Million dollar bride

In the distance, Ella heard someone whispering. She turned her head towards the source of the voice and saw Mrs. Emma traveling with Maria. She was surprised. Maria is here.
Ella was about to walk over to greet her mother-in-law when Mrs. Emma saw her and approached. "What are you doing here?"
Feeling that something was amiss, Mrs. Emma looked at the entire garden, screamed, and raised her hand to slap Ella's left cheek.
“How dare you touch my garden? Who permitted you to do this?” Mrs. Emma said angrily.
Ella jumped when she heard Mrs. Emma. She stammered. “I… I just want to help you take care of the garden…”
Before letting Ella finish her sentence, Mrs. Emma cut her off. “Who do you think you are, what right do you have to do that?” The eyes of Mrs. Emma were already red, showing extreme anger. "Never interfere in my business." Mrs. Emma stepped on the seedling that Ella had just planted with her foot.
Hearing the noise, Mr. Harry went out into the garden. "What's up?"
Ella mustered up her courage, she said in an apologetic tone. "I'm sorry Grandpa, I shocked Mom by planting a tree in her garden."
Seeing Ella's apologetic expression, Mr. Harry couldn't help but sigh. He walked up to them and told his daughter-in-law. “This is a good thing, why are you yelling at Ella so loudly? You're away from home, it's right for Ella to take care of your garden."
"But I don't want anyone to touch my garden, you know." Mrs. Emma told her father-in-law.
Maria crossed her arms, and stood to one side, watching and smiling triumphantly. After warning Ella, Mrs. Emma and Maria go into the house. They went up to Mrs. Emma.
In the garden, Mr. Harry comforted Ella, who was sobbing. She originally wanted to make her mother-in-law happy but ended up making her even angrier. "OK. Emma doesn't like anyone to interfere in her affairs, especially in this garden. I understand why you would want to take care of the garden but right now, your mother-in-law has a grudge against you. Wait a while, she will accept you as her daughter-in-law.”
"Yes, I see." Ella bowed her head. She asked permission to go to her room.
Her body was drenched in sweat so she went to the bathroom. After taking a shower, she sat on the couch, staring at her phone screen. She picked it up and opened it to check. No messages nor missed calls.
Ella sighed, lying down, thinking. 'Why am I waiting for him to call?' She tilted her head, looking at the phone. 'Why do I keep thinking about him? Forget it, don't think.' She mumbled.
In the bedroom of Mrs. Emma.
"How dare she?" Mrs. Emma was still angry, repeating every sentence.
Maria put her hand on Mrs. Emma, in a calm tone. “Don't be mad, I hate Ella too. She seduced my David.” Referring to David, she said with a sulky expression. “Why did you let David marry her? I'm your daughter-in-law, right?"
Mrs. Emma patted the back of Maria's hand. "I also advised David but he always did things his way."
Maria provocative. “Are you giving up? If we let Ella be the daughter-in-law of the Anthony family, where is our honor?"
"Of course, I'll find a way to kick Ella out of the house but David is stubborn, he won't divorce Ella."
“If you will allow me, I will find a way to make David stay with me.” Maria gave a devilish smile.
“Of course I allow it. But what are you going to do?” Mrs. Emma was curious.
“First, I want you to tell David to let me work at his company. That way, I will have more opportunities to be with him. I will make him love me. Because we haven't seen each other for a long time, he no longer has feelings for me." Maria said.
Mrs. Emma nodded. "Good. You can leave this to me."
Maria chuckled. If she can take advantage of Mrs. Emma, one of her plans will work.
David returned from the company. Mrs. Emma invited Maria to stay for dinner.
During the meal, she told David. “Let Maria work in your company. Head of Department or Director. Her education is very high, she has just returned from studying abroad, and she will help you solve the job at the company.”
David raised his head, surprised. “But my company has enough employees.”
“Adding one person to the company, no effect at all.” Mrs. Emma turned to Mr. Harry. “Do you have any thoughts on this?”
“I gave the company to David, he will decide.” Mr. Harry said succinctly.
Mrs.'s husband Emma doesn't interfere because he has his own company.
“David, to this request of mine, can't you agree? Maria is a great girl, she will help your company grow. Compared to Ella, Maria is a hundred times better. You can make Ella your secretary, why not give Maria a position?” Mrs. Emma said.
“How can she be a department head or director when she's new? The employees in the company will be jealous.” David said.
Mrs. Emma was about to open her mouth when Maria stopped her, she said. "No problem, I will be an employee like everyone else, as long as you agree to accept me."
“Maria said so, you still don't accept?” Mrs. Emma frowned. Seeing that David was silent, she continued. “If you agree to this, I will not quarrel with Ella. I will let you two live in peace.”
Hearing that, David nodded in agreement.
Maria secretly winked at Mrs. Emma with a smile on her face.
The next day, David, Ella, and Maria went to the company together. David introduced Maria to the staff in the office. “This is Maria, from now on, she will work together with you.”
Maria bowed her head, a smile on her lips. “Hi guys, hope to get more help from you guys.”
The staff happily greeted Maria warmly. They assumed that Maria and their boss were a couple. Anyway, Maria is a beautiful, fashionable, and rich girl, superior to Ella in every way.
There was no expression on David's face when he heard those words. He knows Ella is sad. He just held her hand and went to his office. His actions have shown that he doesn't care about rumors.
