Chapter 925: 925 Bestowing a Crown

Chapter 925: Chapter 925 Bestowing a Crown

The forces of ice and fire erupted wantonly in the void, as if the space had been split into a half of fire and a half of ice.

Anyone who approached this piece of star space, even Immortals, would be either incinerated to ash or shattered by the freeze.

The terrifying battle made everyone stay far away from this star space, with no one daring to be nearby.

The battle between Yan Ruyu and the Treasure God had also intensified, with streams of Jade Light and Treasure Light twinkling in the star space, like a sky full of stars flickering.

However, the colorful Treasure Light was becoming more and more abundant, while the Jade Light seemed to be at a disadvantage.

Emperor Tianshu appeared god-like, his radiant light transforming into the shadow of a deity made of light, directly confronting the Giant Spirit and forcing it into retreat.

The Giant Spirit, possessing boundless strength, was unable to withstand Emperor Tianshu’s Law of Light and was contorted into deformity.

Endless light bombarded the Giant Spirit’s body, striking him onto a planet, which, under the brilliance of that light, was directly blasted apart.

In front of Emperor Tianshu, the Giant Spirit had no power to counterattack.

The battle between Tian Jiuyou and Gu Xia was peculiar and bizarre; space kept changing inexplicably, yet all that could be caught were the afterimages left by Gu Xia.

Gu Xia’s speed was too fast; Tian Jiuyou was only seeing the Gu Xia of the past.

It seemed that Gu Xia’s speed had surpassed time, and the Tian Jiuyou who could see him was not seeing his present self.

But Gu Xia was also unable to attack Tian Jiuyou; no matter how fast he was, it seemed like there was an impenetrable distance between them.

Suddenly, Tian Jiuyou closed his eyes, no longer using his eyes to see Gu Xia.

Tian Jiuyou struck out with a palm, and the entire space seemed to warp along with his palm.

“As long as my speed is fast enough, no force can catch up to me. Tian Jiuyou, you cannot win against me,” echoed Gu Xia’s voice all around.

Tian Jiuyou paid no attention to him; as his palm descended slowly, Gu Xia suddenly found himself entering a loop. No matter how fast he was, he seemed to be only spinning in one space, as if he was caught in an endless maze.

Moreover, as Tian Jiuyou’s palm struck down, the area in which Gu Xia could move became increasingly smaller, until in the end, it seemed as if Gu Xia was just spinning in place.

“No…” Gu Xia, facing the falling palm of Tian Jiuyou, watched as space continuously cracked open, his twisted face finally showing terror.

Bang!

That massive palm, like a sky-covering behemoth, directly shattered Gu Xia’s body, he didn’t even have time to scream in agony.

“Trash.” Tian Jiuyou disdainfully wiped the blood off his hand, as if he had swatted a mere mosquito.

Above the fragmented body of Gu Xia, a glow rose up, condensing into a radiant crown that slowly ascended.

In the void, strands of Order Light Chains stretched out, wrapping around the crown and absorbing the energy within it. As more and more Order Light Chains entwined, the crown was fixed in the middle of the void.

Tian Jiuyou paid no heed to the Immortal Crown, for it was the Crown of Speed, and those who had not cultivated the Law of Speed, or the Nirvana Beings who had understood it, even Dharma Kings, could not take the crown.

The situation suddenly reversed, and the Celestial Race, which originally seemed on the verge of annihilation, now held an absolute advantage.

The tragic death of Gu Xia unsettled the Pseudo-Immortal Creatures Corps, and their offensive momentarily faltered.

The many Immortals of the Celestial Race fought with all their might, seeing the dawn of victory.

Tian Jiuyou glanced through the void, intending to go to support Yan Ruyu, but suddenly noticed within the Pseudo-Immortal Creatures Corps, a figure crossing the void and coming forth.

The figure was shrouded entirely within their cloak, with only a pair of eyes visible.

Those eyes, however, were unlike those of humans, resembling the compound eyes of a fly, composed of numerous hexagons that incessantly pulsed with light.

“Finally, you’ve emerged,” said Tian Jiuyou, fixing his gaze on The Cloaked One as he flashed across space to confront him.

“At last, I meet you, Clan Leader,” Tian Jiuyou said, looking at the figure.

“You should not have betrayed us,” came The Cloaked One’s voice, devoid of any human emotion.

“I have never betrayed my own people,” Tian Jiuyou retorted with a twist of his mouth.

Expecting The Cloaked One to be enraged, instead, he merely nodded slightly: “From that perspective, you truly have not betrayed us.”

“To think that the Clan Leader of the God-making Race is a person of clear logic, since you understand, there’s no more to say. Let me see who you really are,” declared Tian Jiuyou, striking with a palm toward The Cloaked One.

The space shattered, spreading out like a spider web.

The various hexagons in The Cloaked One’s eyes flickered unpredictably, some brightening, some dimming, constantly shifting.

He moved, passing through the fractured space like a ghost evading Tian Jiuyou’s attack.

Tian Jiuyou’s gaze sharpened; this person had effortlessly passed through the closed space he created.

Ignoring Tian Jiuyou, The Cloaked One headed toward the Crown of Speed that lay within the void, and with a single step, he traversed the vacuum, reaching the Crown wrapped by the Order Light Chain and grabbed it into his hand.

The Light Chains of Order entwined around the crown all shattered, and the crown fell lightly into his palm.

Witnessing this scene, Tian Jiuyou’s expression turned extremely grave.

The Cloaked One was unquestionably not of the Speed Series, but he was able to pluck the Crown of Speed barehanded; just this action was beyond imagination.

After taking the Crown of Speed, The Cloaked One nonchalantly threw it into the midst of the Pseudo-Immortal Creatures Corps.

The Pseudo-Immortal Creatures scrambled towards the crown in a frenzy, brutally fighting each other, with countless casualties. In the end, the crown settled upon the head of one Pseudo-Immortal Creature.

An incredible event took place, leaving even Tian Jiuyou in disbelief at what unfolded before his eyes.

That obviously non-Speed Series Pseudo-Immortal Creature had put on the Crown of Speed, which accepted it, pouring streams of the Law of Speed into the creature’s being.

In an instant, an Immortal King of the Speed Series was born.

“Roar!” The newly-crowned Immortal King let out a heaven-shaking roar and charged toward Tian Jiuyou, its speed rivaling that of Gu Xia.

Everyone was shocked; indeed, to become a Dharma King of a particular series, slaying a Dharma King or an Immortal King Creature is a shortcut.

But there was a prerequisite: the user of the crown must have profound understanding and mastery of that series, or else the Immortal King’s crown would not acknowledge them.

Just like Tian Jue, his Realm was already sufficient to become an Ice Series Dharma King, so after the Stasis Ice Lotus’s demise, the Immortal King’s crown actively chose him.

But what was that Pseudo-Immortal Creature to be recognized as an Immortal King?

Yet it happened, and everyone knew that the Pseudo-Immortal Creature’s rise to Immortal King had nothing to do with itself—it was all because of The Cloaked One’s presence.

“How could such a power exist in the world, to forcibly control the Immortal King’s crown, allowing anyone to become a Dharma King? This must be a power that only gods possess, right?” Tian Xiaocao murmured to herself, gazing at the Immortal King charging toward Tian Jiuyou in the sky.

Tian Xiaoya and the others were brimming with astonishment. Since when had becoming an Immortal King become so cheap? What was the point of their dedicated cultivation, if it was worth less than a simple gesture from someone else?
