What Do You Mean There Are Other Transmigrators In My Harem Fantasy?

Chapter 977: He's Dealing With The Assassins

I watched as the longswordsman climbed up the chest of the rock golem, using its body to hide himself from our attackers that were no doubt watching us from the outside.

I wondered if he would be instantly taken out by a throwing knife the moment he appeared but I decided not to ask and just watch for now.

He used the golem's chest as leverage to boost himself up to hang on the golem's shoulder before pausing there for a moment, as though he was waiting for something.

Right as I was wondering if he got cold feet, he pulled himself up onto the golem's shoulder with enough force to send him flying upwards.

He even kicked his foot back to launch himself further by using the golem's shoulder as a springboard and I saw him soar towards the treeline with that single leap.

Several knives immediately pierced through the space that he had been moments ago, missing him by mere inches as he sailed through the air.

He did a mid air flip to avoid another hail of throwing knives before he successfully landed inside the undergrowth.

I climbed up onto the golem's shoulder as well, peeking over it to try and see what was going on out there.

I managed to spot him running through the trees towards another figure that was trying to get away from him.

Unfortunately for the figure, the longswordsman was faster and he caught up to him before delivering a horizontal slash at the guy's back.

There was a loud cry before a gale of wind blasted out from in front of the longswordsman.

Several trees around him were cut and sent flying up into the air, all of them being launched from the wind generated by the slash.

Amongst the cut trees were also several figures dressed in completely black clothes that covered every part of their bodies. Even their eyes were hidden behind some kind of mask, making them blend completely with the darkness.

The longswordsman had no problem spotting them however as he unleashed another slash towards the air, sending another windblade that sliced through the assassins that had been launched into the air.

All of them were cut at the waist and their bodies separated into two halves, none of them even having the time to cry out in pain before they died.

The longswordsman then rushed forward, using the trees that were falling down around him as cover from the other assassins that tried to throw more knives at him as he continued his advance.

Another assassin just so happened to be there and he switched to his own sword to rush towards him instead of escaping.

"What an idiot…" I heard a voice coming from my right, prompting me to turn in that direction to see the Trasif girl had also climbed up the golem to spectate the fight. "That guy really thinks he can take him head on after witnessing him do something like that?"

I turned back to the fight and the longswordsman didn't even slow down when he saw the assassin running towards him.

He simply pulled back his sword and slashed forward again, creating another gale that separated the assassin's head from his body while also cutting down the trees that had been next to the assassin.

He then rushed past the corpse even before it had time to fall, jumping up to use one of the trees as a springboard to launch himself towards the next group of assassins.

I'll have to admit that this guy is really skilled.

I guess this would have been Bob's fate if I had not intervened earlier.

Bob must have thought the same thing because I could see his face paling slightly after he witnessed the carnage in front of him when he climbed up the golem as well.

"Umm… Thanks for saving me again," He whispered to me.

I nodded at him before turning back to watch the long swordsman slash through another group of assassins, sending both trees and body parts flying through the air.

A few of the assassins seemed to have lost their nerve and ran off while the remaining ones were the stubborn ones who still tried to complete their assassination despite the obvious difference in strength.

The remaining assassins had given up on subtlety to rush towards the lone swordsman with their own swords.

The Trasif scoffed, "Yep, they're dead… We should take care of the fleeing ones as well or they'll definitely bring back more trouble."

The other two girls nodded and the Mahun girl, who I'm pretty sure was the party's tank, turned to Bob, "Can you let us out?"

The golem unclasped its hands and the three girls rushed out, the three of them taking a wedge formation and rushing towards the direction of the fleeing assassins.

The assassins rushing towards the long swordsman made no sounds as they raised their swords in preparation to engage him.

Unfortunately for them, he didn't even give them a chance as he skidded to a halt before pulling his blade back to hold it in a stance.

"[Draw Strike: Wind Tempest]!"

His sword glowed right before his hand and sword blurred out of sight, only to rematerialise in front of him as if he had just completed a slashing motion.

There was a sudden pause before a sudden wind blew in front of him, forming into a tornado that blew through the assassins in front of him.

I had to shield myself as the tornado also churned up the surrounding area and uprooted a few of the trees before invisible wind blades sliced up both the trees and the assassins like they were stuck in a blender.

On the other side, the girls that were chasing after the fleeing assassins had split up with the Mahun girl chasing after them from behind while the Inugami and Trasif flanked from the left and right.

She suddenly leapt forward to shorten the distance before slamming her shield on the ground.

"[Taunt: Witness Me]!"

Her entire body glowed and a wave of red mist exploded out from her, enveloping the entire group of assassins.

About three quarters of them suddenly stopped and turned around to run back to her with their weapons raised, no doubt an effect of her skill.

The ones who continued running were attacked from both sides by the Trasif and Inugami.

The Trasif pulled back her bowstring and released an arrow at the lead assassin.

However, it seemed like the assassin saw it coming and leapt back to avoid it, allowing the arrow to fly in front of him.

Unfortunately for him, it seemed like the Trasif didn't need to hit him in the first place as the arrow suddenly exploded into a wall of fire, cutting off their escape.

The Inugami then rushed out from the other side with her daggers held in both hands and dashed past them, the glint of her daggers reflecting the moonlight.

There were choked gurgles as the assassins had their throats sliced open, leaving only the ones that had been affected by the Mahun's taunt skill remaining.

The Trasif and Inugami immediately turned back and attacked them from behind, the Mahun girl only needing to hide behind her shield to hold their attention while her teammates do the rest.

With the assassins all mindlessly bashing against the Mahun's shield, the Trasif and Inugami girls didn't need to worry about defending themselves and went all out in shooting and cutting down the remaining assassins.

Then, just as suddenly as the attack began, the area settled into silence once more.

The longswordsman sheathed his blade behind his back before walking up to me, stopping a short distance away even as Bob's golem stood up to allow us to approach him.

He scratched his head meekly, "Yaa… Sorry about getting you two involved… And also sorry about the misunderstanding. Are you two heading anywhere by any chance? We can at least escort you there or something or maybe pay you for the inconvenience…"

I tilted my head at him, "Your compensation is to offer us to travel with you… The one that seemed to be targeted by some organisation that wants you dead and wouldn't mind involving uninvolved people into the fight as well?"

"Ahh… Well… If you put it like that…"

I waved my hand, "It's fine… I understand this is just us being unlucky. We have our own group that we're travelling with so there's no need for you to bother with us."

He opened his mouth and looked like he was about to say something when Bob pointed his finger at him with a raised eyebrow, "You… You're an Off-Worlder aren't you?"

Oh come on Bob… Even I guessed that it might be the case but at least have some tact about it… Like what if his companions don't even know that? You can't just out him as one just like that!

Look, all of them are looking shocked and… Wait… Why are they pointing their weapons at us?

"So you're one of them… Guess we have no choice but to fight…" The longswordsman growled.

What? Why?!!
