After Transmigrating as a Tycoon’s Wife, My Thoughts Are Heard by the Whole Family

Chapter 411

This was the first time in Zhao Chengle’s life that his mother had ever hit him.

Wu Gu, despite her strong personality, had never laid a hand on her son. She had always disciplined him with words rather than actions.

The two slaps left Zhao Chengle stunned. His eyes immediately reddened as he looked at his mother in disbelief. “Mom, you hit me.”

Wu Gu no longer even wanted to look at him. She wasn’t a fool; knowing that her son had been aware of the truth all along cast his actions in an entirely different light.

Even though her heart felt as if it were splitting apart from the pain, she was determined to cut out the rot. She would not allow those who hurt her to have the upper hand ever again.

“You three have ten minutes to pack your things and get out of the Qin family home. If I see you here after ten minutes, don’t blame me for having the bodyguards remove you by force.”

“Mom!” Zhao Chengle was genuinely terrified. Was his mother really planning to throw him out along with them?

“Ten minutes. I never go back on my word.” Wu Gu’s tone was cold and unyielding. She turned to Zhao Jianghe and said, “Tomorrow, I’ll notify you to come sign the divorce papers. You will come alone. I don’t want to see anyone else.”

Zhao Jianghe could say nothing in response.

Lu Yunqing, still sobbing, tried to speak, but Wu Gu raised her hand. “If you dare to say one more disgusting word, I’ll keep hitting you. Don’t make your departure any uglier than it already is!”

With that, Wu Gu turned to leave.

Seeing his mother about to walk away, Zhao Chengle rushed to grab her hand, but she avoided him.

“I… I know I upset you, but I’m your son! I didn’t commit such a huge mistake, did I?”

Zhao Chengle couldn’t believe his mother was treating him the same as the other two. Surely, at most, she would scold or reprimand him. Why was she hitting him and kicking him out? What did this even mean?

“It’s because you’re my son that your betrayal is even more unforgivable,” Wu Gu said coldly. “I told you—I no longer have a son like you. Did you think I was just saying that out of anger?”

Not just Zhao Chengle, but everyone else in the room—whether the Qin family members or Zhao Jianghe and his lot—was shocked by how decisively Wu Gu was handling Zhao Chengle.

Even Ji Fei, who knew the full truth, was somewhat surprised.

After all, on the surface, Zhao Chengle’s only crime was knowing the truth and not telling her.

But perhaps, as Grandfather had said, if someone bearing the Qin family’s blood wouldn’t protect their own family, then what was the point of keeping them around?

The younger members of the Qin family naturally didn’t try to persuade Wu Gu.

In fact, as Wu Gu was leaving, they even helped block Zhao Chengle from following her.

Zhao Chengle, now truly panicked, shouted, “Don’t block me! Do you all hate me that much? I need to talk to my mom! She can’t just say something like this in a moment of anger!”

Qin Xian said coldly, “You already made your choice.”

“When you stepped in to defend the mistress against your own mother, you lost the right to call yourself her son,” Ji Fei added.

With that, everyone left the room.

Qin Wenqiang and Qin Yi summoned the housekeeper, explained the situation, and instructed them to ensure the three packed up and left.

The housekeeper, who had been with the family for many years, was furious upon hearing the full story—his beard practically flew up with anger. However, when he heard that Wu Gu was even kicking out her own son, he panicked, worried that she might ruin the mother-son relationship in a fit of anger.

Although he carried out the orders, he decided to notify Grandfather about the situation.

Meanwhile, the commotion had woken up the main building, and everyone came out to see what was going on.

When they saw Wu Gu return in a daze, they questioned the younger ones who had followed her.

Upon learning the truth, the men in the family were so enraged they wanted to go beat someone up.

Grandfather eventually stepped in and asked Wu Gu what she wanted to do. Wu Gu, now calmer, explained her decision.

When she mentioned that she no longer recognized Zhao Chengle as her son, some elders couldn’t help but try to persuade her. After all, Zhao Chengle was her only child. They reasoned that he was still young and simply immature.

But Grandfather ultimately declared that Wu Gu’s decision would stand. “She’s in her forties. Does she still need others dictating how to live her life?”

In the end, no matter how much Zhao Chengle cried and shouted, he wasn’t allowed to see his mother again. Instead, he was escorted out with the other two, their belongings thrown into the car along with them.

Because Zhao Chengle wouldn’t settle down, he was tied up. It was clear that Wu Gu was resolute in her decision.

Everyone else stood nearby, watching the drama unfold.

As the car was about to leave, Lu Yunqing, with her swollen, pig-like face, turned to Ji Fei, who was standing closest.

“Please, pass along my apology to Ayu. We never meant to hurt her.” She even shed tears as she spoke.

“Enough. She’s already beaten you to this point—it’s over,” Zhao Jianghe said, still defending his lover.

In the back seat, Zhao Chengle continued struggling like a man about to be abandoned. Deep down, he must have realized he’d made a mistake and was on the verge of losing the person who cared about him most.

Ji Fei hadn’t expected Lu Yunqing to make one last attempt to disgust her. She smiled and asked, “I’m curious. Why were you so willing to endure and stay in the shadows? Why not just break up their family outright? Why were you content to be the mistress?”

Her question sparked murmurs among the onlookers.

Lu Yunqing seemed to treat this as her final chance to perform. She eagerly replied, “Because I didn’t want to ruin their family. I wanted them to be happy. But Zhao Dage and I love each other, so—”

“So you wanted Wu Gu to continue playing the role of the so-called ‘old, worn-out wife’ to keep the backline stable, while you and Zhao Jianghe had your fun up front, right? I’ve heard you couldn’t get married because you can’t have children. So having Zhao Chengle, who treats you well, was enough. You privately nurtured your relationship with Zhao Chengle, knowing Wu Gu would discipline him while you played the nice one. Wu Gu did the hard work, while you played the saint. You wanted to enjoy the love of a husband and the filial piety of a son, all without doing any of the work Wu Gu did to build that life. Isn’t that the truth?”

Ji Fei’s words hit like a thunderclap, exposing the twisted logic behind Lu Yunqing’s actions.

Lu Yunqing’s face turned pale as her final layer of pretense was stripped away.

She thought she had simply been helping Ayu fill in the gaps, but hearing it spelled out like this made her sound downright evil.

Watching her expression, Ji Fei knew—this woman was both stupid and wicked, completely unaware of how despicable she was.

Ji Fei’s words also seemed to shock Zhao Jianghe and Zhao Chengle.

Zhao Jianghe hesitated for a moment, but Lu Yunqing’s soft sobs quickly drowned out any rational thought.

Zhao Chengle, however, was utterly stunned, as if a bucket of cold water had been dumped over his head.

“Well, this solves the problem. Wu Gu won’t have to suffer anymore, and no one will be waiting to enjoy the fruits of her labor,” Ji Fei said, waving her hand dismissively.

At Qin Xian’s signal, the driver and bodyguards escorted the three out of the Qin family home.
