Chapter 200
Tiel suddenly recalled Ilum's words.
"However, we don’t know how long this will remain open. Renato's power has almost completely faded. It’s probably because Karl has awakened. Once Renato's power is entirely gone, this door will never open again."
The reason this massive underground chamber was still operational was because the power of Renato Virhilio Everard, the deceased head of the Everard family from hundreds of years ago, still lingered.
The problem was that they didn’t know how much longer that power would last.
Ilum had said that Renato’s power had weakened to the point that they didn’t know when this place would close again.
What that meant was...
‘It’s a situation where it wouldn’t be strange if this place collapsed at any moment.’
Only then did Tiel realize the true nature of the loud sound.
The Everard underground chamber was collapsing! Ilum’s face had turned a pale blue.
"It’s collapsing!" he shouted. Tiel turned her head toward where Ilum was looking.
At the end of Ilum’s gaze, there was a statue positioned at the corner, and water was leaking from beneath it.
Before long, there was a crackling sound as the statue's neck snapped off.
It was collapsing, from the inside!
Fortunately, the space was vast, and although Renato's protection was weak, it was still there, so it didn’t seem like it would collapse immediately. But at this rate, it would collapse soon.
Karl closed the book Tiel was holding and placed it in her hands.
"Take it, Tiel! It’s best if we leave this place."
What do you think?
