Chapter 26 - Uchiha Mitsuru
Chapter 26: Uchiha Mitsuru
The next day, sunlight poured into the room.
“It hurts…” Wakefield covered his forehead as he slowly opened his eyes, scanning his surroundings. There was not a single change in the bedroom—except for the bizarre red color of the pajamas Ruofeng was wearing.
Ruofeng shook his head, recalling the events of the previous night. “What happened…? Signing the Beast King Mountain’s Psychic Scroll—how could such a thing even be possible?”
Thinking about it, Ruofeng found it strange. Last night, he had been unable to resist his curiosity and had chosen to sign the contract of the supposedly extinct Beast King Mountain Zan. However, the blood-colored text had not faded or changed in any way, which meant that the Zan was not truly extinct. This realization had been strange enough, but then he had sensed a unique energy flowing into his body through the contract—an energy that had aggressively strengthened his physique.
What kind of energy was that? he wondered. My body feels at least three times stronger than yesterday.
Surprised, he looked down at the blood-red pajamas before tossing them aside and rushing out of the bedroom. “Hurry up and get ready! I want to take a bath!”
“Yes, Young Master!” the maids outside answered promptly, moving to prepare his bath.
As he waited, Ruofeng continued to assess the changes in his body. What kind of energy could have such a powerful effect? Although I fainted from the pain, my physique has improved drastically.
He considered himself fortunate. Even before this, the enhancements from the medicinal baths and magical beast meat had already given him the strength of a ten-year-old. Now, with this new boost, he was likely comparable to a Shimanja.
As he moved around, more memories from last night surfaced in his mind, especially the name Inuyasha.
Inu Immortal… He frowned. For them to call themselves immortals, they must have a method of cultivating natural chakra. This Beast King Mountain Zan is not as simple as it seems.
While he was deep in thought, the maids finished preparing the hot water. Without hesitation, Ruofeng walked into the bath and washed away the impurities left behind from his body’s transformation.
Not long after, Ruofeng arrived at the ninja school. Despite the previous day’s events, he still had to attend classes.
As he stepped into the classroom, he noticed that many students had already arrived. However, the moment they saw him, a heavy silence fell over the room. The lingering effects of the intimidation from yesterday were still evident.
Jiu Yukino, however, waved at him. “Ruofeng! Over here!”
Ruofeng glanced in her direction and saw that she had already taken a seat. Without hesitation, he walked over.
As he sat down beside her, he commented, “You came quite early today.”
Jiu Yukino handed him a cup of juice. “Grandma woke up early and taught me some cultivation, so I arrived ahead of time. Oh! I also made a new friend today!”
She gestured toward the little girl sitting next to her.
Ruofeng raised an eyebrow in surprise. Instead of Swirl Reiko, who usually sat next to Jiu Yukino, there was now a black-haired girl in her seat. Reiko had moved to the left of the new girl.
“Why is there an extra one?” Ruofeng asked, skeptical. “Aren’t you afraid that others will ostracize you? Or is there some other reason?”
The little girl hesitated, looking shy.
Jiu Yukino quickly spoke up. “Miichan is not like that! She’s a Uchiha! Some students in the class already ostracized her, but that’s their fault, not hers. Miichan is gentle! Those guys just dislike the Uchiha Zan for no reason.”
Ruofeng’s gaze turned sharp as he looked at the girl. “You’re from the Uchiha Zan? Your name is Uchiha Miichan?”
Miichan nodded hesitantly. “En… I am Uchiha Miichan. I belong to the Uchiha Zan. That… that… You don’t dislike the Uchiha Zan too, do you?”
Ruofeng shook his head. “Heh… You’re overthinking it. So what if you’re Uchiha? It’s a powerful Kiba Zan, but in the end, they’re just people like anyone else. Those who ostracize you do so out of low self-esteem and jealousy.”
He leaned back, crossing his arms. “The Uchiha Zan has natural talent that surpasses others. While this class has many skilled students, they still can’t compare to the heirs of great families. Most students here come from civilian backgrounds, so there will naturally be resentment. Usually, the great families have private classrooms and schools. So why are you here?”
It was a fair question. Most noble Zans educated their children in private institutions to maintain their superiority. The Third Hokage resented this divide but had no real way to eliminate it, only mandating that some Zan members attend the public ninja school to encourage integration. Jomonoki’s attendance was one such example. However, the Uchiha Zan had its elite education system. Why was Uchiha Miichan here?
Miichan looked embarrassed but answered honestly, “I came voluntarily… The Zan’s school said I wasn’t talented enough to become a ninja, so they didn’t let me attend. That’s why I’m here.”
Ruofeng’s expression shifted as understanding dawned on him. So that’s how it is… In the original story, Miichan had never displayed exceptional talent.
Narrowing his eyes, he said, “I see… But talent isn’t everything. Sometimes, effort matters more.”
Miichan’s face turned pink, and a spark of determination lit up in her eyes.
Jiu Yukino grinned and added, “Miichan, you can do it! My dream is to become the first female Hokage. One day, you’ll be my top shinobi!”
Her bold declaration made Ruofeng feel a strange sense of déjà vu. In the original story, Jiu Yukino and Miichan were best friends. Who would have thought they’d become so close on just the second day? Fate does work in mysterious ways.
As the teacher entered the classroom, Ruofeng’s eyes narrowed. His thoughts drifted elsewhere. Yesterday’s enhancement also left a new piece of trash at the dump. I need to check what it is after school. Hopefully, it’s something from a powerful world…
What do you think?
