Pokemon: Reborn Rich Alternate Earth

Chapter 418: Spencer Family

In the end, Julian was still dragged along by Jessica and Mia for hotpot. Of course, this time, they ordered the mandarin duck pot.

In Westford City, one of the most condescending ways to look down on someone was to say, 'If you really can’t handle it, we can order the mandarin duck pot.'

In the North, a similar phrase would be, 'If you can’t drink liquor, just have some beer instead.'

Throughout the meal, Julian avoided anything spicy entirely—even his dipping sauce contained no spice at all.

As a true warrior, he refused to be defeated by the same trick twice.

During the meal, the three of them chatted naturally. However, most of the conversation consisted of Jessica and Mia asking Julian questions—either about himself or about Imperial University.

"Julian, do you really not have a girlfriend?" Mia asked curiously.

As the sole heir of the Walker family, an insanely talented trainer, and undeniably handsome—aside from being a bit cold—he seemed to have no real flaws.

Shouldn’t a guy like him have countless women chasing after him?

"No."

Julian shook his head.

Women were too much trouble. Besides, he was only twenty—what was the rush? His time was better spent improving his strength.

Women would only slow down his Poké Ball-throwing speed.

"What do you think of our Jessica? If not, you could consider me instead," Mia said.

She was naturally outspoken and had little sense of personal boundaries when she spoke.

Jessica shot her a glare and smacked her. "Don’t drag me into this."

Despite her words, she still stole a glance at Julian. Back at school, she had plenty of admirers. Even in the entire Westford city, many children from aristocratic families were interested in her.

But none of the boys her age could defeat her in battle—so naturally, she didn’t see them as worthy.

However… if it was Julian… that wouldn’t be completely unacceptable.

"Not interested."

Julian’s blunt reply shattered the small bit of expectation in Jessica’s heart, leaving her slightly disappointed, but Mia, unfazed, pressed on. "What about me, then?"

"You're not my type."

Julian looked up from his plate of beef tripe and replied calmly.

Mia rolled her eyes, a bit annoyed. "Why don’t you just say I’m ugly?"

"You’re definitely not as good as Jessica."

Julian nodded earnestly.

Jessica was beautiful enough to stand out even at Imperial University. Compared to her, Mia naturally fell a bit short.

After finishing the hotpot, Julian parted ways with the two of them. Before he left, Jessica invited him to visit her home the next day.

Julian agreed.

The Spencer family was one of the most prestigious families in Shu Province and the dominant force in Westford City. Now that Jessica’s family elders had extended an invitation, Julian had no reason to refuse.

---

Gardevoir Hotel.

As soon as Julian entered the room, Celebi's Poké Ball popped open on its own.

Celebi: "Feeling any better?"

The words sounded like concern, but the expression on Celebi’s face was pure mockery.

'It was just a spicy hotpot, and you ended up sending yourself to the hospital? What a weakling.'

Julian didn’t feel like talking to Celebi, but after taking some medicine, he was indeed feeling much better. At the very least, he could sit directly on the chair without needing to cushion himself with his hands.

He couldn’t help but question whether his so-called Mega Pallet Town physique was even real. In certain aspects, he was no different from an ordinary person.

Seeing Celebi gloating in front of him, Julian grabbed a pillow and hurled it at its face.

“Slow~”

Slowking also popped out of its Poké Ball, tilting its head as if asking Julian whether he wanted it to use Heal Pulse.

“No need.”

Julian refused immediately. Using Heal Pulse on 'that' part of his body? No way. He still had his dignity.

---

At 1 PM the next day, Julian got into a car sent by the Spencer family to pick him up from the hotel.

Jessica was also in the car, sitting beside him in the backseat.

Without Mia—the usual mood-setter—the atmosphere between Julian and Jessica felt much heavier.

Julian wasn’t the type to start conversations, and Jessica wasn’t particularly talkative either.

So, the two of them remained mostly silent for the entire ride to the Spencer estate.

The Spencer family was large and prosperous. Their estate covered a vast area, making it the biggest private manor in the entire city. Most of the younger, underage members of the family lived there.

While the adults either attended university or worked according to their own choices or the family's arrangements.

Upon entering the house, Jessica quickly ran ahead and called out, "Grandpa, Dad, I’ve brought Julian with me!"

Inside, ten people were seated, and every one of them turned their attention toward Julian as he stepped in.

"Elite Spencer, Patriarch Spencer," Julian greeted.

Jessica’s grandfather was an Elite title holder, while her father was the head of the Spencer family. As for the others, Julian didn’t bother greeting them—nor did he feel the need to.

"Not only did Brother Walker raise a fine son, but now he has an outstanding grandson as well."

Jessica’s grandfather, Charles Spencer looked at Julian with admiration.

The other Spencer family members also began praising Julian.

Not long ago, John and Jake, had stormed into the Lawson family’s estate, and the once-powerful Lawson family had nearly been wiped out, with most of their main forces either dead or crippled.

Even more shocking was that afterward, Champion Duke publicly sided with the Walker family.

Everyone in the elite circles understood that Julian was no longer just backed by the Walker family, Champion Duke stood behind him as well. Now, there were two Champions supporting Julian.

Not to mention Julian's monstrous talent, even if Julian had no talent at all, with these two powerhouses backing him, no one in all of Drakoria would dare to provoke him.

Charles and John had known each other for decades and had maintained a good relationship.

It wasn’t until yesterday that Julian found out about this. He had mentioned to John that he would be visiting the Spencer family today, and that was when he learned of the close ties between the two.

Charles was a pseudo-Champion-level trainer, and his presence alone ensured that the Spencer family remained one of the dominant forces in Shu Province.

Moreover, the Spencer family had no shortage of talented descendants, but among them, the most outstanding was undoubtedly Jessica.

Had Jessica been male, she would have likely been the next patriarch of the Spencer family. Now, she had been specially admitted to Imperial University—a recognition of her extraordinary talent.

The university’s special admission program only had thirty slots. It wasn’t just about being good—one had to be exceptional to earn a place.

“Elite Spencer, you flatter me, Jessica has remarkable potential—she might become an Elite trainer in just a few years,” Julian responded.

Compliments were meant to be exchanged. Since the Spencer family had praised him, it was only natural to return the favor.

“Hahaha!”

Charles clearly appreciated the words. He turned to Jessica and said, “Once you’re at Imperial University, if you run into any trouble, go to Julian.”

“Stay in touch more often.”

His words carried an underlying meaning.

Then, he looked at Julian and added, “Julian, let me act like an old man here—when you’re at university, do take good care of my little Jessica.”

Julian nodded, it was just a polite exchange anyway, so he just agreed.
