Chapter 24: Chapter 24 Kneel Down_1 Chapter 24: Chapter 24 Kneel Down_1 Beijing Private Hospital
Compared to his previous visits to the hospital, Xiang Cheng was in a terrible state, passing out in the car from excessive blood loss and intense rage before he could be taken to the hospital.

Upon learning that their beloved son was in trouble, the An couple dropped everything and rushed to the hospital. When they saw the state their son was in, An Man almost fainted, saved only by the support of Xiang Rong by her side.

They busily contacted doctors and took care of their son, not coming to their senses until after Xiang Cheng’s surgery had ended.

In the VIP ward, Xiang Cheng, who had just undergone surgery, was still asleep due to the after-effects of the anesthesia. His injured hand was wrapped in a thick bandage, resembling a pig’s trotter.

On one side, An Yun and his companions sat on a sofa, facing the An couple across the room. The atmosphere was somewhat oppressive.

None of them had expected that Jian Qing’s stab would ruin Xiang Cheng’s hand. The major damage to the hand nerves was declared by the doctors as basically incurable. Unless they could invite the internationally renowned Ghost Doctor, but he was elusive and practically impossible to find.

“Tell me, what exactly happened today? How did Chengcheng end up like this?” An Man’s voice rang out, her tone grim.

She couldn’t understand how her son went from being perfectly fine to just barely able to lift his head in front of others.

An Yun didn’t speak. Instead, it was Yang Xiang who hurriedly spoke up, “Aunt, it was all Jian Qing’s doing. She is to blame for cousin’s condition.”

“Jian Qing?” An Man was taken aback, a vague sense of foreboding stirring in her heart.

Seeing his only son in such a state, Xiang Yuan was, of course, infuriated. He knew about Jian Qing due to the events that happened seventeen years ago, and he was well aware of what his wife had done back then.

Could it be that Jian Qing was back for revenge? Xiang Yuan was a little unsure.

Not fully believing Yang Xiang’s words, An Man looked at An Yun, her face stern. “Yunyun, you speak and don’t leave out any details.”

No matter what, that was her only son, and she wouldn’t let Jian Qing off easily.

An Yun nodded, calmly recounting everything that had happened at Qianshi Restaurant that day, even including the part where Xiang Cheng had teased Jian Qing.

“Aunt, we really didn’t know that you hadn’t mentioned Jian Qing to cousin. We thought cousin was only messing with her because he didn’t like her.” An Yu added in a soft voice.

She was telling the truth, the fact that Xiang Cheng was unaware of Jian Qing’s existence was not their fault.

An Man’s face was extremely grim. She was both frustrated with her son and angered by Jian Qing’s cruelty.

“Aunt, you must get justice for cousin this time. You can’t let Jian Qing off easily.” Yang Xiang said, stirring the pot with a righteous expression.

An Man looked at her son lying on the bed not far away, her hand clenched into a fist on her knee, a flash of ruthlessness passed in her eyes.

Jian Qing!

The heavy rain gradually stopped, and as the lights came on, An Yun and his companions’ biggest fear came to pass. A phone call from the An mansion urgently summoned them back.

After making arrangements at the hospital, the An couple also hurriedly returned to the mansion. As soon as they entered the living room, they found the atmosphere strange.

“Grandfather!”

“Great-grandfather!”

Looking at the elder sitting on the sofa, the An couple and An Yun and his companions respectfully greeted him.

The old Mr. An responded indifferently, his face emotionless and inscrutable. The hearts of An Yun and the others sank.

“How is Xiang Cheng?” Not bringing up Jian Qing, the old Mr. An asked about Xiang Cheng’s condition.

An Man cast her gaze downward, faithfully reporting Xiang Cheng’s condition.

“How could it be so serious?” Zhou Qi exclaimed in shock.

Seeing the look in her mother’s eyes, Yang Xiang said sarcastically, “Grandmother, this is all thanks to Jian Qing. She’s practically ruined cousin’s hand.”

Upon hearing this, Zhou Qi and the others were taken aback, clearly unaware of this matter.

Related to Jian Qing?

“Yang Xiang, you said this matter has something to do with Jian Qing. Why would Jian Qing do that to Xiang Cheng?” Old Mr. An asked, trying to control his anger.

“I…” Faced with the sharp gaze of old Mr. An, Yang Xiang became somewhat cowardly and began to stammer.

From Yang Xiang’s reaction, An Zhonghui and the others could tell that things weren’t that simple. Seeing how old Mr. An was reacting, they knew An Yun and the others were in for a difficult time.

Old Mr. An snorted coldly and directly called out, “An Yun, you speak.”

Not being a fool, An Yun knew that the old man was on the verge of losing his temper, so he didn’t dare to hide anything and made a full confession.

After he finished speaking, the living room fell silent, with only the ticking of the quartz clock filling the room.

Zhou Qi and the others dared not speak up for Xiang Cheng anymore, knowing well enough not to challenge old Mr. An’s temper.

“Smack-” Old Mr. An’s face turned purple with anger, and he heavily slammed his hand on the table, shaking it until his hand went numb.

“Father!”

“Grandfather!”

An Zhonghui and the others quickly reacted, knowing that the old man, due to his age, couldn’t withstand such a fit of rage.

“All of you, shut up.” Old Mr. An ordered, causing Yang Xiang and the others to shiver.

His stern gaze fell onto a line of An Yun and his companions. “It seems you all have forgotten what I said before, right? You all took my words as nothing, right?”

“Great-grandfather, it’s not our fault. You can’t always favor Jian Qing.” Yang Lin protested unwillingly.

“You all, kneel down.” Old Mr. An frowned.

“Grandfather, you…” Zhao Xuan couldn’t bear to see her children wronged because of Jian Qing, but before she could say anything else, An Chong pulled her back.

“The old man is angry. Better comply.” An Chong glanced at his kneeling children and whispered.

Zhao Xuan gritted her teeth, took a deep breath, and didn’t say anything else.

Jian Qing, one day, I will send you to meet your fox-like mother!

As An Yun and An Yu knelt, Yang Xiang and Yang Lin didn’t dare to be stubborn and quickly followed suit. The slight pain of their knees hitting the floor added to their resentment towards Jian Qing.
