Ch 101: Level Ups & Unique Path: Threshold.
"Hello boss, something bad happened here. The intruder is several times stronger and trickier than anyone we've faced before. He has several tricks up his sleeve that are hard to believe. All our guards have fallen, and now I am the only one left alive. It looks like the intruder is coming for me to finish off the last suspect." He replied, but there was no response from the other side until later.
"I am here. Don't worry. Stop him if you can. If not, run, escape, or hide, but don't get killed before I arrive."
"Yes, boss. Hurry boss but be alert. This guy has six daggers that he can manipulate like extensions of his hands to kill his enemies while his da..."
/a few minutes later/
"Okay, I understand. Just don't let him get away."
"Okay, boss."
The observer nodded as the call was cut off. He looked at the cameras to see where the intruder was and found him just a few corners away.
After considering whether he could survive in this room or if he should run away, he concluded that staying would make him a caged prey, ready to be served.
A free prey is hard to catch, and he couldn't think of battling the intruder after seeing the guard's brutal death from the intruder's poison.
Yes, the observer thought the guard died such a gruesome death because the intruder used some poison with his unique dagger. As far as Rey knew, no one in this world understood curses and such things yet.
He decided to head outside and stall for time until his boss arrived.
He closed the door to make it seem like he was inside and started to run away.
A few seconds later, Rey was in front of the security room but didn't try to open it. He moved forward in the direction the observer had run off to.
He wasn't moving around randomly, as Aiden was helping him pinpoint the exact location of the fleeing observer.
As he saw the intruder moving toward him while playing with his knife in his hand, he realized that the intruder knew where he was and started to run away.
He ran everywhere to hide and save his life, but wherever he went, the intruder reached there as if he were reading his mind.
After getting tired of running, he decided to face the intruder, knowing that one way or another, he was going to die, whether by his boss's hands or this intruder's.
Even time seemed to be moving very slowly, as if the gods themselves wanted him dead.
"Here we go. I die or survive. It now depends on this attack," he said as he hid behind a corner and saw the intruder rushing toward his location.
He backed away a little and pointed the gun straight ahead, ready to shoot.
As he saw the boot of the intruder below, he didn't wait and started to shoot repeatedly without looking, thinking that at least one bullet should have pierced him.
But when his ammo ran out and he looked in front of him, he was greeted only by the floor pierced by his bullets—the intruder was not in front of him.
Before he could react, a dagger pierced his heart from behind, coming straight out of his chest.
His sight grew blurry as blood poured from his wound and mouth.
The intruder pulled out the dagger, and the man fell to the ground. He looked back to see the intruder one last time before dying, but what he saw was something he didn't expect.
After some shock, a large grin formed on his face as he saw someone standing behind the intruder.
Rey, confused by the smile, looked back to see what it was and found a man standing a few meters away from him.
His height was about 6 feet, age about 30 to 40 years old and well-built body made his appearance quite deadly with anger flashing on his face.
The guy who appeared in front of Rey was none other than the photo guy he saw before, and Rey understood that this guy was the Director, whom he thought wouldn't be able to reach him before he left.
But now, Rey faced this guy because of his single mistake of not killing the guy much earlier.
At first, he thought not to kill him, but Aiden told him not to leave behind any suspects, so he agreed. As the guy started to run away, Rey felt joy in the chase, but now he regretted it.
The guy standing in front of him was someone Rey could only flee from, not someone he could battle and win against.
"Guys, I'm getting away from here. I don't think I can kill him like these guys," Rey told his spirits, to which they replied,
"Hmm, he looks strong but not strong enough to run away from. He's just in the Initiate Mid rank, ready to ascend to the high one. That's all. I don't think there should be a problem." ~ Aiden
"Yes, I may have defeated him with less power than you for sure." ~ Victor
"<And do you forget who we are? Can't we beat such an easy opponent?>" ~ Zero
All three replied about the opponent he was facing.
'It's much easier to talk while being inside of me,' Rey said to them. Before he could do more, he found the director standing beside him, looking at the observer's body.
"Hmmm, looks like your poison attack is only done by that unique dagger you hold. Then there isn't much fear anymore," the director said. Rey, shocked to see him beside him, backed away and got into a stance to block or dodge any possible attack.
"Now you're getting scared after killing my whole group of people. You shouldn't be like that," the director said as a big single-edged greatsword suddenly appeared in his hand showcasing his Spatial ring.
The Director held the great sword and slashed straight at him without any further delay.
Rey, who was steady, quickly rolled away as the slash hit the wall, breaking it instantly.
A loud bang occurred in the building as the training room wall was destroyed in one strike.
"Well, being a mental cultivator, you're very agile like Weapon master, I think killing you would be a waste. Why don't you join me and come under us? There are many benefits you can get that you can't even imagine in your whole life."
The Director said, as he expected the intruder to be the third rarest type of Martial cultivator in the world of cultivation on Blue Planet.
The cultivation paths were differentiate into three paths in all kingdoms and even the Empire, as three paths which were available based on their unique talents:
1. Weapon Masters: Those who don't have any particular spiritual root and have very low spiritual elemental power but can cultivate Qi. Their main sources of progression are cultivating weapon arts and gears, as high-quality gears equal more power for them. They can also use elements, but their elemental energy is weak due to low-grade spiritual roots.
2. Elemental Adepts: The second rarest cultivators, those who have specific types of spiritual roots which help them manifest and control specific elements. The more elements they possess, the lower the quality becomes. Only those with three or more elements are called adepts; others are classified as weapon masters.
3. Mental Cultivators: The rarest of them all, those who have unique types of spiritual roots, different from common elements like fire, wood, earth, wind, etc. These cultivators have deep indigo or violet roots, which help them excel in mental strength, illusions, mind suppression, psychic force manipulation, telekinesis, and mind-reading abilities. There are very few such beings on Blue planet as the number is like 1 in million to come by.
The Director of the Marital Center of Lumina City, Darius, was thinking him as Mental Cultivators for his Umbral Telekinesis abilities.
"Why aren't you replying? Are you mute, or do you not wish to talk with me? Are you scared?" Darius taunted. Although Rey felt a surge of anger, he remained silent, plotting his escape.
Rey summoned his six daggers and hurled them at Darius, who effortlessly deflected them like pebbles. Undeterred, Rey retracted the daggers and launched another attack, causing minor injuries to Darius's non-vital points. Darius, wary of being poisoned as warned by his worker, continued to fend off the attacks of mostly the unique dagger in all attacks.
Rey called the daggers back, aligning them around him and preparing for another assault. As he feigned an attack, Darius shielded himself with his great sword, but nothing struck. Suspicious, Darius looked up to see Rey fleeing with the daggers in hand.
"You coward, come back here!" Darius shouted, giving chase with incredible speed. He attacked recklessly, unconcerned about the destruction around him, determined to capture Rey and present him to his superior.
Rey, agile and elusive, frantically searched for a way out of his predicament. "Oii, help me, or I am surely going to get caught here," he called out.
"Huh, what can we do? Don't you have any help? Why don't you check your system to see if there's something you can use to hold your ground?"
Aiden hinted at him as Rey quickly opened his system screen upon receiving notifications about the kills he had made and level-up messages, which he thought would take more time to appear.
⟪You have eliminated 33 Humans (Lv.12-21). ⟫
⟪You have gained 8,250 EXP.⟫
⟪Sufficient EXP has been accumulated. Would you like to level up? (Yes/No) ⟫
⟪You have leveled up! ×3 ⟫
⟪You have gained 600 Unallocated Points. ⟫
⟪Relics-designated stats have been integrated into your status. ⟫
⟪Your control over the relics has increased.
➤ Manipulation Level: 0.0001% → 0.0003%
➤ Manifestation Level: 0.001% → .003%
➤ Authority Level: 0.0000000001% → 0.0000000003% ⟫
Rey, after viewing the level behind the points, asked, "Is the level that low for everyone or just me?"
"No, it's the same for everyone, but the growth later matters," Aiden replied, asking him to open his system and view the changes.
Aiden could feel many changes in his body after the stats were added by the relic per level.
Rey was about to see the changes when his whole body started to feel pain for just a second, then he felt fine as usual.
His mind became much clearer, his muscles filled with power, and his body felt as light as a feather. Before he could do anything, he heard a new system notification and looked at it to see the changes happening.
⟪System has detected a massive increase in the Host's stats. ⟫
⟪System is attempting to stabilize Host's body's growth. ⟫
⟪Ding! A unique pathway has been detected and formed: Threshold System. ⟫
⟪Stats suppression has been applied to maintain Rey's stability. ⟫
⟪ [Suppression Effect Applied: 50% Reduction on All Stats, Attributes, and Derived Stats.] ⟫
⟪New System Tabs Have Been Formed And Added:
[Reserve Energy] [Mana Overload] [Potential Strength] [Arcane Potential] [Reinforcement Reserve] ⟫
[Reserve Energy → Stores the suppressed portion of Host's stats, allowing it to be released temporarily during combat or critical moments. Stored in the form of a layer below the original health, to be utilized once the main source is depleted.]
[Mana Overload → Manages excess mana from the suppression effect. When activated, it temporarily boosts Host's MP pool and enhances mana-based attacks. Layered below the original mana bar, to be utilized once the main source is depleted.]
[Potential Strength → Compresses raw strength and stores it as hidden potential, which can be unlocked through techniques, battle experiences, or specific triggers. Stored in body to be unleashed like a second unexpected turn surprising the opponent.]
[Arcane Potential → The suppressed magical power is stored here, allowing Host to unleash additional damage when conditions are met.]
[Reinforcement Reserve → A secondary storage for suppressed defensive stats, granting temporary durability boosts when activated. Layered above host body like a soft invisible membrane giving host body a second layer of defense to guard the body.]
Rey noticed this phenomenon as he quickly opened his status window and found many more complicated words on his screen, leaving him even more confused about what was happening to him.
It seemed as though he was transforming into a formidable boss character with multiple layers of skin and different forms of battles, much like in a game.

And now it has five more tabs and details over his stats.
"What the hell is this thing, Aiden? I feel strong but like some strength is still hiding inside of me."
"Well, the system did what it was supposed to do and found the greatest method to save your life. Now you truly have a path made for you. I don't think I've ever seen a threshold marked thing in health before. Maybe your mind was checked to find a solution and the double bar system was taken from there. Or maybe a new power system path was formed while we were not awake in the worlds." Aiden told him. Rey, who was sure a second ago that he was ready to face Darius, now felt that he could match him in power a little after the stat increase but overpowering him seemed nearly impossible until he looked at his remaining stat points.
But Aiden stopped him from using them just by his expression of thinking to use them.
Just before, his whole body underwent massive changes and he barely survived as the pain he felt back then was the sudden burst of strength he got from his stats, which could have blasted his body. Luckily, his system and Victor prevented that from happening.
Now Rey isn't ready to use them; he must first accommodate with his new body and then try to increase the stats.
"And these stats are enough to hold the ground against this rampaging fool."
Rey didn't agree with Aiden's words. He looked back while running and saw Darius rushing toward him with minor injuries from Rey's attacks with his wooden daggers.
"Playtime is over, kid. Ready to die?" Darius said as he stopped in his tracks, held his sword above his head with both hands, and slashed it down while saying.
"{Titan Cleave!}" He shouted as his sword flashed with Qi and slashed downward and a burst of Qi erupted from his blade. A wave of energy headed toward Rey, who was running forward trying to reach the corner of the long hallway.
The Qi slash came forward quickly, approaching Rey, who was trying his hardest to reach the corner, but before he could do anything.
/Boom/
It hit him, and a blast occurred, destroying the surrounding walls, and dust began to cover the entire area.
"Ahhhh..." A shout came from the front, as Darius's face formed a sinister smile. He began to walk forward to see the split body of the intruder.
"Well, well, well, you really didn't listen to me, and now see, such a rare cultivator, like an unmeasurable gem, is killed in such a way. How sad, but don't worry. Maybe our boss can bring out a profit from your body too." He said as he came closer to look and found blood splashed around the area but....
