Sorcerer: I want to be an Academic Prodigy

Chapter 566 - 564 Emergency Meeting

Chapter 566: Chapter 564 Emergency Meeting

“Sorcerer Ivan, what exactly is going on?”

“There’s been a call from above, I can’t divulge specifics with you all. Once I’m gone, if you encounter any issues, act accordingly.”

The emergency meeting left them with little time to prepare; this time Ivan decided to return alone, leaving the care of Vermilion Bird Valley to others.

After giving some brief instructions, he set out on his return journey.

Situated in the northeast corner of the first layer of the Underground World, the passage to the surface world was in the Northern Territory; needless to say, Ivan didn’t need to take a detour. He only needed to travel a distance into the Northern Territory before returning through the passage.

Throughout his journey, Ivan deliberately avoided beings and places that could provoke conflict, traveling smoothly with the wind at his back.

Only when passing through the magma layer was he unable to avoid a few exchanges with the Molten Lord.

On May 1st, 3131 of the Betta Calendar, Ivan returned to his domain—Rainbow Domain, arriving three to four days earlier than planned. His return speed was notably swift.

After staying in the Rainbow Domain for two days, he moved into his residence within the Golden Rock Tower at the Peak of Truth.

During these days, he didn’t seek out any news. Such emergency meetings were actually impossible to glean any valuable intel from; it was better to wait peacefully for the meeting to convene and then all would be revealed.

On this day,

At the Summit of Clouds, in the Supreme Council Chamber, some rarely seen titans of the Witch World began to arrive.

“Not very kind of you, not even looking for me when you got back.”

“We’ll talk about the rest later, let’s start the meeting first. The official business is urgent.”

Ivan arrived promptly, and other Arcane Wizards mostly reached the Supreme Council Chamber around this time. He greeted the many he had good relations with, including Hotter.

If Hotter knew Tanaya was still lingering in the Underground, he would probably pester Ivan non-stop. Ivan did not give him the chance to ask questions.

At the center of the Supreme Council Chamber was Truth Hall. The arrangements inside Truth Hall were unusually simple, only added were some tables and chairs for seating. However many top sorcerers there were in the sorcerer world, that many sets of seats would appear in the hall.

As the sorcerers arrived, they took their seats in an orderly fashion, with an aura of solemnity.

The meeting was presided over by the King of Ten Thousand Woods, Gena Swinburne, and the Ice Queen, Ariel Huhumusun. Only half of the chairs in Truth Hall were filled when they declared the start of the meeting.

“First of all, I have some bad news to tell you all. Due to the failure of our previous ‘Bandit Hunting’ mission, the struggle between the sorcerer world and the extreme beast plane could possibly escalate.

When exactly? It could be now, or it could be tomorrow.

In any case, the situation is developing in a direction we don’t wish for. I hope you can all stand firm in your duties, and defend our sorcerers’ knowledge, territories, and dignity with your own power.”

The King of Ten Thousand Woods didn’t beat around the bush, announcing the crux of today’s meeting.

To sum it up in one sentence, the situation in the battle has drastically changed; sorcerers can no longer take things lightly as before.

This made everyone present feel a chill in their hearts. As sorcerers, they preferred to deal with knowledge and truth, not war.

Does this mean that no one will have peaceful days ahead?

The King of Ten Thousand Woods did not care how those opposite him felt, he directly started to delegate various tasks. The sorcerer world’s current extent of territory was not small, once war broke out, it would inevitably affect everything.

Then there were internal issues.

He specifically pointed out a few Arcane Wizards in charge of the Black Prison, instructing them to resolve a series of problems before the war fully erupted, and not to indulge them.

“Any suspicion warrants execution.”

Just a few short words; when enacted below, it would lead to a relentless purge with countless heads falling.

Even though Truth Hall could refute the Void King Wizard, upon hearing these words, no one present spoke out, as it involved the security of the entire sorcerer world, and it was not a time to be soft-hearted.

After discussing internal problems, the King of Ten Thousand Woods began to delegate other matters.

Today’s meeting did not involve academic discussions, only how to respond to the great war.

“Sorcerer Ivan, I’ve heard you’ve opened up two underground habitation sites? Tell us more about the details.”

After a long time, Sorcerer Ivan finally heard his name being called from above.

“They are both located in the gaps of the rock walls of the Underground World, not very big, equivalent to two small-sized cities, and they are connected by a passageway. After adjustment by a Formation, they have become suitable for us humans to live in.”

“Ordinary humans?”

“It’s not impossible. The rock walls of the Underground World are quite unique, capable of purifying power radiation on their own. As long as the setup is there, it’s very possible for ordinary people and sorcerers to coexist.”

His words undoubtedly made many people’s eyes light up, becoming interested in the Underground World.

“To state in advance, it is best to have sunlight provided by sunbirds for living underground; otherwise, even official sorcerers would find it difficult to reside for the long term. So far, I have only brought over one sunbird, and we need to wait a bit longer for another.”

Sorcerer Ivan ignored the various expressions of the people and quickly added.

“No problem, we can first arrange for a batch of people to move down there, and we can establish a Sorcerers Academy.” The King of Ten Thousand Woods and the Ice Queen exchanged glances and directly stated their decision.

“No problem, I have a way to take people there.” Sorcerer Ivan did not refuse.

“The matter of humans moving underground may lead to certain contingencies; we’ll only know the specifics when they occur. You alone, stationed underground, is certainly not enough. Who is willing to assist Sorcerer Ivan?” The King of Ten Thousand Woods continued.

“I will!”

As soon as these words fell, two people stood up.

The two gave each other a look, each finding the other distasteful.

“Spark, what crowd are you joining?” Hotter looked at the other with an unfriendly expression.

“What do you mean joining the crowd? It’s you who likes to meddle. I am going to assist Sorcerer Ivan in the Underground World, to guard the new human habitation.”

Facing his accusation, Spark earnestly explained and nodded to Ivan.

“There’s no need for Spark Wizard to trouble himself.” Before Hotter could argue back, someone spoke up without giving face to Spark, and it was naturally Ivan.

How could he possibly keep a risk by his side as if he didn’t have enough troubles already?

Knowing that there were old grievances, regardless of the other party’s intent, a flat refusal was the most direct solution.

Spark’s face stiffened, and he sat down with a grim expression.
