Million dollar bride

David focused on the documents in front of him, Ella had nothing to do, she sat in the corner on the chair. She wanted to ask something but hesitated. When she could no longer be patient, she spoke up. “Last night, you… did you come back?”
David looked up. It took him a while to understand what she was talking about. He smiled. “Yes, I come home when you sleep and I go to work before you wake up.”
His answer satisfied Ella.
Key knocked on the door and opened it. He handed a brochure to David, said. “Please sign.”
David went through the document and then signed the blank space with a pen at the bottom of the page.
Ella said nothing but still watched them.
After signing, David hands the document over to Key. Key said. “Do you accept to sign a business contract with the Cartel?”
Ella has heard of the Cartel Corporation. Of course, this corporation is not as famous as the place where she works.
"What is the matter?" David typed on the computer keyboard and asked.
"Cartel is just a small corporation, cooperation with them will not be very profitable."
This Ella agrees with Key's opinion.
David stopped typing, leaned back in his chair, and spoke. “Since the product 'Blue Ocean' was launched on the market, our company has earned a large amount of money. Signing a contract with Cartel, I don't care if the profit is high or low, and they offer to cooperate first, why would we selfishly refuse to harm our company? The press will say we're arrogant, you know?"
“Don't you think the Cartel relies on our company for its fame?” Key raised an eyebrow.
David shrugged, saying nothing.
Key thought. 'I see your unhappy face.' Then he told David. “Yes, general manager. But the director of the Cartel wants you to sign the contract in person.”
"No problem." David smiled, calling Ella. “Ella, can you help me schedule an appointment with the CEO of Cartel this week.”
"I know," Ella said that she had a hunch that the meeting to sign the contract wouldn't go as planned.
Key left David's office.
Time for lunch. David and Ella walked hand in hand to the canteen. Maria looked at the couple while eating and talking intimately, her heart arose with jealousy.
Raymon looked at the other couple and then at Maria's expression, he understood what she was angry about. He walked over to Maria's seat, smiling mockingly. "Hello, beauty."
Maria raised her head. "Who are you?"
“I am Raymon, the director of the marketing department.” Raymon sat across from her and answered. “Are you a new employee?”
“Yes, my name is Maria. Wazzup?" Maria asked coldly.
“It sounds like you are very upset with Ella.”
Hearing Raymon say that Maria became even angrier. "I hate her. She stole my boyfriend.” Her eyes went to David and Ella, gritting her teeth.
Raymon was surprised. "Boyfriend? David is your boyfriend? Isn't he already married? His wife is Ella. As far as I know, Ella is the only girl in his life.”
“I am David's childhood friend. I just got back from studying abroad. This time I came back to be his wife, but I didn't expect him to be married." Maria said angrily.
“So do you want to cooperate with me?”
Maria raised an eyebrow at Raymon. "Co-operate? Why?"
“Because I like Ella, I want her.” Raymon shrugged. "Let's work together to separate them."
Maria smirked. “Your hobby is strange. You're a handsome, stylish man who likes a mean, ugly girl like Ella."
“Ella is not like the girls I used to know. So, I want to try.” Raymon winked with a scoundrel smile.
Maria doesn't care about Raymon, she will do everything to get David to divorce Ella. So she agrees to cooperate with Raymon.
Rika sits in a bar with her friends. They talk about love and men.
At the same time, Key was also present at this bar. He comes here to drink, and relax his mind after a tiring day of work.
“Do you have a boyfriend yet?” Rika's friend, asks.
"Not yet. I still haven't found a man to make my heart flutter." Rika took a sip of wine.
“There are so many here you can choose from.” Rika's friend pointed around the bar.
Rika looked around, pouting.
Two men approached the two girls. They want to offer Rika. Rika refused but they still didn't give up.
Rika was about to leave angrily when one of the two men grabbed her hand. She looked annoyed.
Key sees David's sister struggling with the other two men. He stepped forward, attacking two men.
The bar atmosphere is chaotic.
"Run." Key shouted at Rika.
Rika rushed out. After dealing with two scoundrels, Key ran to the door of the bar to find Rika and witnessed a car speeding at high speed, hitting Rika and causing her to pass out.
Key rushed Rika to the hospital and called David.
David is in his bedroom with Ella. Hearing Key speak on the other end of the line, he immediately took his coat and prepared to go to the hospital.
Ella saw the panic on his face, and she asked. "What happened?"
“My sister had an accident and is in the hospital emergency room. I have to get there right away.” David hurried toward the door.
"I'll go with you," Ella said and followed after David.
Down in the living room, David informed the family that Rika had been in a traffic accident. Then he and Ella went to the hospital.

It seemed that there was an important operation, so in the corridors, doctors and nurses ran back and forth. Everyone is in a hurry. Their urgency suddenly sent a chill down Ella's spine. Her arms were covered in goosebumps.
Hospitals are very scary places.

David kept pacing back and forth, making Ella dizzy.
Ella spoke up. "You sit down calmly, don't worry too much. Everything will be okay."
David slowly sat down in the waiting chair, his face white. He slowly. “I never cared about Rika before, because she always wanted an older sister rather than a brother. But when I heard about her accident, I realized the location of an older brother. I failed to protect her.” David agitated, hitting him on the head.
Key approached him and said. “Boss, don't blame yourself. It's all my fault.”
"Tell me what happened to Rika."
Key told David everything. David patted him on the shoulder. "Not your fault. It was you who saved Rika, without you, she would surely have a disaster with those two men."
“But in the end, she still had a disaster.” Key said in a troubled and regretful voice.
