Chapter 26: Chapter 26 Wine (1)
Her eyes curved into a smile, always looking beautiful.
Aiden Jiang naturally felt pleased, just about to wave his hand and say something, when his gaze inadvertently fell on her wrist holding the phone.
Mia Ginger was thin and fair, wearing a black short-sleeved shirt due to the summer heat.
Her fair skin was exposed.
The red marks on her wrist were very noticeable, vaguely discernible as fingerprints.
Aiden Jiang’s face darkened, and after the assistant left, he directly asked Mia, "What happened to your wrist?"
As soon as he spoke, everyone in the living room looked up.
Charlotte Chester felt a pang in her heart and quickly said, "I was supposed to take her shopping for clothes this morning as you said, but a guy called, and off she went."
Charlotte looked at Aiden, "Naturally, the clothes weren’t bought. Zuri kindly got her a phone, yet she didn’t like it, and I grabbed her wrist and scolded her a bit in anger, didn’t use much force."
"Is that so?" Aiden asked Mia, looking a bit weary and helpless between the brows.
"..." Mia glanced at Charlotte.
"I’m sorry, Dad," she said softly.
Aiden was fair and composed, but he was incredibly busy, already having been through a lot because of her, so Mia naturally didn’t want to bother him with trivial things.
Especially since even a just official would find it hard to judge family matters.
"If you didn’t buy them, then so be it." Aiden took out a bank card from his wallet and handed it to her, "I’ve put some pocket money in here for you, the password is your birthday. If you don’t like having someone with you, just go by yourself, and if it’s not enough money, let me know."
"Sis hasn’t spent family money since she turned eighteen." Bob Ginger happened to come downstairs, raising his eyebrows and saying discontentedly.
"Dad, I..." Mia didn’t reach out her hand.
"Take it." Aiden unceremoniously pushed the bank card into her hand, along with her newly issued ID card, and ruffled her hair, "Take the computer back to your room and play."
"Okay." Mia pressed her lips together and nodded.
She bent over to pick up the computer and turned to go upstairs.
As her figure disappeared at the hallway entrance, Aiden naturally caught Bob to scold him, and incidentally said a few words to Charlotte too, not too lightly or severely.
Charlotte’s vanity and competitiveness had gradually gotten worse.
How could he not know?
Charlotte showed favoritism towards Zuri, and naturally was unfair in her treatment of Mia. Aiden was very aware, yet he could only do so much.
After all, he was a man, and couldn’t attend to every household matter.
Aiden sighed and went to his study.
...
Upstairs, in the bedroom.
Mia saved Koa Jackson’s phone number and address on her phone.
Lying on the edge of the bed, she thought for a moment, pursing her lips as she composed a text message, "I’m Mia Ginger, this is my phone number, you can contact me directly if there’s anything in the future."
She clicked send.
After sending the message, she turned to the computer and discovered that the wireless network was already connected.
She happened to have something to do, so she logged into her QQ account.
As soon as she went online, several avatars in the friends list started flashing eagerly.
Mia clicked them open one by one.
