Chapter 131: He's Not Suitable, Nor Is His Character
Chapter 131: Chapter 131: He’s Not Suitable, Nor Is His Character
“Do you truly love her, willing to give up everything for her?” Sang Qiao’s eyes, clear-cut as black and white, lingered on them. Her voice was calm, unhurried, somewhat leisurely.
It didn’t seem like she was the type of “parent” who would break up a couple. For a moment, Su Nuanying couldn’t quite figure out what attitude her cousin held regarding her and Fu Xing being together.
“Yes, I only ask you not to separate us.” Fu Xing nodded earnestly.
“Okay, since you love our Xingxing so much, and you’re willing to lose anything for her, you should also be able to quit the circle, right?” Sang Qiao’s voice was light, her eyes carrying a hint of amusement.
At those words, Fu Xing’s back tensed slightly, and the grip he had on Su Nuanying’s hand slackened a little.
Being with Su Nuanying was for resources, and now that he was being asked to leave the industry, how could he willingly accept it.
He quickly thought of the Su Family’s fortune; in the future, once the Su Family were gone, wouldn’t it all fall into his hands? However, Su’s parents were still quite young. Thinking of this, Fu Xing hesitated again.
He opened his mouth, pretending to be sorrowful as he stared at Xingxing beside him, as if he was about to sacrifice everything for her, “I…”
Su Nuanying really couldn’t stand to see Fu Xing so distressed. She looked up to meet her cousin’s eyes.
“Cousin, how can you forcefully make him give up his dream? I don’t agree, and besides, my relationship with him is my own business. Even my parents can’t control it, and you have no right to dictate my life.”
“Xingxing, don’t talk to Sister Qiao like that. She’s only looking out for you. I was in the wrong before—it’s normal she doesn’t trust me now.”
Fu Xing tugged at her clothes, a look of guilt and helplessness on his face.
Su Nuanying was quite taken by this act; her idol, having fallen from the pedestal into her arms, felt like a stroke of luck, and how could she bear to let Fu Xing keep giving unilaterally, time and again.
“I disagree with breaking up with Fu Xing, and I absolutely don’t want him to leave the industry. Cousin, you can’t be the kind of person who wrecks other people’s family harmony, right? You know my personality. Even if my family objects, I won’t break up with Fu Xing.”
“Mhm, I don’t care, you can leave now. Fu Xing is not suitable for any role in our company’s scripts.”
Sang Qiao withdrew her gaze, intending to turn and head upstairs after dropping that line.
Su Nuanying ran after her, her eyes filled with disbelief, “Cousin, how can you do this? The audition hasn’t even started; you’re deliberately being unfair!”
The actors nearby watched this scene, only wishing to comment silently.
How can there be absolute fairness in the entertainment world? If you weren’t her cousin, you wouldn’t even have the chance to argue here; you’d probably be escorted away by security right away.
Of course, they only dared keep these thoughts to themselves since… they were still auditioning for roles at Rose Entertainment. It was better not to get involved in others’ family affairs.
“He’s not suitable, and his character isn’t up to par either,” Sang Qiao said, glancing at her hand.
Su Nuanying subconsciously let go but still felt resentful, “You haven’t even given him a chance to audition, and his character issues are in the past. Cousin, you can’t let a capable actor go just because you’re prejudiced against him; you’re not that kind of person.”
Sang Qiao was no longer interested in continuing this conversation, and she looked up at the auditioning director inside the glass doors.
“Let them audition, no need to cover up for anyone, choose fairly,” she instructed.
“Understood, Sister Qiao,” the director replied, still watching the others audition as he looked up.
Sang Qiao glanced at Su Nuanying, her voice low, “I won’t meddle in your affairs, but you protect yourself. Don’t give in to him before getting married, and if it does happen, remember to take precautions, don’t get pregnant.”
After leaving such words behind, Sang Qiao turned and left without hesitation.
Su Nuanying, however, blushed and fumed—her cousin was overthinking things!
But now that Fu Xing had the opportunity to audition, she was relieved. Nonetheless, it seemed her relationship with her cousin might be hard to mend. She had been hoping that once Fu Xing’s career took off and he regained his status, she could reintroduce him to her family.
This was to avoid precisely the kind of situation that was unfolding now, but she hadn’t expected to run into her cousin at the office.
“Xingxing, I’m sorry, it’s because of me that your relationship with your cousin isn’t good.”
Fu Xing appeared guilt-ridden as he looked at her, sinking into a morass of self-blame.
“It’s okay, my cousin is just not thinking straight for a while. She’ll get over it in a few days. After the audition, let me take you home, though my parents aren’t around these days; we’ll have to pick another time.”
“Okay, I wonder if Grandma will also…” Fu Xing voiced his concern, but inside he was somewhat pleased.
After all his efforts, he was finally close to gaining the Su Family’s approval.
“No, she won’t. You’re such a good person, Grandma will definitely like you! She doesn’t even know about the things you did in the past.”
“About your cousin…” Fu Xing started to say something but hesitated, as if holding back words that one could guess.
“She won’t tell,” Su Nuanying said with certainty, convinced that her cousin, having promised, wouldn’t speak of it, especially since she no longer lived at their house.
“That’s good. Xingxing, I’ll definitely treat you well in the future. Let’s get married once you graduate.”
“You haven’t even proposed; I may not necessarily agree to marry you.” Su Nuanying’s cheeks reddened, bashful as she looked at him.
“That’s my fault. I’ll definitely prepare a grand proposal for you once you graduate.” Fu Xing watched her patiently, his eyes revealing tenderness.
Su Nuanying’s heart raced. Never having chased stars before, she had set her eyes on Fu Xing from the moment he debuted, perhaps a match made by destiny.
Even though their relationship so far had been one where only she made sacrifices, she had always believed that once Fu Xing’s career improved, he would certainly marry her and treat her well.

Sang Qiao returned to her office and first sent a message to Xiao’an, asking her to bring dinner for two to the office.
Just as she was about to exit the green messaging app, her phone screen lit up with a call from her almost non-existent father.
She had deliberately blocked most of the Sang Family’s numbers and contact information, but she had forgotten about Mr. Sang.
Sang Qiao tapped to answer and heard Mr. Sang’s gentle tone, “Qiaoqiao, when will you come home for a meal? After all, we are a family, it’s not good to be at odds all the time, right? And your mother has already moved out of the Sang Family’s house, so you don’t need to worry about seeing him.”
“What do you want,” Sang Qiao wasn’t interested in exchanging pleasantries. From a very young age, she had a clear understanding in her mind.
Her mother might not love her, but she definitely loved her more than her father did.
What do you think?
