Chapter 4679: Meet in the Upper Immortal Realm
Hearing the little girl address him as ‘Master,’ the masked man’s lips curved into a gentle smile. “Little one,” he said, his voice soft, “it seems you only call me Master when you desire something from me. Unfortunately, even I am unable to grant this particular request.”
“Why can’t you?” Yue’er asked, her brow furrowed in confusion. “Didn’t you say you were very powerful?”
Hearing this, he chuckled lightly. “No matter how powerful I may be, I cannot obstruct the brilliance of the Phoenix Star. If I were to take her to the Upper Immortal Realm now, it would undoubtedly lead to chaos up there.”
He turned his gaze to Feng Jiu. “Although I cannot take you with me at this moment, you possess the potential to ascend to the Immortal Realm yourself in the future. By then, you should also have developed the strength to contend with those who seek to harm you. Your presence will be far more impactful when you ascend with your own power. To go now would merely be an act of fleeing.”
“Just assist me in safeguarding the three children. You need not concern yourself with anything else. If I wish to ascend, I will naturally do so when the time is right. There is no urgency,” Feng Jiu said, meeting his gaze steadily. “Two days. In two days, take them away!”
“Very well,” he replied, offering no further argument and agreeing directly to her request.
For the subsequent two days, Feng Jiu dedicated her time almost entirely to the three children, imparting knowledge, sharing stories, and replenishing their spatial storage with ample supplies, just in case. They all cherished these final moments together, but despite their deep reluctance to part, the appointed day eventually arrived. Early that morning, the airship continued its gentle flight, and everyone on board gathered at the bow to bid farewell to the masked man and the three children.
“Mother, what shall we do if we miss you in the future?” Yue’er cried, throwing herself into Feng Jiu’s embrace, tears welling up in her bright eyes. Although Hao’er and Muchen remained silent, their eyes were visibly red, and they stood quietly to one side, gazing at their mother as if trying to etch her image permanently into their memories.
“It will be alright. When you arrive there, listen attentively to your master and practice diligently. After I see you off, I will also enter a period of seclusion for a while. When the time is right, I will prepare to advance and ascend. Once everything is settled, I will come and find you myself,” she spoke softly, her words a soothing balm to their young and troubled hearts.
“Mother, what about Father? Will he come and find us with you?” Muchen couldn’t help but ask, his voice filled with longing.
“Yes, Mother will come and find you with your father. Until then, you must be obedient, do not wander off, take good care of yourselves, and do not cause worry for your mother and father,” Feng Jiu said, holding his small hand. She then took Hao’er’s hand and intertwined it with Muchen’s. “You three siblings must support each other and grow up safely together.”
“Yes, Mother, we understand. We will definitely listen to you,” the three children nodded earnestly, their eyes shining with newfound determination.
“Take this. It may prove helpful to you in the future,” the masked man said, handing Feng Jiu an object that resembled a seal or a magical artifact.
Feng Jiu accepted it with both hands, offering a sincere, “Thank you. Please take good care of the three children in the future.”
“Mm, then we shall depart now. We will meet again in the Immortal Realm in the future.” With these words, he glanced at Feng Jiu, then formed an ancient seal with his hands and gently touched the foreheads of the three children. A brilliant flash of golden light erupted, and in the next instant, the three children vanished without a trace.
Feng Jiu stood momentarily stunned, her lips parting to speak, when she felt a powerful air current begin to swirl around them. In the following moment, a blinding flash of golden light shot straight upwards into the vast expanse of the sky…
What do you think?
