Chapter 1022: Meticulous Planning

Cong Zhongyu hurriedly replied, “Of course, the more the better.”
Huang Yuanlang showed a faint smile. “I’ll think about it. I have important guests today, so I won’t keep you any longer. Leave your contact details with Elysion—you may go.”
Elysion was clearly the name of the cat-like creature.
“Yes, yes. We sincerely hope the Young City Lord will lend us his aid. The Spaceborne clan will surely remember your kindness,” Cong Zhongyu said respectfully. He understood that these Higher Dragon clans were proud and aloof. Not daring to linger, he turned and hurried off.
Elysion followed him out. At this point, the auctioneer Yicai was wrapping up the event.
Huang Yuanlang stood up, smiling. “My dear sister, I’ve let you witness quite the spectacle. The Spaceborne Clan must be in serious trouble. This situation could bring us considerable profit. I won’t keep you tonight—I'll leave you my contact details. Let’s stay in touch. By the way, do you have time tomorrow? I’d like to treat you to a meal and personally deliver today’s auction items.”
“Tomorrow? Sure. I don’t have any plans—I’ll be in Fenglong City for the next few days,” Bai Xiuxiu replied with a gentle smile, at least from Huang Yuanlang’s perspective.
He was somewhat surprised. “You said a few days… what about after that? Any plans?”
Bai Xiuxiu said, “Not really. If you guys officially register me and pay me, I won’t bother traveling to other cities on Celestial Dragon Planet. I’ll take the money and go home. My home’s by the sea, and I’ve got lots of treasures I’ve collected there.”Huang Yuanlang felt reassured and smiled. “Great. Then I’ll see you tomorrow.”
With that, he nodded to Bai Xiuxiu and left.
What he had just learned about the Spaceborne Clan was of great importance. Time was of the essence. If he moved quickly, he could gain a major advantage—he wasn’t the only sharp-eyed individual around. This was the perfect opportunity to heavily exploit the Spaceborne Clan.
The Spaceborne Warships were a coveted asset among the various clans of Celestial Celestial Dragon Planet. They were the only tech in the Dragon Horse Galaxy that could rival the warships of the Douluo Federation and could perform spatial jumps—perfect for self-defense, at the very least.
Although he was eager to get closer to Bai Xiuxiu, the immediate opportunity was more valuable.
“Let’s go,” Bai Xiuxiu said as she stood and led the group out.
Outside, escorts were already waiting and guided them back to their residence.
Once home, they activated soundproofing and sealed the room with soul power. Bai Xiuxiu let out a sigh, slumping onto the couch, covering her face. “Acting is exhausting! That guy is really sharp—not easy to fool.”
Lan Xuanyu nodded. “That Huang Yuanlang has a brain. He deliberately lured the Spaceborne Clan out to gauge how desperate they were for Space Origin Crystals and deduce their current situation. He’s clearly planning to make a huge profit. But we also got useful intel: First, relations between the Spaceborne Clan and other Dragon Horse races aren’t great. They likely relied on the crystals to do as they pleased. Second, Fenglong City is indeed rich in resources. Third, the Higher Dragons must be divided into factions—otherwise, he wouldn’t keep asking which family you belong to.”
“You think he believed what I said today?” Bai Xiuxiu asked.
“Not entirely, but he didn’t doubt everything either,” Lan Xuanyu replied with a smile. “He believed most of it. He’ll probably try to investigate your background, but he’ll find nothing. We left no trace before coming here. Our only weak point is Liang Pu. He used the forged metals we brought to trade and booked our lodging—he might raise suspicion.”
“Huh?” Bai Xiuxiu suddenly stood up, realizing how serious that was.
Where did their forged metals come from? They couldn’t explain it. If they claimed it was smuggled—where’s the source? It wouldn’t hold up to scrutiny. If Huang Yuanlang found out, they’d be in big trouble.
“It’s fine, don’t worry. I believe Brother Xuanyu wouldn’t leave such an obvious hole.” Yuanen Huihui said with a grin.
Lan Xuanyu chuckled. “See? Even Huihui trusts my skills more than you.”
Bai Xiuxiu gave him a glare. “Spit it out—what did you do?”
Lan Xuanyu replied calmly, “Liang Pu is just an ordinary Blue Sea Clan member. As long as our control over him is stronger than their interrogation skills, it’ll be fine. Little Trea left a spiritual imprint in his mind—it can take over his consciousness remotely. If anyone questions him, Little Trea will answer in his place, then restore his memory. So, all Huang Yuanlang will learn is that we’re a group of clueless Blue Sea people selling our native ores. We even opened an account at the Celestial Dragon Bank Exchange. That’s not something we need to hide—in fact, it reinforces the story that you’re a wild-born dragon.”
“You schemer.” Bai Xiuxiu sighed in relief and playfully stuck her tongue out.
Lan Mengqin folded her arms. “Xuanyu, I just want to know—how does it feel using your girlfriend’s beauty as a tactic?”
“It’s not beauty—it’s strength. Xiuxiu’s power is what impressed Huang Yuanlang, not her looks. She could potentially become a Dragon Knight. If he’s truly interested, and we haven’t exposed ourselves, he can only approach her through proper channels,” Lan Xuanyu said.
Bai Xiuxiu grinned. “Huang Yuanlang is quite handsome. Of course, he’s also a schemer like you, but a minor one at best.”
Lan Xuanyu's form shimmered as he reverted to his true appearance. “Handsome? Him? More than me? Come on—take a good look at your boyfriend. When it comes to looks, I only bow to Uncle Le. Actually, scratch that—I'm even better. The student surpasses the master!”
Bai Xiuxiu burst into laughter. “You’re so shameless. Seriously though—what’s next? Are we really joining the royal clan to infiltrate?”
Lan Xuanyu replied, “Not just yet. I’m sure Huang Yuanlang will bring you the auction items at tomorrow’s dinner. Those items—especially the Space Origin Crystals—are nice, but they’re nothing compared to a Dragon Knight. He was shocked by your dual attributes. Natural dual-attribute dragons must be incredibly rare. That means, in his eyes, you have a strong shot at becoming a Dragon Knight. He’ll probably offer to help with your training and urge you to join the royal family.”
“And we won’t be going with you. We’ll wait nearby. You should subtly ask if there are any good training grounds in Fenglong City, and what dragons can do to improve their cultivation. He’ll likely provide access to a facility and push you to join the royal family. You can agree to register first, and then say you want to go home.”
“He’ll definitely try to make you stay and promise the best conditions, especially for training. Just say you’re not that interested in cultivation. He might then ask if you want to be a Dragon Knight and talk about the privileges. Take note of everything he says—it’s all valuable intel. Then tell him you’ll think about it. Don’t agree to settle in Fenglong City—keep him hanging.”
Bai Xiuxiu stared at him in awe. “You… you’ve already predicted all this? You really think that’s how he’ll react?”
Lan Xuanyu shrugged. “Ninety percent sure. As long as he doesn’t suspect our identities and Liang Pu holds up under questioning, we’ll be fine. Tomorrow’s dinner is crucial. If it goes well, your identity is secure. Then Liang Pu will get me a basic ID—that’s all we need. Celestial Dragon Planet is a treasure trove. This is our first trip here, but definitely not the last. Once our identities are in place, we’ll move on to the next phase. I had planned to do that here, but now it looks like we’ll need to change locations.”
