Chapter 486: River of Hell (2)
"What in the hell is this shit?"
The water around Kent was literally boiling like it had been set on fire. Kent was a cultivator, so pouring even acid on him wouldn't hurt him, much less fire.
However, the longer the water boiled, the hotter his soul got.
His skin wasn't burning, but his soul was on fire, and as he continued to watch the crimson eyes draw closer, he couldn't help but wonder just where these creatures were from.
They looked larger than mansions, and their forms were even more grotesque than the Trenchs. They appeared towering, monstrous, and even more so, devastating to the mind.
Kent could only watch them draw closer. The closer they got to him, the blurrier his vision became, considering the pressure coming from the creatures wasn't something he could withstand.
However, when they were a kilometer away, Kent could only close his eyes as his soul ignited like dynamite, blasting into smithereens.
He died before he could comprehend the true nature of the arrived creatures. They are also creatures from the 4th level of hell.
However, they are much larger, stronger, and horrifying than the previous ones.
"Just what kind of soul art did this person comprehend to be able to form such a soul realm?" Kent wondered as he found himself back in the calm depths of the river.
He wanted to take a moment to calm his beating heart; however, before he could do that, the tower spoke, activating the River of Hell's tier three form.
"Calling the Grim Scythe."
This time, the river remained calm, causing Kent to look around and wonder what was happening.
There were no sudden surges, no harrowing waves, nothing. Everything was calm, like when he first fell into the river. The tranquility in the air was palpable.
However, while he would have loved to experience the third form with a sense of peace, the next second proved harrowing, as darkness appeared in the air and began falling toward the river.
"Calling the Grim Scythe; Cleave Through the River of Hell."
The tower spoke again just as Kent lifted his head and saw the river split in half. He was cut in half alongside the river.
Gaia, Dori, and Akira were smiling when he opened his eyes, gasping for breath.
⟪How did it go, Master?.⟫ Akira asked with a giggle. Her two sisters also couldn't keep their smiles away.
"It was dangerous and terrifying," Kent responded, knowing there was no point in acting tough.
He could tell he was out of his league from the first to the last tiers of the Soul Realm he had just experienced.
He would not have done any better than what had just happened. The realm he experienced now belongs to the King of he 4th level of hell.
They call him the 4th Calamity, for hell is ruled by 13 calamities, like how the six queens and seven kings rule the underworld.
But Kent doesn't know that, and Akira had no plans on telling him.
⟪Master, would you believe me if I told you that a Tier 11 Soul Master created the realm you have just experienced?⟫ Akira asked, and Kent looked at her as if asking whether she was kidding.
⟪She's being serious, Master. The realm you just experienced is from a Tier 11 soul cultivator. However, this person is someone who has already started comprehending a soul art.
This allowed him to understand soul cultivation to a level I'm afraid you can't yet comprehend. I'm saying this because you will soon begin cultivating the one Goddess Vexthra gave you.⟫
Gaia said, making Kent wonder who this person is.
"I know. It's just that I couldn't understand how someone could comprehend such a powerful realm. I felt like a bug when facing the three tiers." Kent took a deep sigh.
He then lay his head on the sword bridge, gazing into the starry sky.
"I need to comprehend my own realm," Kent declared.
⟪Master can do that. However, you are to begin to tread a path in soul cultivation. Once again, Goddess Vexthra gave you one that even I don't know where in this world she got her hands on something like that.⟫
⟪But you must first start comprehending it to understand,⟫ Akira smiled, saying that. She can't wait to get started with Kent.
Gaia is his builder, Dori is his mind manager, and soon, she will be his soul guardian, as it was always meant to be.
⟪The realm you just experienced was created by a soul cultivator walking the Hell Path in soul cultivation. This allowed him to create such a powerful realm.
I know this may sound confusing, but the path you walk determines the realm you can comprehend and create.
Take Big Sister Elsa, for example—she is walking the Astra Soul Bridge.
That is her path, and while she hasn't crossed the first bridge yet, she has already gained enough to begin comprehending a realm once she reaches the 10th Tier in soul cultivation.
You're already walking a sword path, so the moment you become a Sword King, you can start comprehending a realm—but not with the soul. You need the path first.⟫
"I think I understand the gist of it. Basically, a realm is created from the path you're walking."
⟪Yes. Once you're done with your minor issues, you must awaken the path Goddess Vexthra gave you.
I don't want to spoil it, but she must have gone to great lengths to get that path. I'm even sure that if the Celestials find out you're in possession of such a soul path, they'll hunt you down.
But don't worry—I'm here now, so they won't be able to find out, at least while you're below the Immortal Worlds.⟫
"I understand," Kent sighed again, then thought back to the last tier of the realm he had just experienced.
Remembering how terrifying the scythe looked and how harrowing it felt when it cleaved through the river, he wondered if he could gain something from it.
"I need someone to fight with," Kent said, standing up.
⟪Zareth, Kaizo, Big Sister Sylara, Vaelros, Sir Veydris, and the 13 Metal Battle Dolls are currently away on the mission you gave them, so you don't have anyone aside from your women and the Assassin woman,⟫ Dori answered, but Kent didn't bother with that.
He looked toward the fifth level of the sword bridge, and a smile appeared on his face.
"I just want to try something out, so dying once shouldn't be a problem," he muttered, then started walking toward the fifth level of the sword bridge.
He had already passed the first four levels, so he walked through them like they were nothing.
However, the moment he stepped onto the fifth level, the air around him turned sharper and more lethal.
Kent became alert immediately.
What do you think?
