Shen Heyu was infuriated.

Could he not understand his own words?

She had already said she was busy! She gave her phone a glance and hung up directly, not bothering him at all.

On the other end, Pei Yansi saw the abruptly ended call without prior notice, his eyebrows furrowed, feeling displeased.

No one had ever dared to hang up on his calls before.

Even she, six years ago, wouldn’t have dared.

Initially, he had said he would go to Shen Group to pick up Shen Heyu for dinner, and bring their daughter along.

As she reached the ground floor of the company, she immediately spotted Lu Yi’s car parked by the roadside.

The hazard lights of the car were on; as she approached, Lu Yi got out of the car and opened the door for her, smiling, “Watch your head.”

As he spoke, he also stretched out his other hand, tentatively shielding her head as if he was worried about her bumping into the car door.

Shen Heyu looked up and thanked him with a smile.

Lu Yi smiled back, his cheeks dimpling pleasantly, making him look gentle and cheerful as the setting sun cast their shadows on the ground.

They seemed like two adults, very close and chuckling.

Like a couple deeply in love.

Soon, their car drove away into the distance.

Pei Yansi’s car arrived just in time to witness this scene. The familiar sourness and jealousy rose from the depths of his heart.

He watched the vehicle fading into the distance, the light in his eyes growing darker and heavier.

Zhao Jin saw it too and even felt the chilling low pressure emanating from the back seat, making him shiver.

Pei Yansi quietly watched and took out his mobile phone to call Shen Heyu.

The call was directly disconnected, not picked up.

He had not been very angry yet, but her hanging up fueled his anger even more.

She said she was busy and then went out with another man, getting into that man’s car and not even picking up his calls.

His anger was indescribable.

He said to Zhao Jin, “Follow their car.”

Zhao Jin dared not say much, quickly drove to follow them.

Before long, the car stopped outside a new Chinese restaurant. This restaurant was popular because of its quaint and elegant decoration, and it had soundproof private rooms.

Pei Yansi saw and let out a cold laugh—so they went to a restaurant with such privacy.

Zhao Jin parked the car and, having not heard Pei Yansi move to go out, couldn’t help but turn to glance at him and ask, “President Pei, shall we go?”

Pei Yansi looked up, swept him with a cold glance, “Go, where?”

Follow them inside? What a joke.

He was going to wait right here.

Pei Yansi rolled down the window, lit a cigarette, and for the first time felt that time was passing so slowly, each second felt like an eternity.

He couldn’t help but think of Shen Heyu having dinner with Lu Yi, laughing and chatting.

She would surely smile at him, and it would be a genuine, truly happy smile.

A smile she would never show him.

“The one you sent to prison before, Bai Sheng’er.”

Shen Heyu frowned in displeasure at his words, “Mr. Pei, watch your words. He’s my friend.”

Lu Yi stepped forward, “President Pei, Heyu doesn’t want to go with you. This isn’t right.”

Pei Yansi sneered, “Do I need to ask if it’s right?”

After saying that, he grabbed Shen Heyu again towards the car, intending to push her inside.

Lu Yi quickly stepped forward, blocking their way, “President Pei, I won’t let you take Heyu today unless she agrees.”
