Chapter Vol. 6 Ch. 103
"Wow—this smells so good!"
Heidou looked at her swollen little belly, her face full of happiness and satisfaction as she staggered out of the barbecue restaurant.
Except for Yan Xin Ya, she had eaten the most, and now she could hardly walk, letting out a satisfied burp that still carried the aroma of the barbecue.
The little savior tugged at her hand and wobbled behind her, but her expression was the complete opposite—she kept looking back at the people at the counter, glancing anxiously at them.
"Cold drink—"
"What's wrong?"
She saw Heidou sitting on a chair at the restaurant door, with tears nearly welling up in her eyes. "Mom won’t let me eat!"
"Who told you to eat so much ice cream?"
Heidou proudly raised her legs and reclined comfortably, feeling the delicious food settle in her stomach, even though her stomach didn’t feel so good.
Although she had taken medicine, the little savior had overeaten ice cream that morning, causing indigestion. Ning Chu had been careful and didn’t let her eat much—just a taste of each item.
"Why are you crying now? Ning Chu, did you bully her?"
Ning Chu walked out of the store with graceful steps, smiling as she asked.
"Yes, yes! You didn’t let me eat what she ate," Heidou jumped up from the chair excitedly, "Sister! You didn’t eat much either! That snowflake steak was really good!"
"It was too greasy, I couldn’t handle it."
The main reason was that Ning Chu was wearing a fitted skirt today. She made sure to suck in her stomach while walking to avoid drawing attention to her little belly, and didn’t dare to eat too much.
Ever since she started gaining weight, she had to be mindful of her appearance, so as not to embarrass herself.
Before leaving, Wen Yang had still been at home, lifting the child and rubbing her belly, a bad habit he hadn't shaken off.
"Next time, no more sneaking ice cream, okay?"
"I won’t eat it!"
Her little head shook rapidly, even her tail seemed to reject the idea.
"Tomorrow, you’ll just eat regular food," Ning Chu gently rubbed her small waist, her forehead lightly glistening with sweat. "If you overeat like this, next time I won’t care. You’ll be stuck in the bathroom all day."
"Oh~"
"Your mom’s just stubborn. When you had a fever in the middle of the night, she was crying in a panic."
The daughter tilted her head and looked at her mother, clearly understanding.
Wen Yang!
Ning Chu turned back and shot him a glare, rolling her eyes after he exited the barbecue restaurant. "You’re such a pig, getting more panicked than I did when you had a fever!"
"That’s just how new moms are. No matter what happens to the daughter, they’ll always look so worried," Wen Yang responded.
The daughter softened, resting her head against the yellow fur of his leg.
"As long as you listen well when you’re with Wen Yang," Ning Chu had never imagined she would end up with such a peaceful man by her side.
"Next time, you won’t act up so much, okay?"
If Heidou had other children, Ning Chu would certainly add this responsibility to her list of concerns.
Once in Wen Yang’s embrace, it felt like a form of comfort, the entire person leaning into his chest as they walked silently toward the door.
"Are you that happy?"
"Wang said a lot, the rabbit mom is waving her paws in her heart!"
Luckily, Lili had heard those words at the end, though Ning Chu hadn’t noticed.
"How can we make everyone grow up better?" Yan Xin Ya asked.
"Throw Heidou to the little black hands."
"Maybe they think people with big bellies are more fun, but why not spread it five hundred times?"
"It’s very interesting, right?"
"I wonder when Xin Xin and the rabbit got so close, chatting so much when shopping?"
"Does Lili want to do something? Always afraid of this and that."
"You can’t enjoy yourself if you talk too much, it’s really tormenting."
"Let’s hope she gave birth to a beautiful, enchanting magical girl."
"I think it sounds too good to be true!" Ning Chu said, somewhat distracted, her eyes narrowing in thought. "What’s next for you all? Who’s taking the lead?"
"Shopping to digest!"
"Where are we going shopping?!"
Zhang Shaoqing, busy with a bunch of bags, shouted loudly, "I’m NOT going!"
"Who’s going shopping?"
Xin Ping came into the mall to shop, tossing a bag at Zhang Shaoqing’s hand after buying everything, now surrounded by bags.
Actually, the few of them had bought a couple of bags, Wen Yang had a hand-held bag hanging over his shoulder, and Yan Xin Ya’s husband carried several bags of small milk teas.
"Didn’t we say we were going to see fireworks?"
Wang raised the topic, referring to Wen Yang’s earlier suggestion.
But Wen Yang shot him a glance, "Shopping is nice, isn’t it?"
"**! You want to go off with Ning Chu for some alone time, right?!"
Zhang Shaoqing opened his eyes in anger, "Call everyone! I’ll go through the pain with you."
"Where are we going to see fireworks?" Yan Xin Ya asked while grabbing a cup of milk tea from her husband. "Are they nice?"
"Park, nothing special."
"We’re getting married!" The place was dark, and you wonder how fireworks are in such a situation!
Wen Yang looked embarrassed, even though he and Ning Chu usually played it low-key, they had never been in a situation where people would make fun of them like this.
The last time Ning Chu and Wen Yang watched fireworks was quite a while ago, and they couldn’t find a good spot in the park. But now, things were different.
"This time, we’re able to enjoy the view from a better spot."
Ning Chu’s mind calmed down. Unfortunately, there were too many "lightbulbs" around.
It was still early, but the grassy slopes of the park already had many people gathering to watch the fireworks.
Some were strolling slowly, while the lights in the trees along the roadside illuminated the area, casting a soft glow.
Wen Yang pulled out a mat from the car’s trunk, spread it on the grass, and set up. Yan Xin Ya’s skirt was tucked under, and she was holding the small milk tea they had bought earlier, enjoying it.
Having eaten a lot at the barbecue, Zhang Shaoqing’s stomach still seemed like a bottomless pit.
Ning Chu sat down with her legs crossed, hugging her knees, staring at the sky, which was dark and endless.
She even felt the cool breeze playing with her long hair.
"Good mosquitoes?"
"She’s complaining," she muttered, "We came to see mosquitoes?"
It was already October, and yet it was still around thirty degrees, with people still wondering about the heat.
The mosquitoes were still very active, buzzing in swarms under the lights, almost resembling a cloud of darkness.
"Did you all bring mosquito repellent?"
Ning Chu turned to glare at Yan Xin Ya. "Lili, you magical girl should be immune to mosquitoes, your face is full of strange intent."
Wen Yang had come prepared and brought a bottle of mosquito repellent. "You should all use more."
"Well, I have magic, and you have a husband~"
She hummed while applying repellent to her arms and legs, then called out to her daughter, "Rescue! Come here!"
It seemed her stomach wasn’t hurting anymore. The moment they arrived at the park, the daughter went wild.
She and Wolf-girl’s son ran around, their small bodies unsteady on the grass, completely ignoring Ning Chu’s calls.
"Be careful! Don’t—"
Before Ning Chu could finish her sentence, her daughter tripped over her own feet, falling flat on the ground, crying non-stop. Heidou rushed over to comfort her.
Both Ning Chu and Wen Yang sighed in concern.
"How are we going to deal with this in the future?"
What do you think?
