Chapter 29 - 29 Aubree Fields Appointment 4
Chapter 29: Aubree Field’s Appointment 4 Chapter 29: Aubree Field’s Appointment 4 Victoria Garcia did not avoid her gaze and met it head-on.
Their eyes locked, but there was no hostility.
“Why are you so sure that it’s not love?”
“The onlookers are clear, while the participants are confused.” Aubree Field quietly explained, scratching her head before continuing, “It’s true that Alexander Mitchell loves you, but at most, you feel touched by him.”
“Have you never thought that a woman could change because of being touched?”
“Some women can, but you won’t.” Aubree Field spoke with certainty.
Victoria only replied briefly, “Did Miss Field come to discuss this topic with me?”
“I just want to ask you to see Alexander Mitchell. His present condition is really bad.”
“Don’t you think that if I go see him, it would only give him hope?” Victoria glanced at Aubree Field and spoke bluntly, “You love him; this is a chance for you.”
After hearing this, a helpless smile appeared at the corner of Aubree’s mouth.
Her hand stirred the coffee in the cup gently with a spoon, round and round.
“That night, the Alexander Mitchell you saw was just a facade. He has had only one thought in his heart for all these years: you. Are you really just going to give him up like this?”
Victoria looked at her. Without a doubt, Aubree Field had her own beauty and elegance.
“As you just said, I feel more touched than love by Alexander Mitchell.”
Hearing this, Aubree’s pupils dilated and then gradually receded, returning to their calm state.
“Alexander Mitchell blamed himself and regretted that night’s act for pushing you into the arms of another man. But I really want to ask, is that man really worth giving up Alexander Mitchell for?”
“I don’t want to discuss whether it’s worth it or not. Since I’ve already made my choice, I’ll bear the consequences of my decision.” Victoria slightly pursed her lips before continuing, “It’s already impossible between Alexander Mitchell and me. Miss Field doesn’t need to find me again. I can tell you clearly, I won’t go see him.”
Victoria’s straightforward and determined words left Aubree Field at a loss for words.
She didn’t think she was inferior to Victoria in any way, but Alexander Mitchell just loved her.
“Your heart is really ruthless.” Aubree Field couldn’t help but blurt it out.
“Thank you,” Victoria quietly replied with an implication of a smile on her lips.
Aubree Field looked at that smile, which was both cold and stunning.
It was this very ‘thank you’ that made Aubree Field realize that Victoria’s personality was not one that an ordinary man could handle, and Alexander Mitchell was not suitable for her at all.
Victoria didn’t stay any longer, and left the coffee house as soon as she turned around.
Aubree Field stared at the now still cup of coffee, feeling a sense of loss. Just like how Victoria had never agreed to be Alexander Mitchell’s girlfriend, the significance of Victoria’s existence in Alexander Mitchell’s heart would never change.
The darkness of night descended again, as neon lights raced through every corner of Metropolis.
At this moment, a war broke out in the silent Mitchell family household.
What do you think?
