Million dollar bride

Chapter 11: Ok, honey

After having dinner with the whole family, David and Ella asked permission to go back to their room.
She sat on the sofa watching him do his work at the table. Then she opened the phone and made a schedule. Although she is David's secretary, her work is not much, she has a lot of free time, so she wants to do something to be active, such as learning to cook, learning the piano, practicing yoga or aerobics…
David raised his head, his eyebrows raised when he saw Ella seem very focused on the phone. he asked softly. “What are you going to do, Ella?”
Ella put the phone down on the table. “I need to do something for tomorrow. I need to exercise, my brain will go numb if I don't do anything every day." She spoke nonchalantly and reached for a document on David's desk.
“Um.” David continues to work, he focuses on computers. Ella walked over and sat across from him.
“Stop worrying. I will make a good wife who can be your support in the future.” Ella opened the document, going through the pages one by one. She spoke in a calm tone, without any expression.
“Okay. Let me know if you change your mind.” David nodded.
"Okay, honey."
David jumped when he heard Ella call him 'honey'. He stared at her blankly and when he saw her smiling face, he shook his head dismissively.
“The document here is wrong, here and here too. Although it is only wrong with a zero, it will also affect the profit of the entire company. I think you need to fix it.” Ella said as she circled the wrong places in David's document.
David's eyes widened in surprise when Ella pointed out the mistakes he'd overlooked in preparation to sign. He took the document Ella gave him and checked it again. Indeed it is wrong in a few places.
“You are really good. Key checked it out before giving it to me to sign.” David looked up at Ella. This girl is not ordinary at all.
Ella smiled, and she narrowed her eyes. “Although I am not as brilliant as you, I worked meticulously and carefully when I was at my old company.”
“So from now on, I will ask you to check all the documents before I sign, okay?” David asked with loving eyes.
"Does not matter." Ella smiled cheerfully.
Seeing her smile, David couldn't help himself, he cupped her face and kissed her deeply on the lips before letting go.
They looked at each other and Ella was shocked at David's sudden action. David's heart beat faster. Ella's eyes are really beautiful and sparkling, her eyelashes are curled and jet-black.
When he first meets Ella, he admits that he has no feelings for her. But now, knowing her personality as an easy-going, gentle person, he was drawn to her.
“I like the sweetness of your lips,” David said lovingly.
“I… I'm going to sleep.” Ella was confused, her face flushed red. She hurried over to the bed and lay down, covered with blankets.
David looked at Ella's shy look, couldn't help but smile, and continued his work.
The next morning, Ella turned around and was startled to see someone's face close to hers. David put his arm around her waist.
David was still fast asleep. He looks so charming when he sleeps. Looking closely, she realized that David has a classic, luxurious but equally romantic beauty.
Ella watched until David stirred and opened his eyes, meeting hers. He kissed her forehead before speaking. “Good morning, honey.”
Ella shyly replied. “Um… good morning. Can I leave?”
"Not yet. Five more minutes.” David shook his head, speaking slowly.
Five minutes passed, and David still didn't let go of her. She raised her eyebrows slightly when she saw him staring at her. “I want to go to the bathroom.”
David's hand slowly loosened. Ella quickly got out of bed and ran to the bathroom. She stood for a moment to regulate her breathing.
'Why is my heart beating so fast? We're just husband and wife on contract, aren't we?' Ella thought. She jumped when the bathroom door opened. David stood in front of the door with his arms crossed.
“Why did you come in here? I need a shower, you go out.” Ella said in a determined voice.
“We are husband and wife, right? If I want to do that, what are you afraid of?” David's smile now was cunning.
'This man is crazy. How can he say these words when the contract clearly states that he and she will not interfere in each other's lives?' Ella could only scream in her heart.
“No, don't forget we're just acting. We are not real husband and wife.” Ella frowned, threw the towel at David, and pulled the curtain over, dividing the bathroom in two. She turned on the faucet.
Hearing the sound of running water, David said. “You have no feelings for me?” He asked with a voice but Ella still heard.
“No…” Ella replied softly.
“Then why did you leave me alone to kiss?”
“I…” Ella was at a loss for words.
"I'll wait until you're ready, okay?" David's voice was gentle. He started unbuttoning his shirt.
"What are you saying? Have you forgotten the purpose of this marriage?” Ella replied coldly.
“I didn't forget…”
Ella's voice came from the other side of the curtain. “So why do you want to do that? You said you would only go to bed with the one you love, right? But I'm not. So you're promiscuous?"
How can David tell that he has begun to swoon over her? She doesn't love him, she just does a good job as a wife in the contract.
He closes the shower, wraps a towel around himself, and walks out of the bathroom.
When Ella heard the door close, she breathed a sigh of relief. She looked at her reflection in the mirror.
'How can I put up with this for three years?' She muttered to herself.
After bathing, Ella wore a simple outfit and tied her hair in a ponytail. Her dynamic style makes her more youthful.
She entered the dining room. It was still early, so she helped the maid make breakfast.
