Chapter 2551 2551: 2551. Frozen Oddity
Su was not fazed at all by the speed that they moved. She had done a lot of training and had a high resistance to just about everything at this point. The wind that buffered her did not make her wince in the slightest. She was holding on to the feeling of strange water mana more and more though.
From what she could tell from the way that Current was acting, he was extremely uncomfortable moving closer and closer to the source of this odd water mana. But when his wings moving stuttered for a moment, Su knew that this was not a good sign.
"We are landing, we will need to walk from here." Su didn't need to ask, she felt that everything around her was more dangerous. Her instincts told her that where they were was not the same as the lake or even the woods around the lake which she had been to before. There was a baseline instinct screaming within her mind that everything was a danger to her right now.
As Current took his dragonkin form, he tried to pull at the water mana he knew should be easily manipulated by him. Yet The more that he tried the more that it seemed to be drawn in strange ways.
"The mana I gather just pulls itself apart again. Even the water I have in my hand is not directly within my control easily." Su watched the small ball of water dripping away from Current's hands. This was not at all what should be happening.
Current had some of the most powerful water mana controlling skills in the entirety of Genesis for there to be a situation like this happening to him, it meant something even more serious was occurring.
"The dribbling water is freezing too…" Su knelt and looked at the water on the grass, it was freezing in to a small icicles on the ground. They were freezing upwards with every drop as if the ground was so cold that the water wouldn't be able to run off at all.
However, the issue was that the area was not at all cold enough for this to be happening. None of it made sense and none of that should be able to affect the ways that Current controlled mana. Worse off yet, they were looking toward the lake and began to rush over only to find that the naturally formed water rune was nowhere to be seen over the lake where it had once been gathering more water mana and flowing in natural ways.
They also saw that the entire lake was frozen. Not the calm snowy frozen that came with the change of seasons. No, this was the kind of frozen that came with the sudden change in temperature as if someone had used a potent magical skill here. The water was frozen in spikes that shot out and could easily cut someone if they were to simply brush against them.
The wind pushed against them as a burst of mana came out from the center of the lake. They knew very well that the wind was just being pushed away by denser water mana.
"I think we just found something that Walker needs to handle." This was somewhat similar to what had been described by the interactions of the chaotic mana to the mana of the world. It broke the flow and caused there to be a dissonance that didn't make any sense. It also broke the stronger control of those using magical manipulation skills around it.
This was one of the few things that could cause Current to struggle so much. It was also clear that this entire area had been suffering since this occurred.
"Last time I heard that the condensed manas could connect the elemental planes through space. This plane was trying to balance itself and was putting pressure on space, isn't that the case?" Current was not out of the loop. He had the information and was deducing the source of this issue right now.
"You are right and I think we need to make sure that Walker is on his way here before it spread-" the pulse of mana that radiated opened what Su could only call a portal to a vast expanse of cold and slowness. She felt that she could now see in to what the world would be like if the water mana condensed and there was no one to hold it back and balance it properly.
"We need to get him Now!" She yelled but before she could use her communications crystal she felt her stomach twist and a pulling feeling. That pulse of mana that had radiated out was also being balanced by the natural reaction of the world to send mana back in to the elemental plane.
Thai was happening naturally with the proper bridges, not here though. It was all too dramatic. The vast variables moving back and forth were causing the manas to be sucked in and pulse out in chaotic violence. While Current was heavy and strong enough to resist, Su was much smaller and the gust of manas pulling her had dragged her thought in to this new elemental plane.
Torn between trying to rush after Su and whether he should remain here, Current realized he could get Walker here to handle the problem. He knew very well that If Su desired she could fight him head on and the odds of Su being able to beat him were not small. She had the strength to survive whatever was in that strange place he could not see and how she could handle the chaotic manas associated with it.
What he had to do was make a move right now without any hesitation.
The roar that Current released as he flew back to warn everyone was enough to ensure that every monster and anyone listening within the area turned right around. For a dragon to roar this way was both a warning of their strength but also that they were not in the slightest bit happy, they were prepared to fly in to a rage at the smallest inconvenience.
"You do not belong here. You are very different than what we are." The voice was akin to dripping water and softly falling snow. It wasn't spoken allowed but it was spoken right in to su'e mind as she found herself somewhere within a raging storm of wind and ice.
"Who? Where?"
"All around you odd one. We are the storm. We are the biting cold. We are unnamed yet we still are." Her shields were up ready to defend but Su just found that there was more ice and snow around her now. The cold was eating in to her and she knew that her resistances were the only reason that she was able to function right now. Anyone else who is weaker to wind and water mana would have already fallen.
"We were visited once. A thing able to hold us and see what we are made of. It spoke of centuries before we could go beyond. What is beyond, it is where you come from? When do we see it? Are you one of them?"
The speed that Su's mind raced told her that this was something Walker had to handle. Something that he would understand so much more. But to say that she didn't start to assemble the pieces? Not at all. She had a very good idea of what was happening here.
She had listened carefully to what Walker had told them. She knew that the elemental planes formed out in chaotic mana. She knew that they could accidentally connect to the world. She even remembered when Walker told her that other more powerful origin beings took the formed elemental planes and brought them together waiting for the right time to incorporate them in to the greater elemental planes.
"I know one of them, an origin being who can move your elemental plane. This was not the way it should happen, but he will come to help you and i. He won't let you stay here and suffer like this."
"Suffer? Is that what this is? The odd other things coming here, that is suffering?"
It was like speaking to something entirely foreign. Something both intelligent but entirely lost as to what was going on around it. Closer to a child or an elderly man mixing up his memories. "There is a lot more to everything you will get to see, but until my friend gets here, can you help me survive? The cold and wind might be a little dangerous for me. I am trained to handle those other things so let me use my shields and protect you from those other things too." Su changed her armor with her skills and slammed shields together to take a stance in front of where she sensed deep mana coming from the world.
Now, she just needed to hope it would all go well and that Walker was on his way.
