Million dollar bride

Chapter 21: Blood transfusion

The room door opened.
David stood up and hurriedly asked the doctor. "How's my sister?"
"She lost so much blood that she needed more blood, but at the moment we are out of type O blood at the hospital." The doctor said.
Blood type O. Ella muttered and then spoke. "Take my blood, I have the same blood type as her."
“That will exhaust you.” There was fear in David's eyes.
“Saving people is the most important thing.” Ella looked at David and then walked into the room with the doctor.
After receiving more blood, Rika's condition was fine. As for Ella, the doctor told her that she just needed a few days of rest and nourishment to recover. Because of this, she became the happiest patient in the hospital. All day long just eat and lie down, there are servants, whatever you want is met, no need to do housework, and work at the company is also postponed. All focused on her health. It seems that the few liters of blood were given away in vain. However, Mrs. Emma is still not grateful to Ella for saving her daughter. She and Maria are still working together to remove Ella from David's life.
During the days that Ella was in the hospital, David visited her several times. But his work is busy so he tells her to take care of her health. Ella called Suzy - her best friend - to the hospital to talk. She also asked Suzy to buy dozens of boxes of cakes and bring them to the hospital for her to eat because she loves to eat cakes.
Ella put all the cakes in her mouth and chewed them.
"You eat slowly, there's still a lot of cake."
Suzy handed Ella a glass of water.
Ella needs a glass of water and drinks. “How lucky.”
Suzy was surprised. “Is being in the hospital you say lucky?”
“It's rare to see you taking care of me so devotedly and thoughtfully as in the past few days. You know, at the Anthony mansion, I felt pressure because of my mother-in-law. Being in the hospital, I feel much more comfortable.” Ella nodded, satisfied with what she thought.
“You just do superfluous things.” Suzy folded the pillow.
"What? I saved a girl's life, why do you say redundant?" Ella is angry. "Besides, she's the sister of…David."
“You and David are just husband and wife on a contract, why should you care about their affairs? What kind of woman is David's mother, she treats you so badly. Do not you know?" Suzy asked and glanced at the girl beside her.
"I know. But Rika treats me very well, and so does David.” Ella sighed.
David entered. I wonder if he heard what Ella and Suzy just said. Ella guessed not because he kept saying thank you to her for saving his sister from death.
Ella waved her hand. "You don't thank me, I'm glad I helped your sister."
"I don't know how to repay you," David said sweetly.
“You don't have to… have to… pay me back…” Ella lowered her head, embarrassed. When she looked up, she looked around the room and didn't see Suzy. Perhaps while she and David were hesitant to talk of gratitude, she had already left the room.
Before being discharged from the hospital, Ella visits Rika. When she arrived, Rika was reading a book. As soon as she saw me, Rika made a happy face.
“Thank you for your blood transfusion. If it weren't for you, I would probably have been carried away by death." Rika laughed.
"Does not matter. You're fine, that's fine." Ella said. Seeing the apple plate on the table, she suggested. “Let me peel an apple for you.” Ella took an apple and a knife and began to peel.
“My brother is very lucky to have you as his wife. But my mother… she kept cuddling next to Maria. Why doesn't she understand that you are her good daughter-in-law?" Rika said, her voice displeased at the mention of Maria.
The knife in Ella's hand suddenly stopped. She thought. 'But this will soon be over.'
“David once told me about you, that you are a special girl. He loves you very much, loves you very much.”
Ella was stunned. Leaving Rika to speak to herself, Ella was lost in thought. 'Aren't we just a fake couple? Why did he break everything written in the contract? What should I do? If he loves me, I won't divorce him, right? How could this happen?'
Ella wants to tell Maria that they are just a fake husband and wife, and after three years, they will break up, so that Maria doesn't think Ella stole her fiancé. But David had warned, that what happened between him and her must not let anyone know.
"Ella."
Rika called for the third time, and Ella woke up. When she suddenly came out of her dream, her hand was cut by a knife, and bright red blood dripped down.
The one injured was Ella, but Rika was panicking. "You're bleeding, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."
"No problem."
"Let me call the doctor."
"Do not need."
"No, you just gave me a blood transfusion and now it's dangerous to lose more blood."
Rika hurriedly got off the bed, running to the red button. Seeing her in such a hurry that she tripped, Ella relented.
The doctor bandages the wound on Ella's arm and leaves the room. The door closed and then opened again. This time the person entering the room was Key. He carried a bouquet to Rika's bed.
"For you, wish you a speedy recovery."
Rika received the bouquet from Key's hand. "Thank you. By the way, I also have to thank you for saving me at the bar that night.”
"Nothing. Since you're my boss's sister, it's my duty." Key said politely.
Ella looked into Key's eyes for Rika, she knew for sure he had feelings for Rika. So, she stepped outside to give them a private space to talk.
Key doesn't have a girlfriend yet because David gives him a lot of work, he even does it on weekends. Rika is the first girl to make his heart flutter. But he also understands that he and Rika are not on the same level. He's just a poor assistant, how can he be worthy of Rika? But Rika didn't seem to think about the rich-poor issue. She liked Key, liked the way he risked his life to save her in the bar that night.
Returning to work, the first news that Ella received was 'Ella – a brave girl who volunteered to donate blood to save the CEO's sister's life.' She repeats everyone's words verbatim. Wherever she went, she was met with admiring glances. The people who previously judged her unworthy of David, always looking at her with half their eyes, now they flatter her up to the sky. They even said they would invite her out to eat after work. Ella didn't have the heart to refuse the good intentions.
Seven o'clock at night, at the restaurant. A group of people sat around a round table, chatting while eating.
“Maria, that partner is very difficult, how did you convince him?” A girl asked.
“I have my way.” Maria shrugged.
They changed the subject. The topic this time revolves around Ella's blood transfusion to save the CEO's sister. While everyone was praising Ella, Maria sat in the corner, throwing a fierce gaze at Ella.
