Chapter 63 - 61: Didn’t Tempt Him

Chapter 63 - 61: Didn't Tempt Him

What Liam just said about her using her pregnancy as a ploy was merely a way for him to find an excuse for why he was in her hospital room. Unexpectedly, she turned the tables on him.

What a clever girl Maya is, with such a sharp tongue!

Watching her roll her eyes at him, Liam was so angry that he grit his teeth, wishing he could crush her. He thought to himself, why did I come here to be humiliated? It truly is a lose-lose situation.

However, knowing who he is, there's no way Liam can allow himself to lose to this woman.

So, he pretended to be calm, saying, "Maya, I'm here to tell you that since you've moved out of the Spencer Family home, don't ever think you can return, and you'll never find out the reason for your mother's suicide."

Then he added, "Do you think you can kick me out of the Spencer Family just like that? Do you think you can do whatever you want in the Spencer Family? Let me tell you, as long as I'm here, you will never achieve it."

Listening to the man's threats, Maya became unsettled. These past few days, she had only been thinking about how to get good grades and how to get Liam out, forgetting that he still had her photos on his phone and knew her real purpose for coming to the Spencer Family.

Only now did she realize that the man in front of her is someone she not only can't afford to offend but also needs to ensure he doesn't make things difficult for her.

She wasn't convinced, not convinced that she couldn't beat him, not convinced that he trampled on her like she was an ant.

So she gritted her teeth, furrowed her brow, and feigned righteousness as she said, "I'm the daughter of the Spencer Family, why can't I go back?"

"The daughter of the Spencer Family? Haha!" Liam laughed coldly when he heard her trying to exert authority with her identity. This left her puzzled, wondering what exactly he knew.

Maya looked at the man's appearance and felt uneasy, wondering how she had gotten involved with him. Why did Grandpa have to call him back? Didn't he find him annoying?

"What do you really want?" She was always in a passive position, always unable to stay firm in front of him.

"What do I want? Put away that arrogant face of yours, do you think I'm Hannah?"

Liam couldn't stand Maya's indifferent, fearless, defiant attitude, her acting like she was the only one in the world. What was she so proud of? Did she really think she was something!

On the bed, Maya listened to the man's demands, took a deep breath, and tried to please him, saying, "Didn't you tell me not to show up in front of you? I'm just doing what you said."

Her soft-spoken words were insincere, because facing this domineering man, she had no choice but to back down.

She had to admit it; Liam was the toughest opponent she had encountered. Compared to him, Hannah and Elia Spencer combined were less annoying. She would rather take a beating from Hannah than exchange a few more words with him.

Listening to the girl's excuses and hearing her push the blame onto him, Liam couldn't help but sneer. He put his hands in his pockets, stood up from the sofa, walked slowly to the hospital bed, extended his right hand, and grabbed her chin coldly.

"I've told you to behave, otherwise you'll meet a tragic end."

His dominant aura oppressed Maya into silence. His distrust and attitude made it impossible for her to continue yielding; she couldn't bring herself to bow down and explain that she had done nothing wrong. Such humility was beyond her.

She and he were alike, both inherently proud, neither willing to truly concede to someone else.

Maya stared firmly into the man's eyes, holding her breath, trying to see through his gaze what he was planning to do next.

"Maya, do you want to know what I'm going to do to you?" He leaned in so close that the breaths he exhaled couldn't be avoided and went into her body.

She was disgusted! But she couldn't avoid it!

"What do you want?"

"If you're unhappy, I'd be happy!" he said.

"So what? Are you addicted to sleeping with me, which is why you're at the hospital?" Liam was too close to her, and his gaze was too focused, so focused that it seemed he wanted to swallow her whole. So she blatantly questioned him.

She remembered clearly how he enjoyed himself that night.

"Maya, do you think you're that attractive?

Although the doctors later didn't find any drug reactions, he still firmly believed she drugged him.

"I don't want to fight with you. From now on, let's stay out of each other's affairs." At this moment, Maya didn't dare provoke him, fearing he would cut off her way back to the Spencer Family.

"Do you think you're worthy of fighting with me?" As Liam said this, he threw Maya roughly onto the bed and sat back on the sofa.

Liam's disregard made her angry, made her unwilling to endure anymore. Recalling what he said earlier about making things difficult for her, she grabbed a pillow from the bed and threw it at him.

Fine! If things are going to be difficult, let's both have a hard time!

Maya's attitude changed so quickly that it caught Liam off guard.

He didn't expect this woman to be so bold, so he didn't dodge at all. His handsome face took a direct hit from her pillow. Although it didn't hurt when the pillow hit him, he couldn't forgive her attitude.

However, before he could explode, Maya did. She pointed at his nose and cursed, "You bastard, what right do you have to stop me from going back to the Spencer Family? How did I provoke you? Are you f*cking crazy?"

The girl's outburst shocked and infuriated Liam, but after the shock, he quickly walked in front of her, kneeled on one knee on the bed, grabbed her chin hard with his right hand, and said viciously, "Say that again."

"Bastard! Bastard! Bastard!" Having already torn the face, Maya was not afraid of him. She felt cursing him a few times wasn't enough and wished she could hit him, but unfortunately, she was covered in injuries and couldn't fight physically.

Liam watched the girl's defiant look and blocked her lips, stopping her from continuing to curse.

Liam's actions shocked even himself; this reaction was unexpected both to him and to Maya, who was so frightened she was dazed.

After recovering from the shock, she raised her hands to push him away. Failing to push him off, she raised her hand again, slapping his head and cheeks.

After a moment, sensing her struggle to breathe, he let her go.

On the hospital bed, Maya's large eyes stared fiercely at the man. He was looking at her too, but his gaze was not filled with anger—it was an expression Maya couldn't comprehend.

She swallowed and asked, "What do you call that?

She certainly hadn't begged him to come to the hospital; it was him who came, and he was the one who kissed her. This time, she was determined not to give in—she hadn't tried to seduce him.
