Domination in America, Starting from being a Boxing Champion

Chapter 781 - 565: Heavyweight Boxing Champion (Thanks to the book friend Scholar Grade's Rice Worm for the reward to the Alliance Master)

This summer, Lionsgate's commercial film releases include "Divergent," "The Neighbor," "Step Up: All In," and "Black Madwoman 3," as well as "John Wick."

From the number of films released, Lionsgate is no less prolific than the Big Six studios; the audience's response will determine the box office success.

In May, Link received an invitation from the organizers of the 67th Cannes Film Festival to join the jury as an actor, becoming one of the jury members.

Link happened to have time and did not refuse. In early May, he took three kids along with a team of nannies and bodyguards on a private plane to the small town of Cannes, staying at a seaside villa booked in advance for a vacation.

After his arrival, Marion Cotillard also brought little Cassel over, letting the four kids play together. Among the four little ones, Alexander and Cynthia were the oldest, with Cassel coming second and little Margarita being the youngest.

When they first met, the three kids were a bit shy around Cassel, but after playing together for half a day, they became familiar and stuck together wherever they went.

Marion Cotillard had work in her hands and returned to the set after spending two days in Cannes.

During his stay in Cannes, Link spent half a day watching competing films and the rest of the time touring and vacationing with the four kids.

During this period, Monica Bellucci also visited. She had divorced Vincent Cassel the previous year and became a single mother. Because she had biological needs, she sought Link's help, and he helped out a few times, out of friendship.

Monica was getting older but she was understanding. When it came to intimate exchanges, she was unreserved.

This year's Cannes Film Festival featured 1,208 films, a bit fewer than last year. Huaxia's main entries included "The Pacific Wheel" directed by Wu Yusen, "The Return" directed by Zhang Yimou, "A Step Away" by Jiang Wen, and the China-France co-production "Wolf Totem," among others.

After a week of exhibition and selection, 17 films entered the main competition, 20 films were shortlisted for the 'Un Certain Regard' section, and six films were selected for special screenings. Directors Zhang and Jiang Wen's films were shown in the non-competitive section.

Ultimately, the Turkish film "Winter Sleep" won the Golden Palm for Best Picture, the Italian film "The Wonders" received the Grand Prix, the French film "Goodbye to Language" got the Jury Prize, and Lionsgate Films' "Whiplash" won the Best Director award.

The Russian film "Mommy" won the Best Screenplay award, Canadian actress Julianne Moore won Best Actress for "Star Map," and British actor Timothy Spall won Best Actor for "Mr. Turner."

Compared to last year, this year's Cannes Film Festival was relatively calm. Besides the big star Link serving as a juror, there were almost no major news stories worth reporting.

After the Cannes Film Festival ended, Link first sent little Cassel back to Paris, then returned to the United States with the three little ones. When leaving, seeing little Cassel's reluctant expression, he also felt a bit heartbroken.

Once back in Los Angeles, Link continued his boxing training. At the end of May, he flew to Berlin in Europe to participate in a challenge against WBA Heavyweight Boxing Champion Alexander Povetkin.

Alexander Povetkin was born in 1979, 35 years old this year, with a height of 188 centimeters, a reach of 191 centimeters, and a weight of 225 pounds.

In 2003, he won the Super Heavyweight championship at the World Boxing Championships in Bangkok, Thailand, and in 2004, he won the gold medal in the above 91 kg category at the Olympic Games in Athens.

He is also a versatile martial artist who systematically studied martial arts, karate, close-quarters combat, and taekwondo. In 1997, he won the World Junior Combat Championships, in 1998, he won the Baltic States Cup in free fight, and in 1999, he claimed the World Boxing King title at the WAKO combat sports event.

He's the first athlete in history to hold titles as a free fight champion, Olympic champion, world champion, and professional boxer (WBA Heavyweight Boxing King) all in one.

His fighting prowess is at the max.

Povetkin entered the boxing ring professionally in 2005, with a current record of 27 fights and 27 wins, defeating competitors including Chris Byrd, Mark Hawk, and Heavyweight Boxer Hasim Rahman with Boxing King titles.

In the 2011 WBA World Boxing Champion battle, Alexander defeated Uzbekistan Boxing King Ruslan Chagaev and won the WBA Heavyweight Boxing King title.

Over the past three years, he has successfully defended the Golden Belt five times and is considered one of today's strongest boxers in the heavyweight division.

Alexander has superior boxing techniques, high punching power, above-average ability to take hits, above-average defense, average speed, and average footwork, making him a typical power puncher.

Because Link recently defeated the unbeaten Boxing King Deontay, and now he's challenging WBA Boxing King Alexander Povetkin, this match has also attracted the attention of boxing fans around the world.

With confidence in Link, media believes that Link has a better chance of winning before the match, and betting companies offer attractive odds, with Link losing at 1 to 28.

If Link unexpectedly loses the fight, those who bet on his loss could make a fortune.

However, Link doesn't plan to give them that opportunity. As the match began, Link took the initiative to attack, using his reach and speed advantages with fast jabs to bombard his opponent's defense and seek vulnerabilities, aiming to maximize damage to the rival.

Alexander is also an excellent boxer, where "excellent" refers mainly to technique, pure Russian boxing skills, nimble and varied footwork, precise and powerful punches, and a strong ability to withstand blows, making him a tough opponent to handle.

In the first round, Link threw 134 punches, hitting his opponent 18 times in the chest and abdomen, and 4 times in the head.
