Glamour and Sass: A Rejected Bride's Revenge

Chapter 10: Samuel’s plan

Chapter 10: Samuel’s plan

Just as Emma was about to leave, Cecilia pulled her back.

"You’re not allowed to go anywhere!"

Emma protested, "Why not?"

Cecilia continued dressing up, ignoring Emma, who was sulking beside her.

"Mommy has important matters today, and you can’t wander around. I’ll have Edwin come and accompany you."

On one hand, Cecilia did have a lead. She got a clue from the detective about her son, and she needed to verify it.

On the other hand, there was a big demon living upstairs, and she couldn’t trust Steven. She had heard about his cruelty, and she couldn’t imagine what would happen if he hurt Emma.

After that, she left.

Meanwhile, Alex wasn’t doing any better next door.

Ethan had stationed himself outside the room, grinning smugly at him.

"Just sit tight and wait for my brother to come pick you up!"

Meanwhile, at the hotel entrance, a woman was lurking around suspiciously.

It was Sophie.

Ever since Frank told her and Samuel that Cecilia had taken away all the funds, Samuel had barely spared her a glance.

She knew the truth—he only got together with her because of the money.

Sophie was scared of being abandoned, but she was more scared that Samuel and Cecilia would get back together.

She couldn’t let anyone steal away her belongings.

But now, things were different.

She had recently discovered she was pregnant with Samuel’s child.

The Kingsley family had been eager for an heir, and to secure her place in the family, she had secretly tampered with their precautions, successfully conceiving his child.

Yet, when she shared the news with Samuel, he had been indifferent, only perfunctorily said that he acknowledged. And then he left in a hurry.

Yesterday, she discovered the Samuel knew he had come here to send Cecilia flowers, and also knew the flowers were finally tossed into the trash by Cecilia.

She also knew the real reason for his presence, the Leaves Fund that had been stolen by that wretched woman.

That’s why she was waiting for Samuel here.

As the mother of his child, it was her duty to stand by him and offer support all the time.

But instead of seeing Samuel, she unexpectedly ran straight into Cecilia.

Cecilia was dressed inconspicuously in a dark gray coat, a face mask, and a baseball cap, only her eyes were visible.

Sophie was able to recognize her at a glance.

Yet, even with just those eyes, Cecilia was stunning enough.

And Sophie, despite all her careful primping, was still effortlessly overshadowed.

Why?

Jealousy flared in Sophie’s heart.

She reached out, blocking Cecilia in her path.

"Where are you sneaking off to?"

Cecilia had no intention of responding, but Sophie suddenly raised her voice.

"Could it be that you just came out from a man’s room?"

Heads turned.

Slap!

Cecilia raised a hand and slapped Sophie straight at her face.

Clean. Crisp. Satisfying.

A sound that echoed through the entrance.

"Shut your filthy mouth. One more word, and it won’t just be a slap."

"I don’t have time to waste on you today. Get lost."

With that, she strode off, leaving Sophie frozen in place.

Under the scrutiny of the onlookers, Sophie fled the hotel in tears.

“Bitch, let’s wait and see.”

Meanwhile, at the Kingsley mansion, Samuel was lying on the sofa thinking about how to win Cecilia back.

Despite his daily visits with flowers, he couldn’t even glimpse at her. Now, the Lawrences had warned him that they would kick him out if he continued lingering around the hotel.

How was this woman so difficult to chase after! Wasn’t she naive before?

He hit the sofa in frustration.

Suddenly, he had an idea and a smug smile appeared on his face.

No woman can resist a sense of ceremony. This time, I’ll organize a grand confession in front of all our friends. She’ll be so moved, and then this will be done!

With this thought in mind, he quickly took out his phone, used his best writing skills, and sent a brief yet commanding message to Cecilia.

However, he didn’t notice that he had tapped the contact for someone next to Cecilia by mistake, Sophie.

On the other side, Sophie was looking at the pregnancy report in her hands, her face full of worry.

What if Samuel really gets captivated by Sophie? What will happen to me and the baby...

At that moment, her phone suddenly received a message.

She opened it, and her smile immediately widened.

"To beautiful Miss Morrison, tonight at the hotel banquet hall, I will give you a special surprise. Please be sure to attend. This is a notification, not an invitation."

Sophie was thrilled. So Samuel was just pretending all along! He’s planning to surprise me! He loves me!

In her joy, she recalled Cecilia’s disgusted expression, and she snorted coldly.

"I’ll invite you too, so you can see with your own eyes how much Samuel loves me!"

With that thought, she quickly sent a message to Cecilia.

[Sister, you know I only want Samuel. As long as you stop seeing him, I’ll tell you the location of your child. Let’s meet at the hotel banquet hall at 7 p.m. tonight.]

Cecilia had just arrived at the private detective’s office when she read the message. She smirked, and she only left the message as "Read." It was her own way of responding.

So, someone couldn’t resist and finally mentioned her son from years ago. Whether it was true or false, Cecilia had to listen. She couldn’t afford to overlook any clues she could get, considering how little she had now.

On the other hand, Sophie smiled sinisterly as she clutched the pregnancy report. She would gather everyone in the hall tonight and show them who was Samuel’s true love.

With this baby, Samuel wouldn’t even consider getting back together with Cecilia. After all, her baby was actually his, while Cecilia’s wasn’t.

Tonight, she would humiliate Cecilia severely and reopen her old wounds again.

At six o’clock in the evening, Cecilia returned to the hotel tiredly.

The so-called clue from the detective turned out to be a few very blurry surveillance recordings. After watching them for hours, she couldn’t make anything out of it.

Upon returning to the hotel, Edwin was cooking for Emma.

Emma was sitting on the balcony, chatting with her "little brother."

When she saw Cecilia return, she shouted toward the balcony, "Little brother, Mommy’s back! See you around! Don’t be late!"

Afterward, she ran into Cecilia’s arms, "Mommy, you’re back! I missed you so much."

Cecilia brushed Emma’s little nose affectionately. "You’re so suspiciously sweet. What do you want?"

Emma’s thoughts were all over her face; she couldn’t hide anything.

"I’ve been in the room all day today. Can we go out and play for a while, Mommy?"

She snuggled into Cecilia’s arm, acting cute. "Mommy~"

Cecilia was defeated, thinking that she hadn’t spent much time with Emma today. She could only nod.

"But Mommy is busy today. Edwin will take you out to play, okay?"

Emma was delighted. "Okay! Mommy is the best!"

After dinner, it was almost seven o’clock.

Cecilia sent Edwin and Emma out of the room before going in the opposite direction.

‘Sophie Morrison, let’s see what you’re up to!’

On the other hand, Emma looked excitedly at her kids watch in the elevator.

"It’s almost time, Little Brother. I’ll be there soon!"
