Legendary Architect of Apocalypse

Chapter 185 185: You are the target

This time, the scroll didn't just have the name, but also the last names of the students. It made Elias's name stand out even more, since everyone remembered him as the person who had awakened the auxiliary class.

Not only was he in the Destroyer Class somehow, but he was also considered the top rank student? It made those from the Creator Class start paying even more attention to him.

"Oh? Your brother is also taking part in this test? Is that why you came here as a supervisor? You want to help him?" The corner of Helen's lips crept up. She thought that she finally understood why someone like Elten was here, instead of Grey.

Elten didn't bother explaining either. It didn't matter to him if she thought that he was here to help him. Even if he wanted to help him, could she even do anything to stop him? She could just sulk.

In any case, he didn't think that his brother needed help. Although he couldn't quite understand it either, his brother was someone who had achieved the impossible many times already.

He had killed a Professor at the Academy, being only the second person after him to have achieved such a thing. Not only that, but he also killed Esterin Clan's heir.

He had kidnapped Dreke, and even stood up to their father. If he could stand up to Silas Ashborn, then was this test really something where he would need help? It was impossible.

It was more accurate to say that Elten was looking forward to watching a good show that could keep someone like him awake.

"Just so you know, I won't allow you to help him. If you ever tried, I would expel him right away, even if he is your brother," Helen told Elten, who again ignored her.

"I'm so scared," he jokingly said, before clapping. A throne made of bones materialized behind him in the air. He sat on the throne, resting one leg over the other like the Monarch of Death.

"Since you're worried about my interference, I will allow you to take the lead. You can tell them the rules, and everything else that they need to remember."

"Tch, is it not because you're simply lazy? Whatever." Helen was frustrated that she had to handle everything alone, but she also didn't want to give Elten an opportunity to chest.

"Listen up everyone!" She said loudly. Her voice again echoed in the surrounding, but it felt particularly sharp in the ears of the Destroyer Class students. It was as if she targeted them intentionally.

Elten raised a brow, but he didn't intervene. As long as it wasn't something that could hurt the children, he let her have her fun. But it didn't mean he wasn't going to have his own fun.

He raised his hands, and clapped once. His clap was just as sharp, and sent the ears of the Creator Class children ringing.

Helen glared back at him.

"What? I was just helping you get their attention." Elten lazily answered.

"Don't help me anymore."

"As you wish, fellow pig. I'm too lazy to argue with you." Elten yawned once more, and closed his eyes.

Helen shifted her attention back to the children spread across the city. "I am sure you are already given a few briefings about this test by the Professor escorting you?"

The children of the Destroyer Class were more stunned when they heard it, and looked at Elten in the sky. Did that man tell them anything? They couldn't recall anything. Just what lazy professor were they given?

The only time they heard anything about this test was when Professor Grey first informed them, about two weeks ago. But that was also very vague.

Fortunately for them, Helen's words didn't stop there. She further continued, bringing a wave of relief in the Destroyer Class.

"Still, I will repeat it one last time," she stated.

"The most important thing to consider, is that this isn't a test where you should fight amongst yourselves like your previous tests."

"This will be a battle of classes. You can work together with your classmates, but that doesn't mean you can't backstab them if it benefits you."

"The second most important thing to consider is that you can't use your abilities. Your role in this test is only that of a commander. You can only issue commands to your Soul Beasts, or Summoned Beasts."

"You can grant your treasures to your soul beasts or summoned beasts to help them, but that's the extent of any external help you can provide. This is a battle of your intelligence, and the capabilities of the Beasts that you managed to win over."

"We understand that we can't help our soul beasts, but what even is this test? Are we simply fighting their Summoned Beasts to kill them? We don't even know the crux of this test yet. Will the test end when all their Summoned Beasts are dead?"

A child from the Destroyer Class raised a question, cutting Helen's sentence in between.

Helen didn't take the interruption lightly, and even thought about teaching that boy a lesson. But when she noticed the emblem on his chest, she controlled her temper.

"That is a very good question, and the answer is no. The test has nothing to do with you killing their Summoned Beasts, or them killing your Soul Beasts. If that was the case, we would simply have one on one battles."

"The test is about you taking down the commander of the other side using your Beasts!" Helen explained, before asking, "And who are the Commanders?"

"Us," a child said.

"That's right. You are the target! In this test, you can't use any of your abilities! You can only command your beasts, and that's it. And you are also the target. If you are taken hostage by the other side, or killed, you will lose."

"We will be temporarily sealing your class to ensure that you can't cheat and use your abilities!"

"The team which takes more hostages, or kills more commanders on the other side, will win. There will also be individual scoring, which will be decided by us."
