Pokemon: Reborn Rich Alternate Earth

Chapter 414: Hospital

Julian never expected that, at such a young age, he would end up in the proctology department. Holding the prescribed medicine from the hospital, he listened as the doctor warned him to stick to a bland diet for the next few days—no greasy or spicy food.

Outside the hospital, Julian walked slowly. He had no choice; if he took too big a step, the pain in his rear would flare up. That burning sensation had never really gone away.

If the system shop’s healing medicine hadn’t cost 3,000 points, he wouldn’t have hesitated to buy it. But since he was reluctant to spend that many points, he had no choice but to visit the hospital instead.

After this experience, he swore he would never touch Westford City’s spicy food again.

As a Southerner, he found the spice level here far from friendly—it completely shattered his understanding of what "spicy" meant.

Celebi, on the other hand, was doing much better thanks to its unique physique.

The Poké Ball on Julian’s waist shook constantly—not because Celebi wanted to come out, but because it was showing off.

Julian hailed a taxi at the hospital entrance and carefully eased himself into the back seat. His posture must have looked a bit strange because the driver glanced at him and asked, "Spicy food got to you?"

"How did you know?"

Julian blurted out the question without thinking, but the moment he did, he felt embarrassed.

Fortunately, he was wearing sunglasses and a mask.

"This happens all the time in Westford City," the driver chuckled. "A lot of out-of-towners like you come here and go straight for the hotpot."

Stubborn people never listen to warnings—and Julian was one of them. He had ignored the waiter’s advice the night before, and now, first thing in the morning, he was visiting the proctology department.

What he didn’t know was that, even with his mask and sunglasses, he had still been recognized at the hospital.

A reporter, who had originally come to accompany his mother-in-law to her appointment, happened to spot Julian. The moment he recognized him, he completely forgot about his mother-in-law and secretly followed Julian instead.

He watched Julian walk into the proctology department. Then, when Julian went to pick up his medicine, the reporter even caught a glimpse of the prescription.

After snapping a few photos in secret, the reporter immediately started writing up an article.

His mother-in-law? Completely forgotten.

He worked for a tabloid, and his articles were never exactly serious.

And since the person in question was Julian—the rising star among young trainers in Drakoria—this news spread like wildfire the moment it was published.

A flood of online comments followed:

> "Proctology department? What happened to him?"

> "Use your brain."

> "Julian, the heir of a prestigious family, still doesn’t have a girlfriend… Now I get it."

> "The wealthy circle is really a mess."

> "He had to go to the proctology department… Is he really that wild?"

> "Fake news, right?"

> "As a proud member of the King Julian Fan Club, I can recognize him even with a mask and sunglasses. That was definitely him."

> "I know that hospital! It's the most famous proctology specialist hospital in Westford City!"

Julian, sitting in the back of the taxi, had no idea that his little misadventure with spicy food had already gone viral. With some people deliberately stirring the pot, the online discussion had completely derailed into inappropriate territory.

Right now, he was on his way to the Westford City Central Arena, the venue for the Shu Province High School League.

Today was the finals for the individual competition.

The champion would receive an invitation from him to join the Imperial University’s special admission program. Of course, whether they accepted the offer was up to them.

Winners of provincial high school leagues were hot targets for top universities. The best universities—known as the "Big Five"—would all compete to recruit them.

As for universities slightly below the Big Five, they knew the champion likely wouldn’t choose them, so they mainly aimed for the second- and third-place winners.

Universities even further down the ranking would recruit from the top ten or top sixteen instead.

Of course, if a university was willing to offer a big enough incentive, they might still have a chance at attracting higher-ranked students.

The ride to the Westford City Central Arena would take a little over an hour.

Julian, sitting in the backseat, felt the pain ease slightly after taking his medicine. Carefully, he removed the hands he had been sitting on.

He did so with great caution.

Pfft!

The driver happened to catch this scene through the rearview mirror.

"I just remembered something funny from before," the driver quickly explained.

Julian: 'I really want to kill him.'

He pulled out his phone and saw a flood of unread messages. Opening them, his expression shifted dramatically.

Luis: " Brother Julian, why did you end up in the proctology department?"

Dalton: "Boss Julian, is that your thing?"

Will: "Damn, Julian, no wonder you don’t like women. Stay away from me from now on."

Shen: "Is what they’re saying online true? (Attached link)"

Staring at the messages, Julian muttered, "How did people even find out I went to the proctology department?"

Out of curiosity, he tapped on the link Shen sent.

A news article popped up—along with over a million comments.

Reading the top ten most liked comments, Julian’s face went through a series of expressions.

It was the first time in his life that so many people were gossiping about him.

Was he angry?

Not really.

But he was definitely annoyed—especially since so many people now assumed he was into men and that his hospital visit was 'for that reason.'

'Damn it! I’m a real man!'

Without hesitation, Julian ripped off his mask and sunglasses, opened his phone’s camera, and hit record.

"Listen up, everyone! I went to the proctology department because of Westford City’s hotpot! The spice level is insane—absolutely insane!"

"This has completely redefined my understanding of 'spicy'!"

"As someone who's been through it, let me warn all my fellow spice-intolerant friends—if you ever visit Westford City or anywhere in Shu Province, do 'not' order the spicy hotpot!"

After finishing his rant, Julian saved the video and uploaded it to his TikTok account.

Meanwhile, the driver, realizing he had been driving Julian Walker, was overjoyed. When they reached the destination, the driver flat-out refused to take his money.

Of course, Julian still insisted on paying.

But his explanation video? It did not get him any sympathy. Instead, it sent his fans and the internet into a frenzy of laughter.

> "Hahaha! king Julian’s lips are swollen red—this is the power of Westford City’s spice!"

> "As a Westford City local, I feel honored that our hotpot sent King Julian straight to the proctology department!"

> "I do feel bad for him... but I also can’t stop laughing."

> "Am I the only one who understands King Julian? I went to Westford City once and got wrecked by the spice too. But I didn’t go to the hospital—I just bought some medicine myself."

> "I get it. Westford City's spice is on a completely different level compared to the spiciness in the south."

> "Southern spice? Please. I ate your so-called spicy dishes and they tasted 'sweet' to me."

> "Lowkey disappointed... why doesn’t King Julian like men?"

> "Uh, that’s a dangerous thought, my guy."

Julian's comment section was buzzing with activity, but he had already stepped into the Westford City Central Arena.

As the venue for the annual Shu Province High School League, the arena was packed with spectators. Each year, countless people flocked here to watch the competition—including plenty from other provinces.
