Volume 5 Chapter 47: Betting Everything on A Single Strike

Under the continuous onslaught of attack coming from the people under Walson's command, the damage caused to the skeletal Ashura was considerable, but it seemed far from enough.

As the resources that are needed to continue the never ending attack dwindled, Walson ordered the team to temporarily retreat, and the skeletal Ashura began to regain its ability to move, coming back to life.

1600 meters away from where Walson and the giant skeletal Ashura is, in the place Grace and her group currently are.

"Grace, are you really okay with this?" Derisha asked, hesitatingly looking at Grace.

"...No problem," Grace said, tying a magically formed rope around Derisha and herself.

Grace's feet were injured from the previous explosion that the skeletal giant caused, making it difficult for her to stand steadily.

Melon and Aurevia, standing on the side, had uneasy expressions on their face as they looked at the girl. The reason for their expression was simple; Grace's plan was too crazy.

Sending away the messenger Walson called and opting for this method... Is it really okay?

"Grace, if—" Aurevia tried to advise.

"---No 'if'," Grace tied a knot with the magical rope, slung her staff behind her, "Walson has voluntarily pushed himself to the front."

Grace's gaze was incredibly determined, looking straight into Aurevia's eyes.

"...I want to live up to Walson's determination," she paused, "so there's no 'if.'"

Grace snapped her fingers, her feet left the ground, floating in mid-air.

After a while, Aurevia sighed helplessly, closed her eyes, and when she opened them again, she was influenced by Grace's emotions.

"Alright, no 'if,'" Aurevia unfolded the wings of the Honeywalker.

"No 'if," Melon crouched down, and the Wrist of Cruelty emitted a series of ammunition loading sounds.

"If you all say so, then I won't care either!" Derisha slightly bent over, and the green magical waves of wind gathered around her. With a shout, she started moving, releasing a burst of wind pressure behind her.

Derisha rushed toward the giant skeletal Ashura at her top speed, pulling Grace alongside her!

No retreat, no 'if,' a non-stop rush with a distance of 1600 meters to the designated target!

The strong wind pressure coming towards Grace made her long hair flutter, but she remained unfazed. She just opened her hands and faced forward, simultaneously chanting a short magic enhancement, increasing Derisha's speed.

1300 meters.

Releasing the [Anti-Melon Spear Prototype 1.0], Derisha threw it backward along with a long iron chain held by Derisha's left hand. Controlled by Grace's magic, it floated next to Grace and followed the two as they continued to sprint.

1200 meters.

Derisha activated the armor on her hand, the [Omnivision Wristguard]. The gears on it turned continuously, and an endless stream of water gushed out, forming a new spear of water in Derisha's right hand as she chanted magic.

The excess water just "flowed" backward. Grace groaned; the water eroded her body, almost blinding her vision.

In front, flames burned, heat and lava roiled, but it couldn't slow down Derisha's steps. With a roar, she swung the water spear.

Jumping into the hot pool requires not only courage but also a disregard for life.

1000 meters.

Derisha shouted again, stabbing the water spear down, forcefully breaking open a corner of the hot pool. Derisha pulled Grace into the hot pool like a drill!

The surging water touched the lava the moment it erupted, releasing high-temperature steam and forming a layer of purplish-black rock, blocking the lava's backflow.

Separating the "Red Sea," they continued forward!

800 meters.

Behind her, Grace's eyes were already unable to see due to the erosion of the water, but she still reached out her hands, feeling the purplish-black hard rock.

Cut, cut.

At the limit, how many blocks can she [Dominate] using her [Block Handling] simultaneously now? Grace asked herself this question.

700 meters.

Walson mentioned that lava and water can create the most robust materials.

So, what kind of weapon should be made with this material?

In the hot lava pool, a strange phenomenon occurred. Countless purplish-black cubes danced and whirled under Grace's [Dominate], advancing together with the resolute Derisha.

600 meters.

The skeletal Ashura, chasing after Walson's group, swung a giant blade and casually chopped off a mountain, causing a shower of fragmented rocks to come tumbling down!

With a continuous sound of crunch and explosion. Melon advanced in the air with zigzag steps, while Aurevia balanced with her wings, keeping up with Derisha's steps.

Both of the girls are clearing the path!

500 meters.

Out of the hot pool, the magical rope, continuously supplied by magic, broke. Finally, exhausted and covered in injuries, Grace fell behind.

In her hazy vision, Derisha gradually moved away. Grace struggled to reach out her hand, driving the last bit of strength.

Centered around [Anti-Melon Spear Prototype 1.0], wrapped in the toughest material, countless [Obsidian] continued to spin and dance, then began to assemble, forming a pitch black spear that could penetrate everything!

Grace fell, and Aurevia flew low, taking her away.

Derisha's steps became heavy, feeling a bit surprised at how heavy the newly made spear is.

At this moment, the golden magic circle covering the entire wasteland rapidly shrank, turning into a beam of golden light that shot towards them, causing Derisha to lighten her posture!

300 meters!

In the scorched land, on the tallest peak.

Belle, holding the [Oathkeeper — X Curry Stick] on her hand, after overseeing and managing the massive golden magic circle, finally collapsed.

"In the end, I can only help you up to here."

200 meters!

The Wind Dragon Wings unfolded from behind Derisha, the last boost in speed. This was Derisha's final chip.

Derisha removed her eyepatch, and the unavoidable trajectory of falling rocks was kicked apart by the sounds of successive explosions.

Melon accurately calculated the remaining ammunition, continuing the work of clearing the path.

The skeletal Ashura finally realized that a very troublesome storm was approaching it!

"——Great Vortex Spear!" Derisha roared, combining the wind pressure, water flow, and the purifying holy light into a massive storm.

Derisha propelled the [Obsidian] Giant Spear, leaping into the air.

100 meters!

The withering Ashura swung its blade, launching an attack!

With just one strike, Derisha, along with the ground, was sent flying. The momentum of the attack shifted towards the sky, but the direction of the attack could no longer be changed.

At this moment, Derisha heard a familiar voice behind her.

"Miss Derisha, I'll give you a lift." Melon spun rapidly, providing a foothold for Derisha with her own feet in this instant!

The aura of a dragon was faintly contained in this kick. Melon used up all her ammunition, kicking Derisha, who was holding the [Obsidian] Giant Spear, towards the withering Ashura!

Betting everything as a stake, just to gamble for a future! Derisha faced the skeletal Ashura! This was the end!

The skeletal Ashura had no way to avoid it, only roaring and lifting its great sword!

"[Great Destruction Origin - Scattered Dance of Annihilation]!!!"
