Ascending the Demon Realm

Chapter 23: Descendant of Heavenly King Li

Mei and Boss E stood frozen in shock.

The entire room held its breath.

"The Qiankun Ring coalesces yin-yang energies, forged through celestial radiance. It reverses cosmic forces, shatters dimensions, and harvests souls..."

"Gods—"

Our generation of demons never imagined witnessing two Third Princes' descendants - Dragon Clan's Third Prince and Li Family's Third Prince - nor beholding genuine celestial artifacts.

The Qiankun Bracelet glowed with unearthly hues, its power eclipsing legends.

"Disaster!" Boss E finally reacted as Mingjin erupted in visible violet fury.

The young Li noble smirked, fanning air before his nose. "How rancid this demon stench."

"Stop!" Xue rushed to restrain Mingjin.

"BACK OFF!" Demonic energy exploded, sending Xue flying.

The immortal sneered while his ash-haired companion withdrew celestial energy. "I'll spectate. Enjoy."

"YANYA!"

"MINGJIN!"

"NO DUELING AT THE BORDER!"

Thundering warnings echoed from both factions, yet neither combatant heeded. Drawn blades followed the unspoken rule: when challenged, fight.

Though officials protested, none intervened. Transparent barriers rose, isolating the battleground.

"Crush him, Mingjin! Demons never yield!" Our meeting room erupted.

Though cannon fodder in wars, we excelled at morale support.

"Cease fighting!" Boss E shouted, then whispered to Mei, "Who's your bet?"

Mei glared. "Fools! That's Li Clan's heir wielding Qiankun! Their blood feud with Ao's Dragon Clan predates recorded history! Which idiot paired them?"

Boss E gaped in realization. The ancient enmity between Dragon Clan and Heavenly King Li's lineage, though differing from human novels, held bitter truth.

Yanya raised his rotating bracelet. Mingjin shifted stance.

"Worthless cur." Yanya discarded the artifact. It split into black/white streaks materializing as humanoid figures - the sentient Qiankun's legendary forms.

"Beast." Yanya drawled mockingly. "Familiar term, hmm?"

Mingjin's draconic true form emerged, jaws unhinged. "I'LL DEVOUR YOU—"

Silver light intercepted. Xue strained against dragon fangs, azure energy flaring. "STOP THIS!"

While Xue mediated, the ash-haired immortal taunted: "Scared to lose?"

Centuries of celestial supremacy bred such arrogance.

BANG! Panda Chief stormed in with entourage. "WHO AUTHORIZED MINGJIN?!" His ursine paw jabbed at Mei. "FIX THIS!"

Mei shrugged. "He's Divine Cultivation Division's envoy. Your jurisdiction, Chief."

Panda glared at crocodilian officials now doodling on screens. Panicked clerks hid under desks.

"USELESS!" The chief roared.

Mei flicked hair. "Shouldn't Crisis Division handle this?"

"TOO LATE!" Pounding paws approached the door. "I'LL—"

Staff swarmed him. Mei blocked exit. "You'll escalate this into war!"

Amid chaos, I stood. "Let me try."

Under collective stares, I continued calmly: "If I fail, blame the intern. Expel me if celestials complain."

Mei smirked approvingly as Panda Chief lifted me bodily. "DEMAND ANYTHING!"

"A megaphone."

Silence.

The chief mashed a console button. Outside, Xue struggled as Yanya groomed flaming locks. "Bored already?"

Mingjin roared, shifting humanoid to breach Xue's guard.

I cleared my throat.
