Legendary Beast Master: Starting with Contracting SSS Rank Dragon

Chapter 51: Map Done, Slaughter Begins

Chapter 51: Map Done, Slaughter Begins

The map-making task proved to be harder than Kael had thought, as the fortress was really big and had at least five large floors, and even a deep underground cell where he found many skeletons imprisoned.

He expected it to be the location for the spawner of skeletons, but he didn’t find anything there—not even monsters.

On the other floors, he found mostly Piglins guarding some chests or random rooms. They were practically everywhere. The only other type of monster they encountered was a weird Flame Elemental that sounded like a chain moving whenever it moved.

They had followed its trails and finally found the spawner they had been looking for all this time.

They killed one of the Flame Elementals that had just spawned and entered the room where the spawner was located.

’So, this is a spawner?’ Kiona thought in wonder as she stared at the strange object before her.

In a set of dark bricks, a cubical-shaped iron cage was there, and in its centre was a deep red flame that pulsated with occasional bursts of blue colour.

This flame was producing all the Flame Elementals.

"Are we going to seal it for now?" Kiona asked. "That way, we won’t have to worry about new enemies coming to kill us, and then we can unseal it to use it for ourselves."

"We don’t have anything to seal it," Kael muttered before looking sideways at the walls. "Unless we can take out these bricks to block the room’s entrance."

They immediately commenced the plan as they went into the corridor and tried to take out the bricks, but they were glued tightly against each other, so even with their immense strength, it was seemingly an impossible task.

Kael stopped and stared at the black bricks with a frustrated look in his eyes. He said, "Kill everyone who comes near."

While Kiona didn’t understand what he intended to do, she just nodded and got ready for any attacks. She also kept an eye on the spawner.

As for Kael, he transformed one of his hands into [Draconic Claws] and used them to cut open the bricks. They were incredibly sharp, so even cutting down these bricks was a manageable task.

He quickly cut open a few black bricks that would fit in the entrance, but his claws turned out to be shorter, so he had to punch it.

The noise drew a few monsters nearby, but they were relatively weak, so Kiona quickly dispatched them. There was also a Flame Elemental that she killed swiftly.

Perhaps because of her affinity, her attacks worked better on the Flame Elemental. It was as if her sheer presence could suppress its defences since it was made mostly out of fire.

By that time, Kael was also done with his work as he took out the stone bricks from the wall and lined them up in the room’s entrance.

"These stones stick together using the extreme heat," Kael explained. "So, use your flames to give them a tighter hold around the room. It will keep the Flame Elementals from escaping."

Kiona nodded, as her flames flared up and covered the black bricks. She kept the temperature high so that they would continue to stick together.

"That’s enough. We already have a good environment to sustain it," Kael said, having a smile on his face. "Now, it’s time for the slaughter to begin."

They looked into each other’s eyes and saw the raw fighting spirit. Nodding at each other, they ran to their right. They had already planned to give all the kills to Kael so that he could level up quickly.

Once they both were at D-Rank, it would be much easier to kill the Floor Boss. They had discovered its main lair where it was resting, but didn’t enter because of the dangers.

It was at the bottom of this stone fortress, waiting for some foolish mortal to enter so that it could finish all of them.

So, they planned to first reach the D-Rank.

As they were following the map, it didn’t take them long to find their first enemy, who was a Piglin with a metal sword in his hand.

Kael’s eyes narrowed as the Piglin turned its head, sensing their approach. Its beady red eyes locked onto him, and it raised its rusted metal sword, squealing a garbled war cry that echoed down the corridor.

’It looks like their perception is better than I imagined. Fortunately, we kept our distance.’

From the adjacent rooms, two more Piglins emerged—one wielding a jagged axe and the other with a crude spear. All three snarled in unison, their square bodies adorned with scraps of mismatched armour that glinted dully in the dim torchlight of the fortress.

Kael stepped forward with no hesitation, his expression calm but also filled with excitement. He muttered, "[Draconic Claws]."

His right hand shimmered, the flesh warping as dark silver scales spread across his forearm, fingers stretching and curving into gleaming obsidian claws. Sparks crackled to life around his feet as his body was cloaked in a thin veil of blue lightning—the activation of [Lightning Mantle].

BOOM!

With a single explosive step, Kael vanished from sight and reappeared mid-air above the Piglins. Lightning surged around him, wreathing his body in crackling arcs of power. The Piglins shrieked in surprise, reacting sluggishly as Kael descended like a thunderbolt.

"Let’s see how you handle this," he muttered.

His claws lashed downward in a brutal arc toward the spear-wielding Piglin. The creature raised its weapon to block, but Kael’s Draconic Claws sliced through the crude shaft like paper.

The claws didn’t stop—they dug into the Piglin’s shoulder, carving deep into its chest. Dark ashes splattered against the stone walls as the Piglin crashed into the floor, convulsing.

The surprise attack using [Lightning Mantle] really worked well, but now the two remaining creatures were wary of him and were on alert.

But it didn’t matter in the end, as they were just slightly intelligent E-Rank monsters. They weren’t a match for Kael unless they ganged up on him.

Sadly for them, he had already acted accordingly and made plans so that he didn’t get surrounded.

"It’s your turn, Axy boy!"
