After Transmigrating as a Tycoon’s Wife, My Thoughts Are Heard by the Whole Family

Chapter 421

Duanyi kept repeating, “You stole my life,” pouring out her pent-up frustration, her words a mix of despair and a glimmer of hope for redemption.

Yes, that miserable life, those terrible family members—how could they ever truly be hers? Now, she could finally leave behind the guilt and escape her monstrous mother.

Her cries startled not just the people in front of her but also the entire quiet old residence. One by one, lights began turning on throughout the house.

At this late hour, such a commotion was bound to wake everyone.

The first to rush out were Sixth Uncle and Sixth Aunt, as they had heard their beloved daughter’s name being shouted.

When they arrived, they saw their daughter standing frozen in fear, her face as pale as a sheet. They immediately went to her, pulling her into their arms to comfort her.

Duanyi, seeing this, couldn’t stop her tears. She wanted to push Qin Tiantian away, but the butler stepped in and blocked her path with a disapproving frown.

The butler’s mind was filled with disbelief. Has this girl gone mad, fantasizing about becoming the eldest daughter of the Qin family?

“Mom, Dad, look at me! I’m your real daughter! Mao Jie switched the babies! Qin Tiantian is Mao Jie’s daughter!”

This time, she said it directly to Sixth Uncle and Sixth Aunt, freezing them in place.

“What nonsense are you spouting, young lady?” Sixth Uncle demanded harshly.

Sixth Aunt, though silent, clung protectively to Qin Tiantian, glaring at Duanyi with a fierce, wary gaze.

Duanyi only cried harder, her sobs making her look like the very embodiment of a tragic child disrupting a happy family.

“No, you have to believe me! I overheard the truth tonight. When you were in the hospital together, she switched the babies. Her goal was to give her own daughter the life of a young miss. Think about it—hasn’t Mao Jie always treated Qin Tiantian better than me? If I were her real daughter, why would she do that?”

These words made Sixth Uncle’s sharp eyes flicker with doubt. His heart skipped a beat, though he instinctively rejected the possibility.

“That still doesn’t prove anything…”

“Then do a paternity test! I overheard them conspiring with my own ears. If it’s all a lie, I’ll accept my fate. But if it’s true? Are you really going to recognize a servant’s daughter as your own while casting your real daughter aside? Think about it! If it’s true, then my life… my life has been completely ruined by her mother! Do you have any idea what kind of life I’ve endured in that house?”

Duanyi pulled back her hair and rolled up her sleeves and pant legs, revealing scars and bruises.

By now, a crowd had gathered in the courtyard, including Ji Fei and Qin Xian.

Ji Fei stood in shock, unable to process the sudden turn of events. Just hours ago, she had learned this secret herself and had planned to wait for Qin Xian’s investigation and confirmation before saying anything. She couldn’t believe it had all come out like this so quickly.

She knew everything Duanyi said was true, but…

Though it spared her and Qin Xian the moral dilemma, the shock of the revelation was immense.

Ji Fei glanced at Qin Tiantian, who was already pale, clearly shaken and beginning to doubt herself.

Sixth Uncle and Sixth Aunt’s expressions were indescribable, and Sixth Aunt was trembling all over.

As for Duanyi, her scars and injuries told their own tragic story. It was clear she had been subjected to violence not long after leaving the Qin house. And judging by the older scars, this abuse was not a one-time occurrence.

The sight left Ji Fei feeling suffocated. If Duanyi really had been swapped at birth, her life was truly a tragedy.

“They’ve abused me for years! They’ve treated me horribly and even refused to let me go to school. And to think I actually begged Qin Tiantian for help! How ridiculous that seems now.”

Duanyi’s words made Qin Tiantian stiffen, tears streaming down her face. She shook her head, instinctively denying it. How could she accept that the parents she loved most might not be hers?

Duanyi stared stubbornly at Sixth Uncle and Sixth Aunt. “Mao Jie’s husband even plans to marry me off to an old bachelor to get a bride price! And Mao Jie agreed to it just to keep her husband from exposing the truth about the baby swap. If I were really her daughter, would she be this cruel and heartless? Of course not! But because I’m your daughter, she treated me so viciously. If it were Qin Tiantian, her real daughter, she wouldn’t bear to do any of that!”

She cried out desperately, “Please, believe me! You’re my real parents! How can you not believe me? Do a paternity test! Take me for a test right now, and you’ll see I’m telling the truth. She’s a fraud—she’s the maid’s daughter, the one who benefited from Mao Jie’s schemes!”

Duanyi grew more aggressive, stepping closer and closer, her accusations cutting through the night. Qin Tiantian stumbled back, overwhelmed.

“Enough!” Sixth Uncle roared, his voice trembling with both anger and fear.

Duanyi froze, looking up at him. The fierceness in his voice faltered, replaced by uncertainty. If what she said was true, then the girl before him was his biological daughter.

But how could their precious Tiantian not be their daughter? That bond between parent and child—it couldn’t be wrong, could it?

“Dear, it’s not true, right? Tiantian is our daughter!” Sixth Aunt’s usually gentle demeanor cracked as she began to cry.

“Mom…” Duanyi called out tentatively.

“Don’t call me that!” Sixth Aunt shrieked, as if terrified, before quickly softening at the sight of Duanyi’s pitiful state. “We don’t know yet… nothing is proven…”

Duanyi glared at Qin Tiantian, her anger shifting into blame. She felt that her parents’ hesitation was all Qin Tiantian’s fault.

Meanwhile, Qin Tiantian was completely speechless, her tears falling silently.

The murmurs of the gathered family grew louder. They couldn’t believe the possibility that Qin Tiantian wasn’t truly one of them. But with Duanyi so adamantly insisting on a paternity test, there had to be some truth to her claims.

At that moment, Qin Xian stepped forward. “It’s too late to settle this now. Sixth Uncle, arrange for Duanyi to stay here tonight. Tomorrow, we’ll do the paternity test and resolve this once and for all.”

Sixth Uncle looked at Qin Xian, who continued, “You know it has to be done, Sixth Uncle.”

Sixth Uncle’s face twisted with pain, torn between his emotions and his reason. It was a deeply wounding dilemma.

Sixth Aunt clutched Qin Tiantian tightly, as if afraid someone would take her daughter away. “Tiantian, you’re sleeping with me tonight!”

Tiantian froze, looking between her parents and Duanyi. In Duanyi’s eyes, there was a hatred so intense it was almost tangible.

“I… I want to be alone. Mom, Dad, I just need some time alone,” Qin Tiantian said, forcing a weak smile.

“I’ll take you back,” Sixth Aunt insisted, unwilling to leave her daughter alone. She couldn’t bear the thought of Tiantian not being her own child and wanted nothing more than to avoid everything.

Neither Sixth Aunt nor Sixth Uncle paid Duanyi much attention. Sixth Uncle, though torn, couldn’t bring himself to show concern for a stranger who claimed to be his daughter. He left it to the butler to handle.

Duanyi stood alone in the courtyard, biting her lip to keep from crying. Her tears eventually broke through as she looked at the gathering of people, many of whom felt deeply uncomfortable.

If Duanyi truly was the Qin family’s child, then this entire situation was a tragedy of unimaginable proportions.
