She Asks for a Divorce Again

Chapter 95: 95 Sending Away

Chapter 95: Chapter 95 Sending Away

Meng Ru was somewhat dazed as she was led out of the hospital.

The back of her head still hurt because she had hit the ground when she fell down the stairs. She wanted to stay in the hospital a bit longer so that Pei Yansi could visit her.

In the six years since Shen Heyu had left, she had retired from the entertainment industry, no longer being a small-time celebrity and instead devoted herself to working by his side.

He indeed appreciated her, promoting her to Shen Heyu’s former position.

She was now a director in the company.

She had always been by Pei Yansi’s side, serving almost as his personal assistant, and without Shen Heyu, Pei Yansi’s treatment of her had improved significantly.

But she had not expected Shen Heyu to suddenly return to the country.

Moreover, she even brought a daughter with her.

She didn’t take it seriously until she saw Pei Yansi instruct Zhao Jin to bring the mother and daughter to live with them, which made her feel anxious.

It had been sixteen years, but Pei Yansi had never thought of marrying her, not even touched her.

She had tried to seduce him covertly many times, but Pei Yansi was unmoved.

Now that Shen Heyu had returned, she worried about her position being threatened and wondered when Zhao Jin might clandestinely replace her to take the child.

Zhao Jin, who was in the hospital room, interrupted her thoughts, “Director Meng, we should hurry. President Pei is waiting; if he becomes impatient…”

He didn’t finish his sentence, but Meng Ru knew the implications all too well.

Pei Yansi had a bad temper, that was common knowledge.

She got up from the hospital bed and followed Zhao Jin, not asking what the matter was because she always had a faint premonition.

Back at the company, she was taken directly to Pei Yansi’s office.

Pei Yansi sat on a black leather sofa, quietly watching Meng Ru as she entered. His face was expressionless, but the look in his eyes was frighteningly dark.

Meng Ru walked up, a flattering smile on her face, “President Pei, why did you have me brought out of the hospital so quickly?”

Pei Yansi looked at her briefly, without moving or speaking.

Just staring at her.

It was terrifying.

Meng Ru’s heart trembled.

After a long time, he finally spoke, “Who gave you the courage?” — implying who gave her the audacity to meddle with Shen Heyu and her daughter behind his back.

Meng Ru pretended not to understand, “What do you mean, President Pei…?”

“I’m only giving you one chance,” Pei Yansi said impatiently, not wanting to hear her lies, directly blocking all her routes of escape.

Tears welled up in Meng Ru’s eyes. She tried to mimic Bai Sheng’er’s actions, feigning crying and appearing pitiful, but her looks weren’t the youthful type, and this only made her seem more out of place.

“President Pei, I was wrong, I was wrong…” She raised her hand to wipe her tears, walking up to Pei Yansi, almost wanting to kneel.

“Wrong about what?”

“I just love you too much. That’s why I couldn’t resist causing trouble for Shen Heyu…”

It was unclear which part hit Pei Yansi’s funny bone, but he suddenly laughed out loud, a very cold laugh.

His eyes lacked any warmth.

“Love me?”

Pei Yansi quietly watched her, extending his hand, but then thinking better of it, he retracted it and instead extended his foot.

The polished shiny leather shoe gently lifted her chin, “To what extent do you love me?”

Meng Ru didn’t speak.

She only felt a wave of coldness at her chin, emanating from the shoe.

Pei Yansi saw this, withdrew his foot, and said, “Go to HR and pack your things, get lost.”

Meng Ru was startled, but soon realized what was happening, “President Pei? You don’t want me anymore?”

“When did I ever want you?”

Meng Ru’s face turned pale.

She nearly burst into tears.

But Pei Yansi had no patience to watch her cry. He stood up from the sofa, left the office, and said as he left, “I’m only giving you this afternoon. If I see you in the company tomorrow, I wouldn’t mind personally sending you off.”

“But then, it won’t just be leaving the company.”

Meng Ru watched his retreating figure.

Without a shred of sentiment.

Her heart chilled bit by bit. She didn’t understand how just for slapping Shen Heyu’s daughter, he could so casually kick her out of the company?

Did her six years of dedication count for nothing?

Hatred brewed in her heart, and she blamed everything entirely on Shen Heyu.

Shen Heyu entered Shen Group, and after Shen Jiangli introduced her to the president’s office, he took her to her own separate office.

Her position was the same as it had been abroad; she was the highest director of the entire company.

Her main reason for returning to the country was to help Shen Group establish domestic connections and gradually transition the business back home.

It was time for Shen Jiangli to take over, as Mr. Shen was getting older and it was time to let go of the company.

Shen Heyu spent the whole day in her office working on the first connection she wanted to establish, the Lu Family.

Besides having a relationship with Lu Yunlan, the Lu Family’s business wasn’t very large, making it the easiest partnership to establish as they were more likely to agree.

With this in mind, she called Lu Yi.

The call connected quickly, “Heyu?”

“Doctor Lu, are you free tonight? I’d like to invite you for dinner.”

Lu Yi laughed and said, “Of course, if you ask me, I have to make time.”

His voice was filled with unmistakable joy.

Shen Heyu also asked about Lu Yunlan’s situation and then hung up the phone. She needed to prepare a proposal to discuss business with the Lu Family.

As work was about to end, Shen Heyu received a call from an unknown number.

She hesitated to answer, feeling an intuition that it was Pei Yansi, and it could only be him.

She hadn’t yet decided when the call, having exceeded the time limit, hung up automatically.

She thought to let it go, pretending she hadn’t seen it, but then the call came through again.

This time, Shen Heyu answered.

“Why did it take so long for you to answer?” On the other side, Pei Yansi’s voice carried a questioning tone.

It was the same strong, domineering tone as six years ago.

Shen Heyu replied unhappily, “I was working.”

“You have only two minutes left before you’re off,” Pei Yansi caught her.

She pursed her lips, not wanting to argue too much, “What is it?”

“Are you free tonight?”

“No.”

“I’ll send you the address, come for dinner.” Pei Yansi, ignoring her response and obviously knowing she would be free, just not willing to come, commanded in a direct tone, “Bring Yuexue too.”
