My Werewolf System

Chapter 1228  Will Anyone Believe Me?

Chapter 1228  Will Anyone Believe Me?

Saiber was huffing and puffing. Every one of the other Altered Hunters were still getting crates onto the ferry. Some of them in pairs of two, but the one person who wasn’t moving at all was Gary.

Walking over, Saiber continued to mutter under his breath.

“What is it now, are you faking some type of illness so you can get out of this mission. I knew I shouldn’t have brought you here,” Saiber commented. “I don’t know what I was thinking, I was just in a good mood after beating that fool.”

When he reached Gary, he stopped right in front of him.

“Hey were you trying to look strong lifting one of these things by yourself or something?” Saiber asked.

Gary lifted his head, looking Saiber in the eye.

“Sorry, just some strange pain in my head… it’s okay,” Gary answered as he stood up, and then lifted up the box effortlessly and continued to move forward.

“Hey, don’t try too hard again, otherwise you’re going to hurt yourself and get in our way again?” Saiber said, nodding his head.

While walking with the crate, Gary was wondering what the ringing in his head was about.

He had never felt a pain like that before, and his body almost felt like it wanted to transform on its own.

The closest feeling he had to such a thing, was similar to when he had met the vampires.

Only it was slightly different. Ignoring it, he moved over and was onboard the large ferry which was composed of two floors. Most of the crates were placed in the centre.

While Altered Hunters were on the first floor, and some were onboard the top on the second.

They weren’t the only ones on the ship, there were around ten staff members along with the captain as well.

When Saiber eventually made it on, the group had left their motorcycles on land, and the ship was ready to set sail.

It was on the move.

The pain in Gary’s head still hadn’t disappeared, so he decided to head up to the second floor.

He could see the other Altered Hunters staring and snickering at him behind his back, but he didn’t really care as he went up to the very edge and started to lean up against the side.

“This whole thing. It’s giving me a headache, and it’s knocking my senses. Even the system doesn’t seem to be working completely… this doesn’t have something to do with the hunters does it?” Gary thought.

As the ship continued, Gary started to feel better. It didn’t take too long, only around ten minutes they had been travelling for.

The main reason why he knew his senses were getting better was now he could hear those around him again clearly instead of the dull ringing of voices like before.

It was a short while after though that Gary noticed something else. He started to sniff the air, and began to move forward towards the smell.

“No it can’t be… can it?” Gary thought as he continued to sniff the air and was following the location.

He then could see it, up ahead there were Altered Hunters, and some members in a white coloured shirt, the staff of the ship that were talking.

There were around four of them, and two staff members totaling six individuals in total.

“It can’t be, is this right?” Gary thought as he continued to go over. “But if that is the case… then?”

Gary started to look around, and he could see other staff members mingling with hunters in another area.

From their conversation it didn’t seem to be their first meeting. As if the other members were Altered Hunters as well, or at least a part of the association in some way.

As Gary frantically moved around the second floor, Saiber who had just arrived could see him moving all over the place, and eventually placed his hand on his shoulder.

“What are you doing, young man?” Saiber asked. “Are you going to tell me that you're sea sick as well. If you move about like that, of course everyone is going to be sick.”

Gary looked at Saiber although he was an annoying person, he was the five star hunter that was in charge of this mission.

If he wanted something to be done, or to speak to someone about what could be done, then it would have to be him.

‘But how do I tell him, without being suspicious about it?’ Gary thought. ‘I can’t exactly fight these guys myself either. Otherwise my disguise will disappear and then that’s just even more bad news.’

He had to give it a go though and speak to Saiber.

“The people on the ferry, how much do you trust them?” Gary asked.

“The crew, they’re members of the Altered Hunters association,” Saiber answered. “They aren’t hunters themselves but those that have been in the group for a long time. There are people who do more than just help, and we have people like this all over the city.”

“We have been planning this for a long time.”

“Right, right I see, so you trust them right?” Gary asked, as he was thinking this was bad news.

“More than you,” Saiber commented, and those weren’t the words that Gary wanted to hear.

“With your masks can’t you check to see if any of them are Altered. Even if you do trust them, there’s just something that doesn’t feel right.”

The Altered Hunters weren’t wearing their masks but it was easy for them to access as they would have it on their belt, or under their jacket and other areas.

For Saiber it was under his black trench coat. He reached in and placed it on his face, still giving Gary a look before putting it on.

He looked at all of the Staff members and couldn’t see anything out of the ordinary.

“You trying to get me worked up for no reason kid?” Saiber asked. “I don’t know what I was thinking, trusting you.”

Those were the words Saiber spoke as he walked off, but Gary was sure of it.

His nose was telling him that all of the staff that were on the ship, they weren’t humans, they were Werewolves.
