Ascension in the Apocalypse

Max received a series of warnings from Luna about not letting his guard down and always being aware of his surroundings. Max smiled and could only nod continuously in agreement.

The two walked to the door and before leaving, Max pulled Luna into his arms and kissed her with burning passion. Luna's eyes widened in surprise, she hadn't expected such a fierce move from him.

Luna closed her eyes and returned the kiss on her tiptoes with her hands around Max's neck. She regretted being too tired and weak or she herself would take Max to bed and have fun with him all night.

You could already see how fierce and determined this woman was!

The kiss lasted more than a minute before the two stopped. Max gave one more soft kiss on Luan's soft lips and left the apartment after not seeing any Zombies outside.

"He's become more mischievous~" Luna closed the door and spoke in a low voice with her face red and her heart beating very fast.

The Max of a month ago was reserved and respectful, but the Max of now is confident and determined. Luna found herself falling deeper and deeper in love with him. She shook her head and went back to the room where little Lina was sleeping and fell asleep with her in her arms.

Max walked out of the apartment with the Fireman's Axe in his hand and narrowed his eyes coldly. The hallway was very dark, making it difficult for people to see far away. Max didn't care much about this, then now able to hear sounds dozens of meters away from him.

"I'd better clean this hallway first or Luna will be too scared after seeing the corpses.." Max muttered and threw the corpses of the Zombies into the hallway through the window on the 6th floor.

The corpses collided with the ground with great force, the sounds of the collisions made a lot of noise, attracting many fierce Zombies. The Zombies roared and scattered after a few minutes.

"Holy shit.. there are so many Zombies.." Max's frown deepened when he saw the large number of Zombies and their ferocity.

Who the hell said Zombies are slow? Humans are slow! The damn things are too fast and ferocious. An ordinary human like Luna would be torn apart in a few seconds if she had to fight more than one Zombie.

Max sighed and started cleaning the building.

He decided to first clean the Zombies that are in the 6th Floor. Max arrived in front of a door and didn't know what to do, he really didn't know how to open locks without a key.

"Fuck!" He shook his head and then used the Fireman's Axe to break the doorknob, creating a bit of noise.

*Rudigo!*

Max entered the apartment and saw three Zombies, one female and two males, advancing towards him. He was not intimidated because he already knew that there were three Zombies inside the apartment and he smashed the Fireman's Axe against the female Zombie's head.

The female Zombie's head was split open by the Axe very easily. Max pulled out the axe and split the second Zombie's head quickly and then gave the third Zombie a powerful kick!

Max killed the three Zombies easily and the bar next to his Level increased to 69%! A few more Zombies and Max could level up. Max turned on the flashlight and looked for other Zombies very cautiously, but he didn't find any.

After searching the entire apartment, Max only found a few cans of canned food and non-perishable food. He put everything in the Storage Space and grabbed the Red Boxes before leaving without looking back.

The next apartment had only a single Zombie, which was easily killed by Max. There was nothing of value in the place other than some food, Max collected the Red Box that the Zombie dropped and continued cleaning.

In the third apartment, there were two Level 1 Zombies, Max easily killed them and cleaned the place before eagerly moving on to the next one! His EXP bar reached 96%! Just one more Zombie and he would be able to level up.

Max entered the fourth apartment and looked around very carefully.

He saw many blood stains on the walls and floor, leading towards one of the three bedrooms in the apartment.

"Tsk! It almost feels like I'm in a horror movie..." Max clicked his tongue and followed the trail of blood carefully.

Soon, he entered the room where the blood trail ended and saw the corpses of a man and a woman on the bed. The man's corpse was almost completely devoured and the woman's corpse was almost in perfect condition.

"Son of a bitch.." Max almost vomited upon seeing something like that and made a vow to never let Luna and little Lina see it.

"Hmm.. 1 Attribute Point per Level? I think which is very little.." Max stroked his chin with a thoughtful expression.

From Max's observations, the peak human level is 5 points, and above that is the Awakened Realm. Just +1 point per level can make life difficult for many Awakened around the world, but not for Max. After all, he has the Primordial Body! Once he obtains one or two Skills, his strength will increase greatly.

Max took the Red Box from the Ambusher Zombie and grabbed all the good food in the house and the items he thought would be useful and left. He looked at the four remaining apartments and smiled from ear to ear before cleaning the apartments one by one.

More than ten minutes later, Max returned to his apartment with a big smile on his face. In the last four apartments, there were 9 more Zombies in total. Max killed them with ease, grabbed the Red Boxes and all the usable food and items before deciding to go back to rest a bit.

His Exp bar increased to 52%, ten or nine more Zombies and Max will be able to advance to Level 3! He was a little surprised that he hadn't found any Zombies at Level 2 or above, which was a small victory for him.

After returning to the apartment, Max went to the bedroom and saw Luna and Lina sleeping like logs. The little girl was even drooling with a very cute expression on her face. Max almost couldn't resist the urge to go over and give her lots and lots of kisses on the cheeks.

He shook his head and went to take a shower with a satisfied smile on his face. Max took a nice and relaxing ten-minute shower and changed his clothes before sitting on the sofa in the living room with his eyes shining.

"It's time to see the Spoils of Battle!"

He's going to open 16 Red Boxes all at once!
