Pokemon: Reborn Rich Alternate Earth

Chapter 419: Battle

Julian didn’t plan to stay long at the Spencer family’s home. After exchanging pleasantries, he was already thinking about finding an excuse to tell Charles that he had something to do and needed to leave.

The Yale Province High School League had already kicked off in the past few days, and Julian was responsible for the special recruitment in both Shu Province and Yale Province.

It was also a good chance for him to visit home.

When it came to socializing, Julian wasn’t particularly skilled.

“Julian, it seems like you have something to do, so I won’t keep you any longer,” Charles said.

As a seasoned and shrewd man, Charles could easily tell that Julian wanted to leave, So he didn’t insist on making him stay.

The Spencer family had a good relationship with the Walker family, and with the younger generation, like Jessica, now connected to Julian, their purpose had already been achieved.

“Yeah, I do have some matters to handle.”

Julian nodded, since Charles brought it up first, it saved him the trouble of finding an excuse.

“Ah, you’re leaving so soon?”

Jessica looked a bit disappointed, she had originally planned to show Julian around and have some fun.

After all, Westford City was famous not only for its hotpot but also for its many tourist attractions and its unique Pancham and Pangoro.

Julian glanced at Jessica helplessly. 'Why are you looking so disappointed? We’re not even that close.'

“Jessica, stop messing around, Julian has things to take care of, unlike you, who just wants to play all day,” Jessica’s father said.

Hearing this, Jessica pouted slightly, making her look even more adorable.

Julian’s excellence had indeed caught her attention. Naturally, she wanted to spend more time with him.

After all, most people were drawn to and admired those more outstanding than themselves.

And Julian’s achievements were already far beyond what his peers could match.

Just then, a figure hurried in from outside. The moment he entered, he called out, “Grandpa, I heard Julian is here!”

Hearing his name, Julian naturally turned around to look.

The speaker was a tall, rugged man with a straight posture and sharp eyes, exuding a strong military presence.

“Julian!”

The man quickly spotted him.

“Come fight me!”

“Enough nonsense!”

Before Julian could say anything, Charles’s yelled angrily. Then, he turned to Julian and introduced the man with a helpless sigh.

“Julian, this is my grandson, Leon Spencer. He’s currently serving in the military—a battle maniac.”

Charles had three sons and one daughter. Jessica’s father was his second son, while Leon was the child of his eldest son, making him Charles’s eldest grandson.

“You’re already in your thirties, yet you’re still so hot-headed,” Charles said disapprovingly.

Charles’s authority carried significant weight in the Spencer family, especially among the direct descendants, Leon instinctively shrank back a little.

“I only rushed over because Jessica said Julian was here,” he explained, then turned his blazing gaze toward Julian, “Come on, just one battle!”

"Julian, why don’t you battle him? Otherwise, this guy probably won’t be able to sleep for days," Charles suggested.

He knew his grandson’s personality all too well—a complete battle maniac. His passion for combat had driven him to join the military, where he ended up in the most dangerous special operations unit.

Still, Leon was highly capable. By the age of thirty, he had already reached the rank of colonel, and the unit he commanded was among the elite forces directly under the military district.

"Sure."

Julian nodded, from the determined look in Leon’s eyes, he knew that if he refused, the man likely wouldn’t let him leave easily.

With that, the group headed toward the battlefield. Jessica walked beside Julian, leaning in to whisper, "My brother is really strong—a peak pseudo-Elite, but he’s definitely no match for you."

Reaching pseudo-Elite peak by thirty was already a remarkable achievement.

If Leon could become an Elite by forty, he might even have a chance of rising to a high-ranking position in the military.

However, Julian was in a league of his own, reaching the Elite level at just twenty made him a rare prodigy in the country’s history. And that was with him deliberately holding back his Metagross from breaking through, allowing it to further strengthen its foundation.

Otherwise, Metagross would have been the first of his Pokémon to reach the Elite level.

Once they arrived at the battlefield, Julian and Leon took their positions at opposite ends. As the protective barriers activated, Leon was the first to send out his Pokémon.

Pokémon: Electivire (Electric)

Egg Moves: Electro Ball, Wild Charge, Dynamic Punch, Electroweb

Leon’s Electivire was at the peak of pseudo-Elite level. Julian could sense that it was on the verge of breaking through to Elite but was being deliberately held back to build a stronger foundation.

It was the same strategy as Metagross.

With a deep enough foundation, a Pokémon could directly reach mid or even late Elite-stage upon breaking through.

As long as there was no rush to break through or some unexpected circumstances occurred, most trainers preferred to keep their Pokémon at pseudo-Elite peak for as long as possible to enhance their power.

Of course, the premise was that the Pokémon had Cyan potential, after all, Pokémon with Green potential cannot break through to Elite.

"Julian, Electivire is my big brother’s ace," Jessica said.

Leon shot her a sharp glare. 'This traitorous little sister! How could she sell me out so quickly?'

"Julian, send out your Metagross, I want to battle it," Leon declared.

Hearing this, Julian couldn’t help but find him a bit hardheaded. He had originally planned to send out Lucario, but now that Leon specifically asked to fight Metagross, it seemed like he was asking for a beating.

'Then I'll grant your wish.'

Pokémon: Metagross (Steel/Psychic)

Level: 70

Potential: Purple

Ability: Light Metal

Held Item: Metal Coat

Gender: Genderless

Egg Moves: None

With a flash of light, Julian’s signature Pokémon, the silver Metagross, appeared on the field.

"Big Brother's hopeless now, Metagross has defeated peak Elite opponents before."

Jessica muttered, covering her forehead. She had known from the start that her brother couldn’t defeat Julian, but she had at least hoped he wouldn’t lose too badly. Yet, Leon had insisted on battling Metagross.

"The Walker family truly produces exceptional talents in every generation, and with Julian, they’ve reached an entirely new level."

Charles, observing from the side, nodded with admiration. With his decades of experience, he could easily tell how extraordinary this Metagross was. Even John’s Metagross from the same period couldn’t compare.

Although the Walker family was small, they too had once been a large clan. However, due to certain incidents, they had been almost wiped out.

Ironically, as their numbers dwindled, the family began producing geniuses with every generation. Each head of the Walker family was a true standout, a dragon among men.

John Walker had two sons and one daughter. His eldest son, though not a professional trainer, had elevated the family's wealth to unprecedented heights.

His second son had followed in his footsteps, becoming the current Steel-type Elite and a nationally recognized Steel-type Gym Leader.

As for his only daughter, she was the youngest trainer ever to receive the Arceus Award.
