Chapter 477: Top-Tier Secret Realm
According to the previous agreement among the major countries, Drakoria, Celestria, Gallia, Anglia, and Volkaria—these five countries each had five spots for trainers under thirty to enter.
Originally, only Drakoria and Celestria had five spots, since they were the only two superpowers.
In this setup, Drakoria and Celestria gained the biggest advantage. More people meant more safety and a better guarantee of strength.
But no one knew what Gallia and Anglia had said to Celestria that made them change their mind. Meanwhile, Volkaria also approached Drakoria.
Once benefits were exchanged, it made sense to give these three countries five spots too.
In terms of international relations, Volkaria was Drakoria’s greatest ally, while Gallia and Anglia were allies of Celestria.
The rest of the nations got one to three spots.
Countries with three spots were rare. Only those most valued by Drakoria or Celestria had the qualifications.
Like Wyvernia, Babath and so on.
Altogether, the total number of trainers entering from all countries was 100.
“Look at me one more time and I’ll gouge your eyeballs out.”
Ember glared with disgust at a contestant from Celestria. This guy had been leering at her from the start, eyes full of lust with no attempt to hide it.
There was no way someone as hot-tempered as Ember could tolerate that.
If not for the setting, she would’ve slapped him long ago.
“Pretty lady, can we be friends?”
James stared brazenly at Ember. This woman, with her rich Eastern charm, had captivated him at first glance.
“We don’t make friends with you bas***ds.”
The one who spoke was Pierce. He stepped in front of Ember, blocking the man's view. His burly frame exuded an intimidating pressure.
Julian gave Pierce a slightly surprised look. This guy usually didn’t talk much—who knew his verbal attacks could be so sharp?
“What did you say, you Mf***er?”
The atmosphere between the two sides instantly became tense.
Other participants from various countries nearby also grew uneasy.
If the two big powers got into a fight, wouldn’t the weaker countries around them be the ones to suffer?
John and Colin didn’t speak, so even though the tension in the air was thick, it didn’t escalate into a full conflict.
At 12 o'clock sharp, it was finally time to officially enter the Top-tier secret realm.
Before entering, the first step was inspection.
As for what was being checked, of course it was the Pokémon each person brought.
This time only trainers under thirty were allowed to enter the secret realm, and for this age group, most of the top trainers were pseudo-Elites.
Only the very best among them could actually become Elite trainers before the age of thirty.
And among the hundred under-thirty trainers gathered here from dozens of different countries, every single one was outstanding within their own nation.
Here, everyone was at the Elite level.
In order to prevent anyone from sneaking in a Pokémon that didn’t belong to them and breaking the rules, a thorough check was necessary before entering.
If one trainer managed to sneak in a Champion-level Pokémon, how would the other countries’ trainers even compete?
Each trainer was registered with their country’s Trainer Association, with real-time updates on the names, number, and levels of their Pokémon.
So if you suddenly gained a Pokémon far above your level recently, you wouldn’t be allowed to bring it in.
And to prevent cheating, there was also a time limit.
You could only bring in Pokémon caught more than six months ago.
In other words, any Pokémon caught within the last six months couldn’t be brought in.
Bodyguard-type Pokémon were of course even more strictly forbidden.
These rules were all set up to protect each country’s own trainers.
Drakoria feared Celestria might play dirty behind the scenes, and Celestria feared Drakoria might pull some shady tricks.
So during inspection, both sides were extremely thorough—it was almost like they were ready to strip each other down to their underwear and inspect everything.
Under these rules, Julian naturally couldn’t carry quite a few of his Pokémon.
Alakazam, Magearna, Bagon, Doublade, Celebi—he couldn’t take any of the five.
Alakazam was a bodyguard Pokémon, and didn’t belong to him. The other four had all been caught within the last six months. Plus, Magearna and Celebi were particularly special—he couldn’t afford for outsiders to know he had them.
Right now, all five of these Pokémon had been sent back to his home in Lake City.
He didn't know what they were up to at the moment.
Celebi: "I'm eating fried chicken."
Alakazam: "Meditating."
Bagon: "Thinking about Master."
Doublade: "Practicing swordsmanship."
Magearna: "Learning to knit sweaters from Love(Indeedee)."
The entrance to a Top-tier secret realm was different from that of beginner, intermediate, and advanced secret realms. The entry and exit of these three secret realms were fixed.
But for a Top-tier secret realm, the entrance in the outside world was fixed. But once you entered, you would be randomly teleported to somewhere inside.
If a team entered together, they could hold hands to avoid being separated.
Because of the random teleportation, the danger level was much higher. If you were unlucky, you could be sent straight into the territory of an Elite or even Champion-level Pokémon—or into a volcano crater or someplace like that.
Some might ask: if entering a Top-tier secret realm means being randomly teleported, then how does one get out of it?
After all, since you're teleported at random, you have no idea where the exit gate of the secret realm is located.
There 'is' a way—and that is to find the secret realm's exit on your own.
This is also one of the dangers of a Top-tier secret realm.
Especially for the first batch of people entering—since no one knows where the exit is, the only way out is to search for it, and that all came down to luck.
Julian: 'I feel like I'm being targeted.'
Whether or not you can find the exit is the most important thing. Otherwise, no matter how much you gain inside, if you can’t find your way out, the longer you stay, the higher the risk becomes.
Ten years ago, when a Top-tier secret realm appeared in Drakoria, the first group of trainers who went in ended up trapped for an entire year before they found the secret realm’s exit.
Before they went in, there were twenty trainers—all Elite-level. By the time they came out, only five remained, and one of them was Julian’s father, Jake.
In Julian’s memory, there was a time when his dad suddenly disappeared. He even asked his mom, Tina, about it, but she only said that Jake was on a long mission and wouldn’t be back for a while.
That “while” turned out to be a full year.
Even now, Julian still didn’t know what his father had been doing during that time.
As long as the first group of trainers successfully comes out, then the location of the secret realm’s exit will become known. And the later groups that enter won’t have to blindly search for it anymore.
