Chapter 1: A New Beginning
# Chapter 1: A New Beginning
Meeks never thought of himself as special. He was just a regular guy—an average software engineer who spent his days fixing bugs, drinking too much coffee, and dreaming of a life that wasn’t so boring. But life, as it turned out, had surprises in store for him.
It happened so fast. One second, Meeks was crossing the street on his way home, earbuds blasting a podcast about unsolved mysteries. The next, there was a blinding light and the sound of screeching tires. Then... nothing.
When he opened his eyes again, he wasn’t on the street anymore. He wasn’t anywhere familiar at all. He was floating in darkness—a strange void filled with glowing lights that swirled and shimmered like stars.
‘What the heck is going on?’ Meeks thought, panic rising in his chest.
[Welcome.]
The voice came out of nowhere—deep, calm, and oddly robotic. Meeks flinched, looking around wildly for the source.
“Who’s there? What is this place?” he asked, his voice shaky.
[You have died in your previous world.]
The words hit him like a punch to the gut. “Died? No way! That’s not possible!”
[It is true. Your soul has been chosen for reincarnation into a new realm—a world where science and magic coexist.]
‘Reincarnation? Science and magic? Is this some kind of joke?’ Meeks thought, his mind racing.
Before he could ask more questions, glowing symbols began to form in front of him—lines of text floating in midair like something out of a video game.

“What is this? Some kind of RPG?” Meeks muttered under his breath.
[This is your System—a tool designed to guide your progression in this world.]
‘A System? Like those isekai stories I used to read?’ Meeks thought, feeling equal parts confused and intrigued. ‘Wait… does this mean I’m actually in another world?’
[Correct.]
The voice continued without hesitation, as if reading his thoughts directly. [Your class reflects your unique potential to merge scientific principles with magical practices. You will play a key role in shaping the future of this realm.]
“Key role?” Meeks repeated skeptically. “I’m just some guy who writes code for a living! I don’t know anything about magic—or saving worlds!”
[You will learn.]
Before Meeks could argue further, the void around him began to shift. The glowing lights exploded into color—a swirling vortex that pulled him forward like a tidal wave.
---
When the chaos settled, Meeks found himself lying on soft grass beneath an unfamiliar sky. He blinked up at it, stunned—the sky wasn’t blue like Earth’s; it shimmered with shades of violet and gold, as though painted by an artist who didn’t care about realism.
‘Where am I?’ he thought as he sat up slowly, his head pounding from the sudden change.
The landscape around him was like something out of a fantasy novel—rolling hills covered in glowing plants and strange trees with leaves that sparkled faintly in the sunlight.
“What is this place?” he whispered aloud.
Before he could take it all in, the translucent screen appeared again in front of him.

“A quest?” Meeks said aloud, staring at the screen in disbelief. “This really *is* like an RPG…”
Still sitting on the grass, he looked down at himself and realized his clothes had changed too—his usual jeans and hoodie were gone, replaced by a simple tunic made from some kind of lightweight fabric that shimmered faintly under the strange sunlight.
‘Okay… deep breaths,’ he thought, trying to calm himself down. ‘I don’t know what’s going on here, but freaking out isn’t going to help.’
He stood up shakily, brushing dirt off his tunic as he looked around again. The world was beautiful but strange—alien yet oddly inviting.
“Well,” he said aloud to no one in particular, “I guess I’d better get moving before nightfall.”
As he took his first steps into this new world, Meeks couldn’t shake the feeling that this was just the beginning—that Eryndor had plans for him far bigger than anything he could imagine.
