Journey to the West: Great Saint Equal to Heaven

Chapter 26 - 26 26 Skirmish

26: Chapter 26 Skirmish 26: Chapter 26 Skirmish The Roc Demon King gave a faint smile and said, “It seems we can only have a proper fight.”

He didn’t mind at all, his calmness terrifying.

Sun Wukong and the Ox Demon King’s pupils shrank slightly.

Could it be that the Roc Demon King still had something to rely on?

He alone was definitely not the match of both of them.

The Demon Kings of the Demon Clan alliance were also nervous, worriedly watching the scene before them.

Even the more naive demons knew that the Roc Demon King facing two opponents wasn’t very realistic.

Yet the Roc Demon King remained confident; he coldly smiled and said, “Brothers, please come out.”

As he spoke, two terrifying demonic auras shot up into the sky, shaking heaven and earth.

Two great demons appeared, one of them wrapped in the Great Dao of Water with the power to overturn rivers and seas, indeed it was the Water Monkey Great Sage Wu Zhiji.

The other great demon, wearing a tarnished silver helmet shining brighter than snow, and donning helmet armor that outshone autumn frost, was covered in a brocade robe, truly like clouds enveloping jade, his waist encircled with a rhinoceros-pattern belt, indeed like a python wrapped in gold.

In his hand he held a crescent moon spade that sent out flashes of rosy light, and he wore pigskin boots that split the flow of water.

It was indeed the Nine-Headed Beast.

Sun Wukong sneered repeatedly, “I wondered which Demon Kings they were; it turns out to be the Water Monkey Great Sage and the Nine-Headed Beast.

You think you can stop us with just yourselves?”

Wu Zhiji’s eyes were brimming with radiant golden light.

He stared at Sun Wukong and said coldly, “You killed my Great Ape King Sun, today I have come to defeat you and avenge my Sun.”

Sun Wukong did not argue.

The Great Ape King had indeed perished by his hand, and it was only natural for the other to seek revenge on him.

As for the Nine-Headed Beast, he shouted, “Sun Wukong, considering the difficulty of your cultivation, if you submit to my master, I can ensure your immortality through countless calamities.”

His eyes were coldly harsh as he looked at Sun Wukong’s appearance, which reminded him of the Six-Eared Macaque.

After the battle at Emerald Waves Lake, except for his own escape, all his kin had been killed.

He himself had also had one head bitten off by the barks-at-heaven dog.

If not for his master’s aid, he might have died as well.

Now seeing Sun Wukong with a face similar to the Six-Eared Macaque, his desire for revenge was intense.

Sun Wukong smiled faintly, disdainfully saying, “A mere sneaky rat, also worthy of my Old Sun’s allegiance?

Even the Great Heavenly Venerate wouldn’t dare such a thought; what is your master in comparison?”

“Seeking death.”

Both the Roc Demon King and the Nine-Headed Beast were furious.

Sun Wukong sneered, “No need for more drivel; let’s see the truth in the fight.”

The Ox Demon King picked up his Mixed Iron Rod and said, “Leave the third one to me; the other two are yours.

I want to personally subdue that brute.”

“Be careful, brother, and don’t underestimate him,” warned Sun Wukong.

The Ox Demon King chuckled coldly.

As the foremost Great Saint of the Demon Clan, who had fought countless battles to earn his title, he would never be careless.

Facing any enemy, he would always remain vigilant.

Especially against a top-tier strength like the Roc Demon King, whose true combat power was hardly any less than his own.

“Third one, come and fight,” the Ox Demon King called out, swinging his Mixed Iron Rod directly at his opponent.

Powerful mana filled the Mixed Iron Rod, descending with a terrifying force.

At this strike, all demons were horrified, and the Immortals and Buddhas trembled.

The number one Great Saint of the Demon Clan was truly showing his unrivaled edge.

The Roc Demon King had a flash of brilliance in his hand, and a black spear emerged; he thrust the spear out to fight.

Clang.

The two confronted each other, exchanging blows.

The collision of powerful mana sent mountains flying.

The Sun, Moon, and stars all trembled, as if they would be shaken down from the sky.

This was the clash between top-tier powers of the Three Realms, a battle that could truly destroy heaven and obliterate earth.

Sun Wukong pulled out the Ruyi Jingu Bang from his ear and bellowed, “Watch the staff!”

He charged towards the second demon.

The Nine-Headed Beast wielded the Crescent Moon Spade to meet the attack, but after only three rounds, it became completely drained, weak and exhausted.

Its heart raced, and its face was filled with terror.

In the past, when it fought with the Six-Eared Macaque, it could last for dozens of rounds, so how could it be so utterly defeated in front of Sun Wukong?

Little did it know that back then, Sun Wukong’s strength was just a mere fraction of his peak, and even then, he managed to fight the Six-Eared Macaque to a standstill.

Now that he had regained his peak mana, even if the Nine-Headed Beast had improved, it was no match for Sun Wukong.

Seeing the Nine-Headed Beast defeated, the Water Monkey Great Sage joined the fray.

He too wielded an iron staff, jet black in color, and parried Sun Wukong’s Jingu Bang, engaging in a fierce battle with him.

After dozens of rounds, Sun Wukong finally gained the upper hand.

He could not help but exclaim in admiration, “The Water Monkey Great Sage truly lives up to his reputation, capable of matching up to eighty percent of Old Sun’s strength.”

Was that supposed to be a compliment?

Matching up to a junior’s eighty percent certainly wasn’t a matter of glory.

Wu Zhiji’s face turned dark as he snorted coldly.

The Great Dao of Water around him trembled, and as rivers, lakes, and seas appeared, he controlled them, sending torrents cascading down from the Nine Heavens, aiming to strike Sun Wukong.

At this moment, the Nine-Headed Beast went berserk, revealing its true form and biting directly towards Sun Wukong.

Sun Wukong stood firm as a rock.

With a swing of his staff, he smashed off one of the Nine-Headed Beast’s heads.

The Nine-Headed Beast screamed in agony, flapping its wings as it fled in defeat towards the West Sea.

Sun Wukong paid it no mind, focusing instead on the Water Monkey Great Sage.

Facing the endless onslaught of water, he infused his mana into the Jingu Bang, which manifested the Law of Heaven and Earth, specifically designed to counter the Great Dao of Water.

The rivers, lakes, and seas above the Nine Heavens were all immobilized, calm and serene.

Wu Zhiji’s expression shifted subtly as he realized that Sun Wukong’s Sea-Calming Divine Needle inherently restrained his Great Dao of Water.

Attacking Sun Wukong with the Great Dao of Water was simply making things unpleasant for himself.

By the time he thought to retract his attack, it was already too late.

A cold light flashed in Sun Wukong’s eyes as he smashed his Golden Hoop Staff down.

“Be shattered.”

The vast watery onslaught was broken by a single strike from Sun Wukong’s staff.

The Jingu Bang ruthlessly struck Wu Zhiji, sending him flying.

Boom.

Wu Zhiji crashed into a mountain, which instantly crumbled to dust.

This sight left all the big and small Demon Kings trembling with fear and filled with genuine awe for Sun Wukong’s power.

Sun Wukong did not relax; that strike had not been enough to kill Wu Zhiji.

Sure enough, the ancient Water Monkey Great Sage stood up from the shattered rocks.

He revealed his true form, towering a hundred thousand feet tall, with the Black Iron Staff in his hand also enlarging as he ferociously smashed it down towards Sun Wukong.

Sun Wukong snorted coldly and executed the Law of Heaven and Earth.

A Ferocious Ape, also a hundred thousand feet in size, appeared with an enlarged Golden Hoop Staff in hand, blocking Wu Zhiji’s strike.

The two colossal apes fiercely fought back and forth, causing a commotion that shook the heavens and the earth.

Meanwhile, the Ox Demon King and the Roc Demon King revealed their true forms, each spanning thousands of miles.

The Ox Demon King’s massive horns left wound after wound on the Roc Demon King’s body.

And the Roc Demon King’s sharp talons tore gash after gash into the Ox Demon King’s flesh.

Their battle was brutally vicious, a bloody spectacle.

The harder the Ox Demon King fought, the more the Roc Demon King cried out in pain.

But the Roc Demon King’s pride was ignited, furiously fighting and marking the Ox Demon King with wound after wound.

Their spilled blood flowed like it cost nothing, staining the earth, converging into a river of blood.

A sharp light flashed in Sun Wukong’s eyes, realizing that if this continued, even if the Ox Demon King killed the Roc Demon King, he would still be seriously wounded.
