Chapter 567: Chapter 565: Subsequent Daily Life
The war is about to break out, time is pressing, and after the meeting ended, the Arcane Wizards quickly left the Supreme Council and returned to their respective stations.
“Spark Wizard, what business do you have stopping me?”
“You have misunderstood me deeply, I think it is necessary to have a talk with you.”
At the peak of truth, Spark purposefully chased after Ivan to the number 3 Sky Street of the Great Scholar’s Court and proposed to have a private talk with him. Ivan’s attitude remained extremely cold.
“As our paths differ, we have no common purpose; there’s nothing worth discussing between us.”
“Perhaps we can have a sparring match.”
“No problem.”
Spark’s face also turned chilly.
Seeing someone approaching, Spark hurriedly flew away.
The people who arrived one after another were Hotter and Candi; Spark did not want to hear Hotter’s mocking words.
“Ivan, what did that hypocritical fellow want from you?” Hotter shouted from a distance.
“Said he wanted to spar a bit,” Ivan replied casually.
“You didn’t agree, did you?” Upon hearing this, Hotter quickly moved closer.
“Why should I refuse someone willing to help me verify what I’ve learned?” said Ivan.
“You— couldn’t have already condensed an Elemental King Body, could you?” Noticing his confidence, Hotter pondered for a few seconds before considering a possibility.
“Just before receiving the notification from the King of Ten Thousand Woods, I had just condensed it,” Ivan admitted truthfully.
“Well, no wonder you are not afraid of him,” Hotter uttered in awe.
At this moment, Ivan had not only condensed the Elemental King Body, but his body also harbored a Life Core. The mutual enhancement of varying powers brought about effects that were more complex than a simple sum.
“Wizard Candi, I’ve been looking forward to meeting you.”
Ivan turned his eyes to the mature woman standing silently on the side, a woman that was mature in every aspect, also sporting a unique blue cascade of hair.
At first glance, she was a cool beauty, comparable to Grace, yet more matured in stature.
“When did you find out?” asked Candi.
“When I learned that you were also a member of the Five Leaves Spear. In fact, I had joined the Five Leaves Spear quite some time ago. Let’s go to my sorcerer tower, the three of us can discuss the details of this upcoming trip to the Underground World.”
His words were undoubtedly abrupt, but Ivan, being no ordinary person, started discussing the official matters along.
Though it was his first day meeting Candi, he wasn’t unfamiliar with this Arcane Wizard.
Wizard Candi’s personality, how to put it—lazy, slow, and tactless; that was Hotter’s assessment of her. In short, she was difficult to deal with, especially when you wanted her to do something.
According to Hotter, compared to her, Grace was simply a warm and generous person.
Ivan didn’t know why the Ice Queen specifically named Candi to go to the Underground World. Given it was a fact now, it formed an aid, and the tasks definitely needed to be assigned for the two to handle.
The three arrived at the Golden Rock Tower council hall.
“Ivan, do you know more details about that matter discussed in the meeting?”
“I’ve always been in the Underground World, you’re asking me?”
“What about you, Candi?”
“The pursuit of the traitor was led by Darwin Randolph, the Dragon Flame King. His schemes failed and he himself was obstructed, still absent to this date. Galif Fitzgerald, the King of the Long Sky, went to handle it.”
Hotter casually asked a question, but Candi let out a shocking piece of information that dumbfounded the other two.
Surely, she heard it from the Ice Queen, but is it really okay to share it so casually?
Ivan and Hotter exchanged looks, sensing something off about this woman.
“Don’t overthink it, I didn’t mention this casually,” Candi seemed to notice their thoughts.
“Isn’t this casual?” commented Hotter.
“You are trustworthy individuals, and besides, we are all members of the Five Leaves Spear,” Candi explained.
“Cough cough, bringing the discussion back on track, let’s talk about the migration of people underground. Just as the King of Ten Thousand Woods feared, this migration might be seen as a signal, leading to jealousy and oppression from nearby races until they drive us out of the Underground World.
Our current territory, Vermilion Bird Valley, is located in the northeastern corner underground. To the north, there’s the Red Hair Giant, a dominant figure in the Northern Territory, and to the east, there are Spider People and Deer People. The Red Hair Giant, being a sub-giant, has a large physique and is unlikely to enter Vermilion Bird Valley. The latter two are the ones we need to be wary of—-”
Seeing the discussion veering off, Ivan promptly steered it back on track.
Merely transporting people to the Underground World isn’t enough; haven’t you heard the King of Ten Thousand Woods emphasize the need for a Sorcerers Academy?
A proper Sorcerers Academy, with the fundamental requirement at least, should be able to cultivate official sorcerers.
And those moving into the Underground World, they need to be self-reliant and self-sufficient.
These and more are aspects that need careful consideration, and are issues the trio needs to discuss and start making arrangements for now.
Listening to Ivan’s statement, Hotter murmured about the trouble.
Candi seemed distracted. When directly asked, she would always deviate from the topic, mentioning irrelevant things.
Ivan didn’t care how the other two thought; he simply laid out the requirements directly. Everyone was an arcane wizard here, and although their personalities differed, their execution abilities were definitely top-notch.
After the discussion, the three split up.
Hotter would journey to Chanay Continent, planning to transfer some members of the Five Leaves Spear from there to the Underground, as the trio couldn’t handle everything themselves and needed others to manage all the minor details.
Once the people were assembled, he would enter the Underground World directly from Moon Pincer Peninsula.
Candi would take over managing and vetting the people entering Vermilion Bird Valley.
Ivan himself was also busy, with many resources needing allocation, and he also had to specially invite some individuals to Vermilion Bird Valley.
As the trio busied themselves, another matter was also progressing rapidly.
Following orders from above, the Black Prison began a harsh purge of the Bloodline Alterators, causing shockwaves across the sorcerer world with numerous people dying as a result.
Even Carmel, who was part of the Black Prison, was affected.
Carmel, who had undergone deep Bloodline Alteration and shared a blood connection with the rebel Monde Watkin, was spared from trouble through Ivan’s intervention, but was expelled from the Black Prison ranks.
After lots of twists and turns, Carmel returned to Moon Pincer Peninsula.
With his current situation, being a Level 2 Sorcerer was probably his limit.
However, now a parent and having experienced much, his wild ambitions had mostly faded, making returning to Moon Pincer Peninsula not such a bad thing.
To Ivan, Carmel’s story was merely a minor episode.
Soon after, Spark actually came to challenge him.
The two dueled, and within minutes, Spark walked away dejectedly; clearly, he was no match for Ivan. But in reality, Ivan couldn’t get the best of him either, since at this critical moment, neither was inclined to reveal their true capabilities in a deadly fight.
The outcome, had it come to a real battle, remains unknown.
What do you think?
