Volume 14 Chapter 15: Going Global
"If it's food, leave it to us!" Carolyn and the others took a bite of the cookies. It was their pleasure to taste-test his creations!
How is it? Keith wondered as he watched them savor the cookies.
"It's tasty!" There was a group that had the usual thoughts. However,
Scarlet muttered, “Lemon and chocolate. That’s not something that we have to know as well.” Citrus had a strong and distinct taste: a bit into a dish would alter the flavors.
“But this one is bitter and tart,” Krystal muttered as she tasted the one with vinegar.
"Hmm, Vinegar doesn't work with chocolate cake." Keith nodded as he crossed that combination out of his mind.
Sarah questioned, "Why do you add vinegar to chocolate cookies?" A bitter ingredient incorporated into chocolate?
"I need an acid agent to work with it." Baking powder requires an acid agent to activate it. Keith was lost in thought before he wanted to try something new, "Wait a moment, I think I could use this." Keith started to make another cookie again, which caused the others to watch and sniff. Vanilla filled the air as Herrick salivated.
"An orange?" They tilted their heads as Keith sprits some orange juice into the baking soda. It was odd since he used lemon.
Keith explained, “This isn’t grown by Diana. This was an orange from outside." What was interesting about these was how sour and citrusy the fruit was. But the taste was nothing. That way, it wouldn't affect the taste of the baking powder.
Once it was done baking, what came out was a fluffy yellow cake.
“So, what do you guys think about this?”
“So delicious!” “I don’t taste the orange at all!”
They continued to munch on the cake.
"Good, I found myself the staple." Using regular oranges was the best.
An orange and baking soda fixture would be perfect for incorporating in rising cakes. For the cakes before, he used egg whites to fluff it up. He had incorporated it slowly into the flour and chocolate mixture. This was fine, but it took slightly longer, which, in a business like this, cutting the time was important. However, that was the only method he thought of.
But with baking powder, he made the cake easier going forward.
“Mmmm.”
Keith laughed, “Alright, help me move it to the dining room.” They couldn’t eat here like that. And that was when they did. They were having an incredible eating spree filled with bread and such.
Diana added, “Keith, please teach me how to bake this bread.” She was so happy about all of this. This blueberry bread was to die for! Keith nodded,
“Sure, I can do that. But…” Are you guys sure you can handle it? The way everyone was eating... They were eating quite ferociously as well. There was a large amount of trouble ahead of him.
Keith sighed, “I need to inform Coyler about the materials and effects.” He had a hunch that baking soda would become an interesting ingredient for people. Baking soda was a good thing for cleaning.
...
“Keith!”
“What’s the matter?” Keith was working at the cart again as he stared at Dennis and the others, “You made more bread?!” “Yes, I have.” Keith nodded as he continued to work. But that only caused the others to twitch weirdly. Stop being so casual about this! How nonchalant can a person get?!
“What do you guys think about it?”
“I think the guildmaster and headmaster's behavior says everything.” Erwin and Cadmus were holding onto a bunch of bread in their hand. It was clear that they had also gone to his bakery to get them.
Erwin couldn’t help but add, “You should have add a bakery into the guild!” This idea was something that he was not going to give up.
Keith shook his head. Before he had the chance to explain, “If he’s going to do that, he has to add one to the academy!” Having it there would definitely increase his happiness!
“...” Keith shook his head as he stated, “I think one is-”
“Don’t even dare say one is enough! The fact that my city is larger than your home! And you have 4 there!” Keith’s home city was definitely smaller than vastoria. That was exactly why this was so unfair!
“...Next customer.”
“Don’t you dare ignore us!” The two wanted to whine. But that was when Keith clapped his hands, “Mr. Kaiser, Uncle Sohma!”
“On it.” The two second in command grabbed them by the neck and dragged them away. He had also tossed in some loaves of bread for the help.
“You bought them off!” “You monster.”
“Heh.” Keith deviously grinned, “So what if I bought them off?”
Cedric scoffed, “Do you think you have something for me?!” Unlike those two, Keith had nothing on him.
Keith scoffed, “Krystal, get him!”
“Grandfather,” That was what Krystal did as she stared at him. It worked quite well because Cedric was flustered and didn’t know what to say. Keith nodded and continued to get to work.
Finrandir added, “Keith, how about you add one bakery to the elf kingdom!”
“Do the same thing for the beastman kingdom as well!” The king squad had something to say about this. The bakery was only in the human kingdom. They had brought it up before but the kid gave them the cold shoulder as he did his own thing.
“Yeah, you need to go global!"
What do you think?
