Chapter 24: Chapter 24: Opening School Gift (1)
Charlotte Chester’s smile froze at the corners of her lips, her indigo brows furrowed.
A look of displeasure.
Zuri Ginger’s eyes suddenly dimmed with expectation, and she looked at her with a forced smile: "Is that so? But you guys have gone out to play for so long, it must feel quite close."
"You’re overthinking." Mia Ginger pushed the phone towards her hand, glanced at Charlotte Chester, "If there’s nothing else, I’ll go upstairs to rest now."
There were several matters waiting for her, she had to use the computer in the study.
Mia Ginger stood up, ready to go upstairs.
"Stop!" Charlotte Chester suddenly stood up as well, "I told you to buy clothes and you didn’t go, went out and mixed with unsavory people till this hour, look at your attitude when you come back!"
Mia Ginger faced away from her, not speaking.
"Zuri specially bought you a phone, who are you showing that face to?" Charlotte Chester glanced at the aggrieved Zuri Ginger and was even more furious, indignantly.
"Specially bought a phone for me?"
Mia Ginger laughed playfully, suddenly turned around and stared directly at Charlotte Chester, "What are you trying to do? Want me to voluntarily give up the marriage contract? So she can replace me?"
"You!" Her plans uncovered, Charlotte Chester’s face turned pale with anger.
"You just came back, don’t even know basic manners, what do you have that matches others?" Charlotte Chester looked at her displeased, "You insist on fighting for this, but have you thought, why would Koa Jackson be interested in you, why would the Jackson Family recognize you? You think they suggested first trying to understand each other for a while instead of directly getting engaged?"
"Why?" Mia Ginger looked calm.
"You’re not qualified," Charlotte Chester made it clear, "They’re dissatisfied and uneasy with you, so they came up with this compromise! Koa Jackson grew up abroad, his habits are naturally very different from yours, living together?"
Charlotte Chester laughed angrily, "How many more jokes do you want to make?"
"Me?" Mia Ginger tucked the stray short hair on her cheek behind her ear, "I’m just curious how many good things sister bought you today for you to question me like this?"
"How can you speak like that?"
Zuri Ginger, who had been silent, was clearly displeased, brows deeply furrowed, "What do you mean bought good things for mom? Is it wrong to show filial piety to elders, from your mouth it sounds twisted."
Looking helpless, Zuri Ginger stared at her, "Mia Ginger, do you really need to speak with sarcasm to feel comfortable? It’s so easy to hurt people."
"Yes, sister is gentle and kind, trouble to comfort mom well." Mia Ginger’s patience ran out, just as she was about to turn away, Charlotte Chester suddenly reached out and clutched her wrist tightly.
Her grip was strong, Mia Ginger was caught off guard and staggered, as she looked up, a slap came towards her face.
Her eyes burning, she met the infuriated Charlotte Chester.
Charlotte Chester seemed surprised she would bravely raise her face, hesitated, and the nearby slap stopped in mid-air, not landing.
Mia Ginger looked at her, letting out an extremely indifferent sneer.
Charlotte Chester’s anger flared, the phone in the living room suddenly rang sharply.
The uneasy Little Miller standing by was just about to answer, relieved, "Yes, yes. Then I will let the young lady answer the phone."
She covered the phone and lowered her voice, "Young Master Jackson’s, looking for the second miss."
Charlotte Chester instinctively let go of Mia Ginger’s hand.
Mia Ginger rubbed her wrist, twice tightly gripped by two people, her fair sensitive skin, her wrist was red with a circle, exposed, striking as if it had been abused.
What do you think?
