That morning, as Emma and their mother had cereal for breakfast, they discussed seriously how to get Josh to the hospital. They had managed to make an appointment, but they couldn’t call an ambulance. The only way they could take Josh to the hospital was to transport him by car.
The problem was that Josh was too large.
Those gorillas.
Emma thought to herself angrily. Plus, Josh was the leader of the gorillas. As far as she knew, her brother was over six feet tall and weighed nearly 200 pounds. He’d likely lost some weight after not eating or drinking for days, but even then, it wasn’t going to make much of a difference.
This was the time to use the gorillas’ teamwork.
Josh was comparatively leaner than the members of his football team. Thinking about the massive bodies and heights of the others, Emma realized that now was the time to use those big guys to her advantage.
"I'll make the call."
With that declaration, Emma climbed the stairs and headed toward Josh’s room. When she opened the door, she immediately felt the fragrance, which had filled the house earlier, now stronger and more intense.
