Chapter 25: 024 Space within Space
Tian Sangsang stared intently at the Jade Thumb Ring. Somehow, it had been stained with her blood, and the blood slowly seeped into the ring until it completely disappeared.
"It disappeared?" She refused to believe her eyes and rubbed them vigorously. Extending her hand, she touched the surface of the ring, then knocked it against the wall twice with a resounding "thud, thud." No abnormalities.
Could there be some blood-sucking demon inside? Suddenly, the Jade Thumb Ring emitted a blinding light, forming a deep green aura, the kind that felt like an endless abyss, enveloping Tian Sangsang.
"Ah!" Tian Sangsang’s body was abruptly suspended in mid-air. She was falling, endlessly falling, with the sound of rushing wind whistling past her ears.
No—her son! Her son! Was she about to traverse through time and space again!? What would happen to her son?
"Bang!" A massive thud echoed as her body hit the ground, causing the surface beneath her to quiver.
Tian Sangsang grimaced and struggled to get her plump body off the ground. Speaking of being overweight... Gravity truly doesn’t hold back. Rubbing her sore arms, legs, and feet, she widened her eyes to observe the surroundings. Her heart raced wildly, a conjecture forming in her mind.
Could it be...?
Dear readers, please keep your phone screens bright—
Above, a blue sky stretched endlessly, with clouds drifting lazily amidst a gentle breeze. In the distance, green mountains layered one over another, their peaks obscured in murmuring harmony. At the foot of the mountains ran a trickling stream that stretched far ahead, leading to thousands of acres of fertile farmland. This land looked rich and promising, the soil lush and nutrient-rich. Yet, oddly enough, in such vast and seemingly boundless land, not a single crop grew. Moreover, the river—let alone fish—even tiny shrimp were absent!
Then, Tian Sangsang noticed a small cave nestled in the mountain ravine. From the cave’s entrance flowed spring water with a crisp "plop plop" sound. This must be the spring’s source, spilling out into the pool below. The pool radiated gentle heat—could this be a hot spring?
Although the place lacked any signs of life, the crystal-clear stream and inviting spring water delighted Tian Sangsang’s senses. She scooped up a handful of spring water and splashed it on her face, instantly feeling renewed and refreshed. She then cupped some to drink; the taste was cool and sweet, unlike any water she’d ever tasted.
After exploring these sights, her gaze landed on a courtyard house nearby. The house had a simple and elegant appearance, exuding an old-fashioned dignity. Perhaps there was something mysterious hidden inside.
Just as she intended to step closer for a better look, a mirage in mid-air caught her attention.
Tian Sangsang gasped sharply, her mouth agape, wide enough to fit an egg inside. What a miraculous sight it was!
In the vaporous mist-like air above, she could clearly see an image of the present-day world she once lived in. So far away, yet so achingly close...
A bustling street filled with endless streams of people coming and going. Among them were sophisticated urban professionals, vibrant college students, sweet couples, and hurried office workers... All of them wore smiles, walking and chatting in groups. Surrounding them were various restaurants, KFCs, Pizza Huts, McDonald’s outlets, Starbucks cafes, jewelry shops, clothing stores, snack stands, and salons. Far off rose a skyscraper stretching into the clouds, its base housing a comprehensive shopping mall.
It was so lifelike, incredibly vivid.
This was her era, her time. Could she possibly return home now?
A flicker of joy and emotion surfaced on Tian Sangsang’s face as she slowly reached out her hand. Suddenly, the scene shifted, and she had entered the space depicted.
This location seemed like a piece of her country from long ago, yet it wasn’t her hometown. What happened to her brother and mother? She wandered aimlessly through the streets, lost in thought. A girl holding a camera turned and glanced at her. The girl was absolutely adorable, and Tian Sangsang waved at her. The girl ran toward her with open arms. Curiously, something strange happened. The girl seemed to pass straight through her body, as though she were nothing more than air!
Tian Sangsang turned to look back and saw a woman holding the hand of a little girl walking away.
What was going on? Could they not see her?
A whiff of an enticing aroma suddenly drifted into Tian Sangsang’s nose. Not far away, there was a shop selling grilled skewers. The golden-brown squid skewers emitted the mouthwatering fragrance of grilled meat. Tian Sangsang swallowed her saliva involuntarily and walked over. She waved her hand in front of the uniformed staff member—his expression remained unchanged. Her heart leapt with sneaky delight as she extended her naughty hand to pick up a skewer. Just as she touched it, an invisible force repelled her hand, and in the next moment, she was back on the ground, gazing up at the mirage above.
She could see it but couldn’t taste it! Tian Sangsang wailed in her heart. Why tempt her with food if she couldn’t eat?
Suddenly, something fell from the air and smacked directly onto her forehead. Due to the force, Tian Sangsang felt momentarily dazed. She rubbed her forehead and picked up the object that had landed on the ground.
A book. A book shrouded in gently glowing white mist, exuding an inexplicable divine aura. The book itself was silver-colored, and inscribed on its cover were six glowing golden characters: Space User Manual.
Tian Sangsang curiously flipped through the pages. After skimming through, she reached a conclusion.
This space was called the Green Aura Space, left behind by a Cultivator who had become a Feathered Immortal in the Cultivation World. The space was anchored to the Jade Thumb Ring and embedded within it. It was tied to its owner, specifically choosing a female owner with great potential for dramatic success stories. When Tian Sangsang’s blood nourished the ring, the space unlocked. As for why Tian Sangsang had potential? The reason: she was a fat girl. It’s rumored that every chubby girl is a hidden gem, and once they slim down, they’re always able to marry wealthy and handsome men.
Actually, wasn’t that Cultivator a fat guy back in the day?
The water in this space didn’t have any miraculous qualities; it was merely much cleaner than ordinary water. As for the spring water—it couldn’t cleanse impurities, resurrect the dead, or regrow flesh and bones. However, consuming it over time could gradually improve health, albeit slowly. It’d be better used as an ingredient, as food cooked with the spring water was said to taste exceptionally delicious.
There was also a courtyard house that resembled an ordinary family’s residence, reportedly filled with antique charm. Beside the courtyard was a warehouse—completely empty. Then there were the vast fertile fields that could be cultivated to earn Green Aura Coins. As for the mirage in the sky, it connected to Plane Time, allowing access to different worlds.
Amazing!
Tian Sangsang glanced upward. Beside the mirage were multiple choices: Ancient Era, Primitive Society, Historical Dynasties, Republic Era, Modern Times, Apocalyptic Sci-Fi, Interstellar Future, Time Travel Fantasy, Novel-Inspired Adventures...
"Novel-Inspired Adventures?" What was that? Was it jumping inside a book? Tian Sangsang couldn’t help but read the words aloud.
As if answering her question, countless novel titles appeared mid-air, flickering across the screen. They were titles Tian Sangsang had never read before. Her gaze fixated on one particular book, *Apocalypse: Seven Babies in One Belly*, and the screen froze on that novel.
What do you think?
