Chapter 458
Elizabeth Ma completely believed the story the police officer had told her.
Her biggest worry now was that the police, in order not to alert the criminals, would continue to keep her locked up in the detention center. She had no idea when she would regain her freedom.
So she looked at the officer with pleading eyes, crying, "Officer, I swear I won't say a word. Just let me go. If you keep me locked up, I'll die in there..."
The officer shook his head gravely and said, "Elizabeth, I still can't trust you. I've seen too many people like you who promise not to tell anyone, but their mouths are faster than anyone else's. As soon as you're out, you'll tell someone about this."
He continued, "And don't think I'm keeping you here just to solve the case. I'm also thinking about your safety!"
"Because once you're out and start talking, if they find out, they might silence you! They could even kill you and frame you with all the evidence, making you their scapegoat!"
What do you think?
