After Transmigrating as a Tycoon’s Wife, My Thoughts Are Heard by the Whole Family

Chapter 420

“Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!” Mao Yi suddenly lunged at the man, trying to cover his mouth.

The man kicked her aside with ease. “What are you going crazy about?”

“You’re lying! You’re lying! My daughter is Duanyi, not… not…” Mao Yi’s face twisted with rage as she shouted.

The man, startled by her reaction, laughed coldly. “Ah, so it’s true. You still care more about your real daughter. You’re just terrified the truth will come out, aren’t you? Relax. I’m not stupid—I’m satisfied with the life I have now, so I won’t say anything. But if you ever make me dissatisfied, don’t blame me for going to the Qin family and running my mouth.”

Mao Yi completely snapped, flinging herself at him again, hitting him with all her strength. For a moment, it seemed as though she might actually knock him down.

Outside the window, Duanyi was trembling as she secretly watched. She nearly lost her footing on the third-floor air-conditioning platform and fell.

Her entire body felt like it was burning, her blood surging in reverse, and her breathing became erratic. Her ears were ringing, and the shock of the revelation left her mind utterly blank.

But soon, the initial numbness turned into a wave of euphoria, then into blinding rage. The two emotions clashed and twisted together, tormenting her to her core.

She didn’t know what to do. All she could feel was the world spinning around her. Looking back inside, she saw Mao Yi, who finally had the courage to stand up to the man and fight him. But instead of feeling moved, Duanyi’s lips curled into a mocking smile.

So that’s how it is. If I’m not her real daughter, she doesn’t care. But if it’s her real daughter? She won’t even let someone speak badly about her.

“If you hit me one more time, I’ll go to the Qin family right away! I said it—don’t push me!” the man shouted.

Mao Yi froze immediately, panicking. “Shh! Shh! Don’t yell!”

The man smirked smugly. “You better behave yourself. I’m your husband. You dare to hit your husband? You want to make your life harder?”

Caught off guard, Mao Yi came up with a counter. “You… you’re my husband, yes. So if you dare to speak out, I’ll tell everyone it was all your idea. I’ll say you forced me to do it. After all, everyone knows I listen to you at home.”

The man’s eyes widened in fear. “You…”

“So you’d better behave instead. If this secret gets out and I get caught, you’ll be the mastermind! You’re a gambler, and you’d use this secret to blackmail the Qin family’s eldest daughter in the future. Doesn’t that sound reasonable?” Mao Yi retorted with a bitter smile.

The man laughed in disbelief. “You’d go to such lengths for your real daughter, huh?”

Mao Yi, having calmed down, replied, “As long as you stay in line, I’ll keep using my salary to support you and your son. But you are not to touch my daughter. As for Duanyi… marry her off if you want. I don’t care anymore.”

Marrying her off might actually be better. It would stop her from visiting the Qin family so often, reducing the risk of exposure. Besides, once things were settled and Tiantian, with her identity as the Qin family’s daughter, married into the best family possible, even if the truth came out later, it wouldn’t matter. Mao Yi could go to jail in peace.

The man stared at her in shock. “You’re heartless. You’ve raised Duanyi for so many years. I thought I was shameless, but you… you’re on another level. You’d do anything for your real daughter.”

Mao Yi snapped, “And whose fault is that? It was you who tricked me into thinking you were a reliable man worth marrying, even when I was pregnant. But you only wanted a son—you didn’t care about a daughter. Don’t think I don’t know. Back then, you and that old bastard were already discussing selling my daughter. Even if I protected her, you would’ve made her life hell. I couldn’t let my precious daughter live in a nightmare.”

The man sneered. “Don’t try to make yourself look noble. If you really loved your daughter, you would’ve taken her and left. You just wanted an excuse to swap her life for someone better.”

Mao Yi’s eyes reddened, but she didn’t argue back anymore.

By this time, the platform outside was empty.

Duanyi had disappeared.

She didn’t know how she managed to make it back to her room. She relied on sheer willpower to suppress her emotions, pushing them back into the depths of her mind like a volcano waiting to erupt.

Now wasn’t the time to explode. If she lost control now, she’d never be able to reclaim the life that was stolen from her.

She needed to go there—to the Qin family—and take back everything that was rightfully hers.

Yes, it was hers. All the beauty, love, and luxury that others envied were supposed to belong to her. She wasn’t the one who should envy others—they should envy her!

Clenching her teeth and fists, she waited until the commotion in the other room died down and everyone had gone to sleep. Carefully, she crept out of bed, still wearing the torn and disheveled clothes from her beating.

With all the money she had on her, she hailed a cab and went straight to the Qin family’s residence.

The moment she stepped out of the car, her emotions overwhelmed her, and she broke down crying.

At 2 a.m., the Qin family’s butler was woken up. The gatekeeper reported that a girl was crying and shouting to see Miss Qin Tiantian.

When the butler learned the girl was Duanyi, Mao Yi’s daughter, he frowned. It was late, and he didn’t want to disturb the household. He was about to suggest letting the girl in quietly when Qin Tiantian, clutching her phone, came out of the new wing.

She looked half-asleep but concerned. “Xiao Yi messaged me, saying something happened and she needed my help.”

The butler had no choice but to accompany Miss Tiantian and bring Duanyi in.

As the car pulled up and the door opened, Duanyi nearly launched herself out of it, rushing straight to Qin Tiantian.

The sudden movement startled the butler, who instinctively shielded Qin Tiantian behind him.

Tiantian, now wide awake, asked in alarm, “Xiao Yi, what’s wrong?”

Duanyi stared at Qin Tiantian, this girl whose life had been built on a foundation of love and wealth, standing there in stark contrast to her own disheveled and pitiful state.

Her lips twisted into an ugly smile before her expression turned sinister.

“Qin Tiantian, I hate you!”

The butler’s face darkened, while Qin Tiantian froze in shock.

Duanyi’s voice was sharp and cutting, each word like a blade. “Qin Tiantian, you stole my life! You and your shameless mother stole everything that was mine! I’m the real Qin family’s eldest daughter! I’m Sixth Uncle and Sixth Aunt’s daughter! You’re just the daughter of a maid! You stole my life, Qin Tiantian!”
