Chapter 1021: Two Hundred Millions

TL: GoldenLung

Even in the Dragon Horse Galaxy, Space Origin Crystals remained an extremely valuable resource.

As soon as the crystals appeared, the entire venue erupted in excitement. The immense wealth of Celestial Dragon Planet was on full display—Lan Xuanyu saw more than twenty people raise their paddles. The rapid-fire auctioneer’s voice echoed like a machine gun.

“Twenty-one million, twenty-three million, twenty-six million, twenty-eight million…”

The price skyrocketed. In less than a minute, the bidding shot up from twenty million Dragon Horse Coins to thirty-five million, nearly doubling.

“I really want this. Is it too expensive?” Bai Xiuxiu turned to Huang Yuanlang. “It looks so beautiful!”

Huang Yuanlang frowned slightly. “We can get it, that’s not the issue. However, the price of Space Origin Crystals will definitely be higher today. Word is that a resource planet rich in the crystals from the Spaceborne Clan suffered an incident, causing market fluctuations. This auction is also a test—to see how far prices might climb.”

“Oh, then I’ll wait and see.” Bai Xiuxiu, though eager, was smart enough to hide it. She simply observed the ongoing bidding.

Gradually, even Huang Yuanlang's expression began to shift.

“Eighty-one million! A guest from Box Four bids eighty-one million,” the auctioneer exclaimed.

The price for these crystals soared from the starting twenty million to an astronomical eighty-one million. Even on Celestial Celestial Dragon Planet, that was an outrageous sum, not something easily afforded.

Huang Yuanlang furrowed his brows. He had a hunch that the Spaceborne Clan’s situation might be worse than initially rumored. Someone must have received inside information—why else would the price be so high?

“Someone, come.” Huang Yuanlang called calmly.

A small, cat-like creature with six legs and lightning speed darted into the room and knelt at his feet.

“Find out where the guest in Box Four is from,” he ordered.

“Yes.” With a deep voice, the creature turned and left.

Huang Yuanlang turned to Bai Xiuxiu with a slight smile. “Didn’t you want the Space Origin Crystals? Give me the bidding device.”

“Okay.” Bai Xiuxiu handed it over.

Huang Yuanlang entered a number into the device.

“Wow, Box One bids one hundred million Dragon Horse Coins!”

Indeed, he hadn’t even looked at the current bid. He just threw out a flat one hundred million—a jaw-dropping figure.

Even after making the bid, Huang Yuanlang remained calm, as if it were nothing.

“One hundred million, first call,” the auctioneer quickened the pace.

“One hundred and one million from Box Four,” she announced again, clearly shocked.

Even knowing they might be competing with someone from the Fenglong City Lord’s faction, the guest in Box Four raised the bid. Clearly, they were determined to get the crystals.

“One hundred and twenty million,” Huang Yuanlang bid again.

To his surprise, the other side matched him again—one hundred and twenty-one million.

At that moment, there was a knock on the door.

“Come in,” said Huang Yuanlang.

The cat-like creature rushed in, whispered something to Huang Yuanlang—too soft for Lan Xuanyu and the others to hear.

Raising an eyebrow, Huang Yuanlang narrowed his eyes. “Interesting.”

He entered a new number into the bidding device.

“Two hundred million! Box One bids two hundred million Dragon Horse Coins!” The auctioneer’s voice trembled. She had never seen such a price before and worried if the Young City Lord was furious.

Box Four fell silent. Then came another knock.

“Young City Lord, Cong Zhongyu from the Spaceborne Clan requests an audience.”

“Let him in,” Huang Yuanlang replied indifferently.

A Spaceborne Clansman entered. Lan Xuanyu and his companions immediately turned their gaze toward him, tense. So the bidder in Box Four was indeed from the Spaceborne Clan.

At that moment, Lan Xuanyu understood Huang Yuanlang’s behavior.

Sure, he bid to win Bai Xiuxiu’s favor, but that wasn’t all. He was also probing the true value of the Space Origin Crystals. The cat-like creature must’ve told him that the guest was from the Spaceborne Clan.

Their desperation—bidding so fiercely, even risking conflict—made it clear: something big had happened. And Huang Yuanlang’s high bid was a way to pressure them, to see their reaction under stress.

He didn’t expect the Spaceborne Clan would show up in person.

From Lan Xuanyu’s perspective, their behavior was irrational. The only explanation: the crystals were too critical. The clan must’ve ordered a full-scale repurchase regardless of cost.

Huang Yuanlang, shrewd as he was, was clearly playing to benefit from this.

Lan Xuanyu just hoped the Spaceborne envoy wasn’t a god-level powerhouse—if he discovered the Space Worm on them, it would spell disaster.

Thankfully, upon his entry, Lan Xuanyu sensed he wasn’t god-level.

He stood about 1.7 meters tall, about average for a human, with the Spaceborne Clan’s typical ugly features. Though his energy wasn’t weak, it wasn’t near god-level. Clearly, even in the Dragon Horse Galaxy, such beings were rare.

He walked quickly toward Huang Yuanlang, who didn’t even rise—just stared coldly.

“Did you come to talk, or to make me spend more money?” Huang Yuanlang said coolly.

Below, the auctioneer had begun the final countdown.

“Two hundred million, going once, going twice, going three times—sold! These ten Space Origin Crystals go to Box One.”

As the final bid concluded, the Spaceborne envoy grimaced, his face twisting further.

“Young City Lord,” he said respectfully, “we’re willing to pay more than two hundred million to buy those ten crystals—and also hope to earn your friendship.”

“I don’t need it,” Huang Yuanlang replied. “I’m not interested in your friendship. What, did you think this was your home planet? This is Celestial Dragon Planet. Even your so-called Grand Spaceborne Elders wouldn’t dare cause trouble here.”

Cong Zhongyu was taken aback and smiled bitterly. “That’s not our intent. Of course, we’re not here to cause trouble. But you know how vital these crystals are to us. You’ve likely heard—our resources have encountered issues, and we can’t produce Space Origin Crystals for now. They’re essential to us, which is why our elders decided to send us here to repurchase some urgently. If you’d be willing to help, our clan will generously reward you.”

Huang Yuanlang squinted slightly. “How many Space Origin Crystals do you need?”
