A God Killed Me By Accident, But I Reincarnated As The 4th Son Of The Marquis

Volume 1 Chapter 17: Family Outing

Volume 1 Chapter 17: Family Outing

"What did you say, Dear?" Sophia felt she heard it wrong.

William suggested to the family again, "Let's have a picnic outside." This caused the rest to be stunned by his words.

William explained, "We haven't spent time together. I think this would be nice to have." The three children blinked their eyes. They didn't know what to say to their father.

Sophia understood his change in attitude. That was because of their youngest son. He had been spending time with the youngest. And it seemed he wanted to do it with the entire family now.

"Sure. Let's do it tomorrow." Sophia agreed. Unlike Keith, the others didn't get the same treatment. She understood what William wanted to do. The two wanted to spend time with the others.

A picnic was a great idea to do this.

"Father," Eric was the first to ask, "Can we practice during the picnic?"

"Sure. I don't mind." William replied. That caused Eric's expression to brighten ten-fold!

"Mother, can we practice magic as well?" Alvin asked Sophia this time. And Sophia nodded.

"Alright."

"Can't we rest for tomorrow?" Derek was the only one who wanted to rest instead of practicing!

The next day, the entire family was together as they walked around the garden. But there was a strange tension. That was due to Keith being held by Eric.

"Eric, let me hold Keith," Derek whined. Alvin had a dark expression as he watched Eric hold Keith as well.

Eric calmly remarked, "You two lost the battle in rock paper scissors. So suck it up." The three had a rock-paper-scissors battle to hold Keith. The winner of that battle was Eric.

William and Sophia, who were behind the four children, shook their heads. Sophia lightly scolded, "No fighting, or I will take Keith away from you."

"Unfair! Mother spent the most time with Keith!"

"Yeah!"

"We want to have fun with him!"

"..." Sophia's expression turned stern as she stated, "I'm his mother and your mother too!"

William shook his head. While they acted like this,

Swoosh! Aria flew in front of them. The three children were startled by its sudden appearance. Keith was the only one happy as he waved his hand. Naturally, Aria got close to Eric and Keith. Eric shivered while Keith patted Aria's head.

"Let's keep going," William suggested. Eventually, the group was at the pergola. Keith was placed on the table, where he played with Aria. The three brothers watched as he did.

Derek asked, "Can we also play with your familiar, Father?" They knew about their father's contract with Aria.

William shook, "I don't think that's a good idea." The only one Aria was close to was Keith. The others, he was not so sure. And he did not want to take the chance.

Sophia and William looked at one another, "Do you want to go first?"

"You go first." William handed the reins to Sophia. Sophia nodded as she turned to the three children,

"Let's practice magic."

The three nodded as they walked to the open field. Sophia asked, "Eric, Alvin, how much have you improved? " Eric and Alvin nodded as they started to chant,

"I call thy thunder to my hand." "I call thy water to my hand."

As the two chanted, lightning sparks, and a globe of water formed in Alvin and Eric's hands.

Sophia nodded, "As expected. Alvin, you have a natural affinity with magic. Eric, you need to focus on controlling your mana."

A grin formed on Alvin's face while Eric groaned. Sophia smiled, "Eric, your talent lies elsewhere. You don't have to worry so much."

Eric's talents were heavily in swordsmanship, while it was subpar in magic. Alvin was the direct opposite of him, weak in swordsmanship but strong in magic.

"I'll give you guys your assignments. Alvin, I want you to shorten the casting time needed to summon lightning. Eric, I want you to gather more mana into your body."

"Understood." "Mmhmm."

Keith and William watched the sight in awe. Mother is super serious! Sophia had a stern expression as she instructed. Then she turned to Derek.

Derek was going to be taught mana today.

"Derek, I told you before that everyone has mana, right?"

"Mmhmm."

"To cast spells like Eric and Alvin, draw the mana out of your body. Try to focus your mana on one point of your body. To do this, calm your mind and try to imagine your mana coming outwards."

"Mmhmm." Derek closed his eyes as he started to focus. And it was fast as a blue aura formed around his body, coming to the center of his chest.

Keith's eyes widened when he saw that. William's fingers brighten up with the same glow, "Keith, this is what you call mana."

Beautiful. As expected of a magic world.

William started to draw around with the mana focused on his hand. He thought it would be interesting for his son to see. But while he did, his eyes widened as he stared at the son.

"Sophia! Come here now!"

"What's the matt-" Sophia turned her head but paused when she saw it. The other three did the same. She quickly dashed over.

What Sophia saw was a little blue light coming from Keith's fingertips.

"Ah!" I did it too! A proud expression formed. Keith wanted to use mana, and that was what he did. He started to draw in the air like what William did.

That caused the others to be shocked.

"Keith, stop that!" Sophia quickly shouted. And that caused Keith to be stunned.

"It's good that you're using magic. But you might faint if you use too much!" When someone runs out of magic, they pass out from exhaustion. But that was the least of the effects.

That was why children weren't taught without supervision. If they ran out of mana, they might cause damage to themselves.

The mana quickly disappeared from his fingertips. Sophia sighed in relief. But then she stared at William, "Did you teach him how to use it?"

William shook his head, "I didn't. I showed him for fun. But I think he learned how to use it from what you said to Derek."
