His Genius Wife Is A Superstar

After spending some time interacting with her fans, Iris Long and Jin Liwei's group finally left the MusicFest Tonight studio amidst the loud cheers of the crowd.

Since they had just finished the debut live performance of Iris' comeback single, "I, the Dreamer", Jin Liwei decided to treat everyone to a late-night celebratory dinner.

Iris sighed as she snuggled with her husband in the backseat of her executive van. Dom sat in the second passenger seat while scrolling on his phone. Iris' glam team and other entourage members rode in another vehicle.

Enriqe Valdez left with JJ. The musicians also rode together.

They all made their way to a private, traditional restaurant that Jin Liwei booked for the night.

Inside the executive van, Iris rested her body on her husband while calling the nannies at home to check on the children.

The nannies showed the sleeping twins, cats, and dogs in the master bedroom to Iris and Jin Liwei via video call.

"We'll eat dinner and will be back soon," Iris whispered. "Take a rest in our room for now. Thanks for the hard work."

"Leave the kids to us, Madam, Sir," one of the nannies replied. "Please have fun and stay safe."

"Congratulations on your live performance, Madam," the other nanny chimed in. "We watched it with Madam Huang and everyone else after eating dinner. You were so awesome, Madam! Little Master Mochi was so excited whenever he saw the sneak-peek commercial for tonight's episode before the live broadcast. He kept pointing at the TV and yelling 'Mama, mama' and clapping his hands. If the show hadn't aired so late, I bet the little master would have loved to watch his mommy's performance. Unfortunately, he couldn't keep his eyes open when it was bedtime."

Iris chuckled. Jin Liwei also couldn't help but smile.

"As expected of our cutie patootie, Little Mochi!" Dom exclaimed from in front of them. "He loves watching his mommy perform!"

"How was Little Matcha?" Iris asked next.

"Little Master Matcha also smiled whenever he saw Madam in the speak-peek commercial," the other nanny said. "He slept as soon as I put him on the crib bed. He hasn't moved since then."

The nannies once again showed the sleeping twins via video call.

Little Matcha slept deeply as always.

On the other hand, Little Mochi had already kicked his blanket away. Both his hands were raised above his head while his little feet were spread wide.

The sleeping Ice Cream stayed far away from Little Mochi because she knew that Little Mochi had the worst sleeping habits among them. If she weren't careful, Little Mochi might kick her in his sleep.

Unlike her, Popcorn didn't care much. The orange cat snuggled with Little Mochi and would adjust his position whenever Little Mochi rolled in bed.

One of the nannies carefully corrected Little Mochi's position, making sure to move slowly so as not to wake up the little hellion.

Pudding, Little Mochi's German Shepherd guard dog, opened his eyes and looked at the nanny. Maybe he was warning her not to dare wake up his little master.

Everyone released big sighs of relief when Little Mochi continued sleeping.

Iris' eyes softened as she watched her sleeping babies.

"Go take a rest," she told the nannies.

"Okay, Madam."

"Please keep safe on the road, Madam, Sir."

After the call ended, Iris hugged her husband. His scent relaxed her, gradually calming down the adrenaline rush she got from her live performance earlier.

Jin Liwei kissed her forehead before rummaging for a fluffy blanket from seat storage and covering his wife with it to keep her extra warm.

"Tired?" he asked in a low voice.

She shook her head. "One song won't tire me out."

He chuckled. "I know that you love the stage."

She smiled.

Indeed, for her, performing on stage wasn't as tiring as composing music, recording in the studio, or filming videos. Although she loved every little process about making music, she couldn't deny that performing on stage in front of a live crowd was her lifeblood. It was her element that she couldn't live without.

Then she remembered something. "Oh, right. I almost forgot. Ketchup."

"The cute and mighty Ketchup is here, Mommy! Meow~" a childish voice answered her immediately.

"Can you gather more information about the newly debuted boyband who performed earlier?"

"Aye aye, Mommy! The cute and mighty Ketchup is on it! Meow~"

While waiting, Iris continued to relax in her husband's arms.

"Are you interested in those boys?" Jin Liwei asked.

She looked at him. "Are you jealous?"

"No." His reply was too quick.

Dom snickered. "Those boys are quite cute."

Jin Liwei pursed his lips.

Iris laughed. "What are you thinking? Those boys just remind me of Long Xiulan when she was their age."

Jin Liwei's expression turned serious. He immediately understood what she meant.

As for Dom, he didn't think too much about it. He was already used to his boss talking about her teenage self as if the past her was a completely different person. Besides, he had already long heard of outrageous tales from various people like his Uncle Cai Guang that the young Long Xiulan was a little demoness who spread chaos everywhere she went. Dom always felt thankful that he met his boss after she had stopped being a rebel and matured mentally.

Jin Liwei kissed his wife's forehead again. Although he didn't have any feelings for the original Long Xiulan and even disdained her, he still felt grateful that his wife (Evelina) was able to be reborn into the original's body. If this kind of mystical thing didn't happen, then he wouldn't even have such a beautiful genius wife and wonderful children now.

Before he could say something, Ketchup's voice said, "Mommy, the cute and mighty Ketchup is back! Meow~"

Then their AI cat daughter shared her findings about the newly debuted boyband.

There was really nothing suspicious about them, thank goodness. It seemed that their management company wasn't the type to exploit them. Their treatment was average in the industry.

Iris nodded as she listened to Ketchup's findings.

"What are you planning?" Jin Liwei asked. He already had an idea but he still wanted to know.

She tilted her head to the side and thought about it. She had no obligation to help the newly debuted boyband members. They belonged to a different management company that treated them all right.

It would be too presumptuous of her to poach them immediately to LXC Studio when they had just debuted. In addition, they weren't that special compared to other boybands.

From a business standpoint, it wasn't worth it to pay a huge termination penalty fee for the boyband to cancel their contracts with their current management company so that they could sign with LXC Studio instead. They weren't huge names yet. Sure, they were talented but their debut wasn't that outstanding.

Even so, Iris still felt like she needed to do something for them as they reminded her of the original Long Xiulan's youthful enthusiasm in her memories.

Iris shook her head before looking at her husband. "Don't worry. I won't do something impulsive. I'm still clear-headed about LXC Studio's priorities. Also, I can't make all the major decisions without consulting Brother Chonglin first."

His answer was another kiss on her forehead.

"Dom, please convey to my sister Jinjing and Chen Fei that I'm interested in offering a one-time Orchidia Beauty endorsement deal to those boyband members," Iris said. "If those two agree, we'll make the offer. But if they don't, then we'll forget about this idea of mine."

"Understood, Boss!" Dom immediately fished out his work tablet and began drafting an official e-mail to Long Jinjing and Chen Fei as Iris Long's assistant.

Even though they were all friends, they still strived to be professional when it came to work-related matters.

"Thanks, Dom."

"You're always welcome, Boss!"

It was up to the boyband's good luck if they piqued the interest of Orchidia's COO and CFO. Iris Long had already given a recommendation as the company's head. Whether the boyband received an endorsement deal or not was now out of her hands.

Jin Liwei glanced out of the window. "We're almost at the restaurant."

Iris sat back up. Jin Liwei helped her straighten her hair and clothes. She had already changed out of her performance dress before they left the studio earlier. She now wore a more comfortable casual outfit.

The restaurant Jin Liwei booked was private.

Although there were paparazzi who followed their vehicles from the studio, the restaurant's tough security refused to allow them inside the property.

Iris and her group didn't need to worry about being besieged by fans and cameras. The others already arrived at the restaurant including JJ and Enrique Valdez.

Dom met up with the glam team and other entourage members.

Jin Liwei held his wife's hand as they stepped inside the restaurant together.

The restaurant owner and manager personally welcomed them. The entire place was booked just for their group tonight.

Later, Iris stood at the head of the main table and raised a wineglass.

Jin Liwei sat beside her. On her other side were Enrique Valdez and JJ. The others sat wherever they wanted.

"Everyone, thank you very much for all your hard work these past few months," she said while looking at each of her team members. "I know that it wasn't easy to work with me, JJ, and Teacher Enrique at the same time."

JJ made a face while Enrique listened to Dom translate Iris' words into English.

Iris continued, "Tonight is the start of us seeing the results of our hard work. You can't get rid of me just yet! So please continue taking care of me while we finish our performances for this album."
