“What warning? The horde we encountered was threatening the balance of this world!” Mirra retorted defiantly.

The Grand Chieftain narrowed his eyes, baring his fangs in a predatory smile. “The goblins were attempting to test your resolve, not threaten your existence. Deep within the Underlands lies a power that could either be a boon or a bane to both our worlds. You are now involved, whether by choice or fate.”


Da stepped forward, feeling the weight of the moment pressing heavily upon him. “If you allow us, we could help resolve whatever threat is present. We didn’t come to conquer or destroy; we came to learn and to safeguard our home.”

Shadow Tooth studied Da closely, assessing his sincerity. “Your resolve shines brightly, Waker of Threads, but you face challenges beyond your understanding within the Underlands. The balance is delicate, and the repercussions of our actions could ripple into your realm.”

“What kind of trial?” Da asked, uncertainty creeping into his voice.
