Chapter Vol. 6 Ch. 102
“I’ll be honest with you, you should’ve just left Heidou with me back then.”
“You didn’t have the money for spaying back then, fine, but after you graduated and got a job, you could’ve easily done it. Why didn’t you hurry and get it done? Now look, you can’t even find her after she ran off.”
“I’ve only ever raised that one cat, and now you’ve gone and lost it!”
“She was definitely spayed! After all these years, you couldn’t have at least given me one of her kittens~”
After dinner, they headed home. It was as if the night before New Year’s Eve had come early, with the outside temperature dropping and fewer pedestrians around. Zhang Shaoqing went to a nearby mall, but couldn’t find anything he liked, so he brought back some pastries. After washing up, he walked into the living room and saw a black-haired, straight-haired cat-girl, clutching a little savior, glaring at him with a resentful look.
He stood there dumbfounded and confused, not knowing what he had done to upset her.
“Hehe, your empty demon looks pretty good~”
Ning Chu turned her head to look out the window, mumbling her complaint.
“Damn! I was just saying it casually! Why are you acting like a kid pretending to be something else?”
“Is anyone really bold enough to ask Zhang Jie for a cat-girl?”
“Stop talking, who did that?”
Zhang Shaoqing felt something was a bit off. Ning Chu’s gaze also made him feel a bit awkward, but he didn’t care much about the fact that someone hadn’t seen him for years.
He turned around frequently, looking at the cat-girl in the back. “Catch, little savior, you can’t turn into a cat-girl, right?”
“Can’t someone catch Heidou? What do we do now? Will the cat-girl become famous?”
“What happens if she gets caught?”
“Don’t keep mentioning Heidou; the store shouldn’t be in a hurry to bring it up, right?”
“What about Heidou? Should I go back to that place?”
“Since you have so many pictures, you can upload them to more places.”
“Take care, sis! Hurry and manage him!”
Ning Chu shot Zhang Shaoqing a glare and grabbed his ear.
“I’m innocent!”
“I’m innocent! I’m trying hard, unlike Ning Chu!”
“And then?”
“After being hit by Xin Xin, Zhang Shaoqing used his face to block her hand hard.”
“Laughing so brightly and loudly, Zhang Shaoqing could hardly contain himself.”
“Sis, what’s the plan today?” Heidou, clutching the little savior, trotted over eagerly.
“We’ll shop first, then Shaoqing’s treating us to barbecue. I heard it’s a fancy place, over a thousand per person.”
“Oh~ Heidou, who was just uninterested, perked up immediately at the mention of a big meal, wagging her tail in excitement.”
“Sis! Don’t worry about playing! I’ll watch the house for you! Just don’t forget me for the barbecue!”
Ning Chu knocked Heidou on the head. “How old are you and still so greedy?”
“Barbecue that costs a thousand per person! I’ve never eaten something this good in my life!”
“Seems like I’ve eaten it before…” Ning Chu muttered while glancing at Wen Yang.
“Back when I worked with Wen Yang in Shanghai, we occasionally had nice meals. But ever since we came back, with the addition of a little one, we don’t even go out for big meals anymore, let alone shop.”
Now that Wen Yang had opened his own business, their family’s situation was much better than before, even though they couldn’t compare to big companies. Almost all expenses now fell on the women.
Wen Yang looked down at his phone and suggested, “How about we skip the KTV and go to the new bar downstairs from the company?”
“A bar? Still drinking?” Ning Chu frowned.
“It’s the weekend, and we should relax. It’s time to unwind,” Wen Yang explained.
After thinking for a moment, Ning Chu agreed. “Heidou, take care of the house for me!”
“Okay!”
Later that night, they went to watch fireworks!
The women in the dark night raised their hands, excited and shouting, "Fireworks!"
"What fireworks?!" Yan Xin Ya heard the noise and rushed over. "We’re not going to KTV, but to watch fireworks?"
Xi Xi got excited, “Yay! I never liked singing anyway!”
Wen Yang opened his mouth, but the words got stuck.
He still had the shadow of the mountain, his face filled with sorrow, just watching Ning Chu gasping for air in the small room.
“Ning Chu, are you alright?”
Wen Yang tried to comfort Ning Chu, saying to himself, "We haven’t even seen fireworks yet."
“Don’t worry, we’ll change the plan.”
“Let her grow a bit more, and this year we can go to Grandpa’s house to set off fireworks.”
“Right.”
This activity was now even more restricted, with the prohibition on fireworks making it so that the daughter hadn’t even heard the sound of firecrackers in public much.
In the mall, less than half an hour passed, and the group made their way into the large shopping mall.
They quickly split into two clear groups: one group of men wandered around buying shoes and bags, while the women rushed to buy.
Ning Chu found a pink princess dress at a specialty store. "This dress is perfect for the little savior!"
"Right!"
"It’s perfect for Xi Xi too! Try it on?"
"I don’t have one!" Xi Xi’s hair stood up, shaking her head furiously, "How could a children’s store have my size!"
"It’s really her mistake, she’ll probably be closer next year."
Ning Chu looked down at Xi Xi with a curious expression.
“How tall are you?”
“Come over here! There’s a mannequin here! You can compare!”
“No!” Xi Xi grabbed Lili’s arm. “Lili sis, save me!”
Then Lili straightened up, silently gesturing with her hand on Xi Xi’s head.
“Don’t come over here!” Xi Xi rolled her eyes.
“If it’s this magic!”
“Magic can do anything!”
“Magic is about the mood, you know!”
“Lili, you try it!”
Lili paused, then turned her head away without answering.
“What happened? Did you raise her to death?”
Xi Xi answered curiously, “No, Lili sis is still a magical girl—I can even bring out her business card.”
“Teaching students and mentoring research, Lili answered casually, before hurriedly pulling Xi Xi outside the store. “Let’s buy high heels.”
“???”
Ning Chu looked at Lili with confusion, wondering what was going on in the storyline.
“So she turned into a human just like Heidou? What happened to her?”
Heidou perked up her ears sharply, "What’s wet again? What’s wrong with sister?"
Always with her mind full of moisture.
“Don’t mention this in front of the little savior, you’ll spoil everything, and it’s all your fault.”
What do you think?
